hey everyone.
lent is over, easter season is here, and i'm back, kind of. i realized, during my time away, that while I really missed talking to my friends on here, I really did not miss this website very much at all. so while I am returning I'm going to be changing the way I use it. in the coming days I will most likely be remaking my blog -- let me know if you would like the new url. I'll leave jeanritchie up as an archive and continue to queue donation posts and maybe some occasional other stuff here since I have thousands of followers and more reach (though I'm also trying to take control of my finances so that I can afford to regularly donate myself which seems more helpful.) I'm also:
using substack as my primary social platform these days. it isn't perfect, and I dislike social media in general, but I find that the energy kind of matches what I actually like about tumblr without some of the stuff I dislike, and that the longer-form posting / focus on writers means people are more thoughtful most of the time. I also think posting under my real professional name etc. keeps me accountable and prevents me from oversharing, discoursing, or saying anything I will regret.
going to limit my time on tumblr to half an hour a day, and use a browser extension to enforce this.

eta: I will be continuing keep using jeanritchie as an uploads blog since I don't want to gain the same kind of large following on my new blog and that's where most of my followers come from but I still want to keep posting pics of my musicians etc lol
