All Mine f(x) Korean Lesson! (Prt 1)
Here is a little Korean lesson using the song All Mine by f(x). In it I will break down the song to explain the words and grammar. I will not be using romanization, so please learn to read Hangul first! I promise it’s very easy and there are lots of resources.
So let’s get started! Starting with the first line in Korea.
맘이 맘대로 안돼
맘 is heart, and 이 is a particle meaning the heart is the object of the sentence . In the next word, 맘대로, we see 맘 used again, sort of as a root word. 로 is a particle added to mean something like “using” or “as way of”. For example you could add this particle after the word car to mean you are using the car to reach a destination. So, 맘대로 means “the way of the heart” or “one’s own direction” 안 means” not” and 돼 is the conjugated form of 되다 meaning to become or do or to come to.
So “맘이 맘대로 안돼 “ means “My heart Isn’t doing what I want.”
내 심장 소린 점점 빨라져
내 means “my”, 심장 is another word for heart. 소린 (which would usual be 소리는 but it is shortened to flow better I believe) means sound. 심장 소리 together means “heartbeat”, with the 는 particle added to show that the heartbeat is the subject of this sentence. 점점 means “increasingly”. 빨르다 means “to be fast”, it is conjugated with 져 to mean a changing state. So the heartbeat is changing to become faster.
So “내 심장 소린 점점 빨라져” means “My heartbeat is getting faster”
말이 맘대로 안돼
말 means “speech”. We have already learned the rest. So it means “I can’t speak the way I want to”
내 맘을 따라 잡을 수 없어
을 is another object particle like 이 and 는 (they are used differently but I can go into more detail about that later). 딸라 means “follow” (conjugated from 따르다). 잡다 means “to catch”, which is used a lot in Korean to mean a lot of things, it just happens to work out perfectly with the English word “catch” here. Here 잡다 is conjugated with “~을 수 없어”, which is added to a verb to mean that verb can’t be done. In this case, it means “can’t catch”.
So “내 맘을 따라 잡을 수 없어“ means “I follow my heart, but I can’t catch it” or “I can’t follow my heart” The second translation is closer to the true meaning, this is defiantly a good example of it being easier to think about in Korean.
That’s it for this lesson! I will post the next part very soon! I waned to put more but a LOT was covered in just these few lines, so I wanted to leave it here so you could ask your questions before I continue.
If you have ANY questions feel free to ask! I’ll be very happy to answer, or even fix the post if I need to!
Thanks for reading!

@shavaunna I like your hands.
Things with hands that shouldn't have them.
When I first had really cheap markers I wanted to just test it out on facial structures I never worked on so I drew Solas from DAI.

The Magical Adventures Of Moon By: Moon
Once upon a time, there was a very upset girl named Moonblade. She was a thin flat-chested girl with short black hair, who looked like she came out of a black metal concert. No one knew why Moonblade was so angry. Perhaps she truly did wake up at the wrong side of the bed, or was eternaly on her period.
But this one particular day, Moon was very mad. None of her friends knew how to cheer her up at all, not even LoveyDoveyChloe, the happiest and funniest of all the land. Moon was so very mad that she had killed a 4-year-old.
Lemme know if you want more M.A.O.M! Til’ then, Moon-Chan out!
