Civil Air Patrol Air Force Auxiliary is a great community leader. Though there are squadrons everywhere. Their are few who know of this amazing group who are teaching our future leaders. They perform deeds for the community like doing search and rescue missions under the Air Force, Teach aerospace education, and volunteer to help make the community a better place. In ww2 they were tasked with spotting and sometimes bombing enemy submarines off our coasts. For more info go to gocivilairpatrol.com
Every summer their are nights when the community comes together to watch movies at red rocks amphitheater these awesome night are known as Film on the Rocks

William F. Cody was born in iowa in 1846. His skill has a buffalo hunter gained him the name Buffalo Bill. In 1917 Buffalo Bill died while visiting his sister's home in Denver. On June 3, 1917 Buffalo Bill was buried on Lookout Mountain
Mother Cabrini negotiated the purchase of this property in 1909-1910 as a girls summer camp in 1954 a twenty two foot statue of jesus was mounted on a eleven foot base on top of a 373 step stairway today many flock to this sacred site to pray and give respects to the late Mother Cabrini
Welcome to Jefferson County June 22, 1850 gold was found along the S.Platte River residents of the mining region felt disconnected from the territorial government of Kansas so they voted to form their own territory of Jefferson on Oct. 24, 1859 organizing 12 counties for the new territory later to be part of Colorado.
