In relationships, we often become versions of ourselves that we think others want to see. We end up dulling our inner light, and conforming to fit the other person. I believe we may do this for acceptance, or maybe for the fear that they will not love us as we truly are. I am guilty of this. I am, by nature, a very spiritual person, and I tend to dull this part of myself when I’m in a romantic relationship. It may be for reasons such as the other person not believing in anything spiritual, or perhaps I am trying to fit their vision of me. We all, meaning myself and everyone in general, need to stop doing this! Don’t hide parts of yourself to appeal to others. Maybe this is part of the reason that we get ourselves into the wrong relationships in the first place. Let your light shine as brightly and beautifully as you want it to, and the right person will come along and accept you, and love you just as you are. Don’t let anyone dull your sparkle!
