Yeah, it got kinda lonely that first time I went off anyways. I’m a real big stick to your roots type person…or…whatever the phrasing is. 

Just gotta finish up my culinary arts thing, then a lil degree in business. If I wanna have my own bake shop by before I’m 30 I best start now.

I got lucky and met my best friend at university, we were roommates. Now that he’s back in Greensville though, I start to feel you on the loneliness. That’s why I came here, after all.

Well... no, not specifically... not one person. I do get around. My parents don`t know about any of that though. Or, rather, they probably do have an idea, they just don’t know about the specifics....

Now that sounds like a very nice way to spend the day before partying the night away. *grins* Good to hear. I’m doing good, too, still studying, still living in NYC. I do plan on staying in Greensville for the summer break though, so you can expect me to be around for a while.

Oh…yeah. It’s not that uncommon in families that came over here from India somewhat recently. I do get a say in it, it’s not forced on me… but there is a certain pressure not to embarrass your family and hers by resisting the matchmaking too hard. It depends on how traditional the families are, of course, but mine….. yeah…

Well, it's not. Not really. I was supposed to meet her at a family dinner. She wants to study at NYU, apparently, so my parents hoped we could find something to talk about there, get along well and become friends. It's easier to convince us to get married that way. My parents met like that, after all.

Thing is... I'm not at the dinner, we won't become friends, and I certainly won't marry her.
