Diagetic and Non-Diagetic- Kung Fu Hustle
-The Music intro is non-diagetic, and it works with the film and how it comes into it when the sun bursts over the ridge of the cliff ect.
-When the film starts there is a background noise of someone being beaten, this is diabetic. The following dramatic footstep noises and his shouting are also diabetic noises, along with when the character spits and there is clattering of props.
-The following build up music is non diagetic.
-When the windows slam shut the sounds are diagetic and the following conversation is diagetic. After this an effect is put over the audio to muffle all of the environment sound to create the effect of shell shock which is non diagetic.
-Music kicks in, this classes as non-diagetic, (the film works well with the dancing actor, who comes in and out of a changing sequence of shots still dancing.)
-There are sounds of beating which is diagetic.
-The camera flash sound is non-diagetic and works well with the effect they put on to create a picture like quality to establish the story and switching of money.
-There are sounds of traffic in the background which are diagetic, you don't see any traffic just the exterior of a building which helps establish the status it has. When it shows inside the building there is a casino, and you hear a lot of sounds involving these, however some sounds you see the source, some you don't. All of these are diagetic.
-The last clip of the head of the axe gang dancing is shown and the music ends which is non-diagetic. The final end of the scene has sounds of an axe whistling through the air which is non-diagetic.
-Music starts, none diagetic.
-Sounds of living are heard as the camera moves, these are diagetic. The following conversations involving the landlord are also diagetic. There are comical footsteps coming from inside a building, these are diagetic. The following speech is diabetic. Then there is a series of comical slapping and beating sounds, and then as the landlord is thrown out of the window there are crashing sounds, all which are diagetic.
-Drum beats start, adding to the non diagetic sounds, then a song starts, this is also a non-diagetic sound.
-The sound of crying and the following sounds of living, conversation, comical scissors, wobbling jelly/fat and punches are diagetic. (12:45-15:55)
-There are several non-diagetic sounds involve swooshing sounds which work with the film to add comical and emphasis.
-The following sounds are diagetic and involve running. footsteps, flip-flop slaps, yelling, firecracker bangs and animal sounds.
-Music starts up which is a non-diagetic sound.
-There is more shouting and comical shooting and running sounds which are diabetic, along with the fake storm nosies.
-The music works with the landlady, ending when the cover settles over her.
-The whirling and swooshing noises of the fight are diagetic, along with the firework sounds, the turntable music and screech and the following life sounds.
