      WHERE THE UNIVERSE WAS NOW was a different place to how he’d left it ; nearly unrecognizable, fragmented despite the new republic’s efforts to form a strong union. naturally, people would unite and cement it, but it’d been a society dropped over and over again from a millennium of peace. the hands that held it were clumsy, hesitant. he could feel it in the force, the way it oft quivered like a soft tremor, an unsteady heartbeat. it wants to heal, and heal it will when stability was found. 

     when people knew they were safe again.

     he waved his hand, revealing a constellation of knowledge before rey in her meditative state.  ❛  that doubt you felt to succumb to the darkness is only natural,  ❜  he reveals, tucking his hand back into his robes.  ❛  when you’re promised something, it’s hard to refuse. too bad it came from the mouth of a chronic liar. he’ll give you the carrot before swapping it for a stick.  ❜

❛  can you ask me something sort of heavy?  ❜ she teases, finding humor in the idea that there could be anything he wants to tell her that she doesn’t want to hear. somewhere between getting hunted by rathtar’s and journeying to rescue her on starkiller base, she had realized that the boy she ran into on jakku was someone she would forever want to be near. after all they’ve been through, she is an open to book to him. ❛  i’m listening.  ❜ she adds a bit of levity, a hidden cue to help quell his all too noticeable bout of nerves. uncertainty in oneself is yet another shared experience between them, but just as his support provides her confidence, she hopes to do the same.

lia you are my saving grace in this fandom. i love your take on rey, your opinions, the way you play & understand her character, and manage to make something deep & insightful out of what lfl & disney gave us. you have such a deep love and respect and understanding for her and it makes me so so happy to see

anyways. rey is training the next generation of jedi and learning from the mistakes of the past, she’s reshaped the order like luke did before her. and she’s living with finn and poe and going on adventures with them.
