dierra when the kingstons first adopted her. mickles and personal space (or lack of)
Excitement flushed through her veins as she skipped down the stairs. The house was empty - for now. But her parents would be coming, soon, with a girl that they were going to adopt. For the longest time, it had always just been her and Luke, which was fine; Sierra, however, had always wondered what it would be like to have a little sister. Of course, her parents had told her that the girl, Devon, would only be three years younger than she was, which wasn't that big of a difference. Heck, they'd still be able to be in high school together when they both got there!
But, more than that, this meant that she would finally be able to have a best friend that wasn't Luke with his weird smelly boy armpits and gross gym shorts. She'd have someone she'd be able to talk to about everything, stuff she couldn't even tell her mom. And Sierra was beyond excited. She ran into the bathroom, glancing at herself in the mirror. She was tall and gangly - always had been, being a full head taller than almost all the girls in her class at school, but her brown eyes were bright and full of a jubilance that came with her age, and with the prospect of adding someone else to the Kingston family. Her blonde, wavy hair was pulled back into a messy ponytail, and all in all Sierra thought she looked a little scary. But she heard the garage door start to open, and just opened that Devon wouldn't be too scared of meeting her.
Sierra ran down the hall, bouncing on the balls of her feet, as the door opened and in walked her mother, tall, blonde, and beautiful, and her father, shorter but with round, brown eyes filled with barely concealed excitement. And behind them, a short, doe eyed brunette with wary hazel eyes. And suddenly Sierra's world exploded in a haze of color and excitement. She moved forward instantly, taking the girl's hands gently in her own, smile wide and friendly, "Hi, I'm Sierra. I'm your new sister!" She exclaimed, before chewing on her lip, tugging on her gently, "Let me show you your room! It's right next to mine, isn't that awesome?" The girl didn't say much, instead simply following her with that same wary look in her eyes. Sierra wasn't bothered. Someday soon, she would convince her that this was a good thing. That they were family. And she didn't need to be wary of family, because family was forever.
She lead Devon up to her room, hopping to the bed excitedly and taking the Stitch doll off the bed that she had picked out special for her. She held it out to Devon, who looked at her a little bit like she was crazy, before taking it from Sierra's hands. She swallowed, before explaining, "We're Ohana now, Devon. And Ohana means family." A wide, simple smile spread across her features, "I'll let you look around. If you need me, I'm right next door, even if it's just to talk or whatever." Sierra leaned forward, wrapping her arms around her in a hug, squeezing once, before pulling away, "Bye, Dev." And with that, Sierra left her sister, her ohana, to get herself settled in her new digs, and figure out what in the world the Kingston's had ahead of her.
Mickey lifted a long brown piece of hair up over her eyes, revealing the sleeping body next to her. It hadn't been a dream? It had been serious? Like... literal? Holy crap! She fidgeted in the bed, and when she felt the smooth feel of sheets against her bare skin, a small noise left her lips. Oh God, it was real. She'd had sex with Miles Crowe, her best friend's older brother and the guy she'd been in love with ever since she knew what love was. Embarrassingly enough, she had written "Mrs. Miles Crowe" on many, many junior high notebooks while she'd been in school. Of course, Mickey wasn't delusional. She was hopelessly in love with the guy and had 0 expectations of him ever loving her back. Now, sex wasn't love but it was affection in a physical sense, and that was more than Mickey had ever expected to receive.
She licked her lips, swinging her head to the side and realizing his arm was draped over her waist, and her body was tucked against his side. She moved again, and skin slid against skin and a sigh left her lips. God, that felt good. Mickey's heart was galloping to an erratic symphony in her chest, and she allowed her head to fall back to the pillow with a sigh. She chewed on her lower lip, remembering all the actions the night before that had lead her here, lead to them making love in her bed. Thank God Finn was out of town for a couple days - she could also remember being quite loud. Mickey looked down at her body, noticing hickeys on her chest before the rest of it disappeared beneath the sheets. She wondered if Miles... well, if he enjoyed himself. The man was sleeping beside her still, snoring lightly, mouth cocked up and hair messy and unkempt. It was adorable, and holy crap, she was a goner now.
Mickey lifted herself up on her arms, savoring the warmth his arm over her waist provided, before taking her time to study his face. Her fingers lifted, brushing over the stubble on his jaw, down the bridge of his nose, before lightly brushing over his lips. His mouth closed, and suddenly Mickey was greeted with those fabulous blue eyes. She hadn't realized how intently she was studying him, how close she was to his face, until she saw a single brow raise.
"Take a picture, it lasts longer." He quipped in a sleepy voice, lips turning up in an affectionate smile that she knew now, he saved just for her. Mickey's insides turned to mush, and she crossed her arms beneath her and rested her chin on them, smiling happily at Miles. "Nah. Pictures aren't as cool as the real thing." She finally managed, her cheeks going red at the admission, and she ducked her head bashfully. A warm hand slid down her bare back, and Mickey shivered, a soft sigh leaving her lips, as his other hand gently tilted her face back up. Warm lips, tasting just like Miles, brushed over her own, and he murmured quietly, "I guess you're right." Mickey's eyes cracked open. This was a Miles she was unaccustomed to. A Miles without bravado and pretense. A Miles focused solely and being gently and sweet with her.
"Last night..." She trailed off, cheeks still red as she failed to bite back a grin, "Last night was amazing." Miles' face transformed, that cocky look coming back as he chuckled.
"Yeah, I know. What can I say? I'm a man of many skills." He boasted, rolling onto his back and taking her with him, until her body slid tantalizingly across his, bare and on fire. His expression changed, eyes darkening as he took her in, drinking her up with his eyes first, before lifting his face and tasting with his lips.
Needless to say, that was the last time they spoke for a while, especially when Miles started showing her his very tasteful skillset.
