“well, if I’m annoying you, just say so.” though, this is said sarcastically, entirely lighthearted in tone. it even comes with a bright grin, which is funny, considering the more serious tone the conversation had before. rowan has always hated sad moments, hates the idea of sitting in one for too long, especially just sitting in silence. “no uh, thanks dude, but i’m good. and i’m not just saying that, i mean it.” and is it really so hard to believe with the way his smile looks? he’s gotten good at faking them, apparently.

“besides, i like hearing you talk.” he offers the other a small pat on the back. and he does mean that, even if it’s just because it means rowan doesn’t have to talk.
