This is my CATS the Musical fan page. I got into this musical after hearing 'Memory' on a randomized Broadway playlist, and after I decided to see what else CATS had to offer, I got sucked into a rabbit hole of productions, music, and lore!
Ask me ANYTHING about CATS! I won't judge! Seriously! Being judgemental goes against my whole belief system. Ships, headcanons, cosplans, choreography, music, worldbuilding ideas - I'll answer as best I can!

Formerly known as a Home for All Unusual Creatures, it was founded by Violette Coder, and continues among the family lineage to provide the best service to all who end up at the home. The home is a place that shelters and supports those who have forgotten or lost their purpose. This specific home (yes there are other "homes" but they won't be explored) mandates that all who remember their purpose must leave within 3 days though.
These shelters are crucial since creatures who have forgotten their purpose can experience real danger in the outside world. In a way, they have lost a sense of direction in their life, leading them to wander (possibly permanently) and hypothetically encounter "clip outs" which is basically them getting teleported randomly to different places hence the risk of encountering something dangerous. This condition could be a spectrum too, with some being affected more severely. For example, a creature could be instantly teleported to a cave with a man eating dog inside (think backrooms kinda) but only if they touch a shark plushie while another creature could only be teleported to the same field of flowers whenever they see a car. How do they usually make it back if they even do? I'm still working that out :)
A purpose could be something as serious as a life goal or as simple as forgetting you were out to buy groceries. It's possible to remember ones purpose without a home, in fact many remember right away. However, anxiety/stress does hinder the remembering, hence why the homes help, speeding the process up by being a "chaos" proof environment that gives stability to its residents. In this world, homes engineer something akin to an algorithm/program that drastically increase the chances of a potential resident to end up at the home (don't look too deep into this, it's not meant to make much sense).
In The Home of All Unusual Creatures, due to financial obstacles, residents may be required to perform occasionally for patrons, those who donate to the Home. It's mandated that anyone who pays to be labeled as a patron, meaning that if you pay like a nickel or a dime you would be considered as one.
*the performances could be anything, ranging from dances, songs, just making conversation to the audience on a stage or someone trying to untangle a ball of yarn. Evidently, they are often kinda crappy and a bit boring if I'm being completely honest. Patrons, the donors, either see it as a genuine cause, use it as volunteer hours or are already generational donors among other reasons.
Inspired by "Miss Peregrine's Home for Peculiar Children," "The Thief of Always," “Paprika” and weirdcore simulators, the story follows Peko, a young stellar dino, ending up at a home. Compared to this project's inspirations, I aim to take a more slice of life approach rather than dramatic horror or action (still want to maintain the "disturbing comfort" of dreamcore/weirdcore though, and also there is a somewhat antagonistic character The Eraser but won't be focused on too much). We follow Peko as he explores the home's nooks and crannies as well as the other characters until he inevitably leaves.
The home will be structured in a very interesting way reminiscent of the mentioned aesthetics. Expect a lot of weird liminal spaces.

Coming out of my hiatus to say go support my friend and her characters! I know this is a Cats the Musical page, but if you're a fan of dreamcore/weirdcore and liminal spaces and just need more whimsy and strangeness in ur life (kinda like cats), please consider having a look!
