You know what's scary? Waking up at a super late hour and hearing your very young self speaking from a distance-I literally thought "did I die and go to hell? Is that what this is?" But no just Netflix!
@cdcrpgstarters
I have done that before, fell asleep on the couch, woke up to one of the Hunger Games movies. I was like "you AGAIN?! Fuck off!" I would say it gets better but I feel like it only gets worse and the younger you were when you started acting the worse it probably is.
Oh. Right. Shit. Fuck. Well Nick this was your oh so smart idea-now what? In truth he hadn't thought that far ahead. He had half expected an eyeroll, maybe some choice words and the door slammed in his face and yet the exact opposite had happened. Oh right-them, specifically the end of them and...him...god just thinking about him made him understand the phrase "seeing red." He understood it with perfect clarity. "Why...just...why was it so easy to throw away what we had for something that turned out to be nothing?" Clearly it had been a wash since she had moved on with someone else and he had as well but still why-why had she been able to just toss him to the curb and pick up that talentless hack and even that wasn't enough?! He didn't get it and he wondered if even now, even if he heard the words would he get it? Would he understand?
Ah Liam. Would she ever be able to escape The Hunger Games? Probably not. It wasn't that she wasn't grateful for the role and the opportunity but here it was, 13 years later and it still seemed to circle back to it. With age came wisdom, at least, for some people. And for some people it brought about a calmness, a stillness to life. Yes Liam had been the biggest mistake of her life and all because of what it had cost her in the long run. They were polar opposites and destined to never work, not as friends and definitely not as a couple. So what had it been then? Curiosity? Boredom with what she had already? Either way it had cost her dearly. "I wish I could tell you why I did what I did but I can't. It was a mistake and if I could undo it I would. In a heartbeat." She let out a sigh and made herself look at him. A lot had changed since that first X-men movie but that urge to launch herself into his arms was as strong as ever. "I don't know what you want me to say, I was young, stupid and I have been paying for it every day since." She closed her eyes and fought off another sigh, exhausting settling in deep.

Ryan: Hey stranger happy belated birthday!
Jen: Stranger? I'm just offended by this I really am
Some people were able to move on from relationship to relationship without giving the past more than a passing thought. Not Nick and definitely not after how things had ended with what he had been so sure was the sure thing. So sure he had dropped far too much on a ring-and then everything ended. Just. Like. That. Of course he discovered why quickly, leave it to TMZ to break the news. Hocking the ring, he grabbed some friends and went on a bender around Europe, returning when the funds ran out. With yet another failed relationship under his belt he wanted closure. He deserved it. Her attitude barely phased him, even now. "Finishing my promo work. And then to see you. May I?"
Ah right the "Superman" movie. She was tempted to tell him off given the unholy hour but she also didn't need to deal with the press. Stepping to the side she waited until he was in before she closed the door, throwing the locks. "Follow me" she said and without another word she slowly walked from the front of the house to the back, the further from the nursery the better. Closing the door into what was a mismatch of various boxes and random objects scattered about. Bracing herself, she faced him, the one that hurt the most. The ones that came before meant nothing. But after...Liam...boy had that been beyond words stupid. Darren, well, that had been nothing but a very intense fling. Cooke? No matter how the relationship had ended they had kids together and that was something she would have never taken back for anything. "Okay" she finally said breaking the silence. "What's on your mind?"
With a heavy sigh as she picked up the last of the toys-or what she could see anyways-the blonde huffed and tossed them in the bin, closing it, her eyes along with it. A knock at the door startled her back into reality. Now who the fuck could that have been? Digging her phone out she opened the camera app and saw...well...yet another ex...Rolling her eyes she tucked the phone away and sighed heavily. Now what in the everloving hell was THIS about?! Walking to the front door, she undid the locks and placed herself between the door and the frame, doing her best to be ubothered though she wanted to strangle the man in front of her. "Long way from home and for...what? Surely it wasn't just to see me."
