“The red hourglass, on the bottom.” she said pointing with her other hand. She stared at the spot where the spider had been for a couple of seconds before giving a small shrug. “Eh, what’s the worst that could’ve happened? Me dying?”

“It didn’t bite you, did it?” she asked, looking from the spider to the girl. Her latter comment immediately caught her attention -- she wasn’t sure if it was a joke or not.  But still, sometimes people just needed someone to listen to them.  “Are you okay?”

Lilith quirked an eyebrow, looking down at the spider crawling on her arm. “Oh uh-sorry, I was uh-yeah sorry.” she replied, observing the spider as it crawled down her arm.  “I don’t think its poisonous. The red hourglass means safe right?”

“The red what now?” Jenna didn’t wait for an explanation, she was already swatting the damn thing off her arm. “I don’t know but red usually means dangerous.  And I’m not risking it.”

Jenna huffed, raising her hands in surrender. “Fine! I’ll just let the spider bite you then.”

“Were ya looking for something special? Or just got caught trying to catch a peek at the coolest guy around?”

“I must’ve napped straight through that lesson then...” she trailed off, clearing her throat. “Uh me? I--... yes. Yes. I was wondering about--” Jenna walked over to the window, gesturing at the curtains. “These. They’re really pretty. Where’d you get them?”

“Oh God... I can feel myself getting lightheaded.”

“--I think I’m gonna pass out.”

“Coffee does nothing for me. Unless I drink gallons of it then I’m all up on the walls and trees.”

“I think I’ve gotten to that point too. I used to drink a lot of it during my first few years in college. Now I try not to drink too much except for in the mornings. Otherwise, I’m practically a zombie.”

Hey, I heard that! Come on, I can barely carry my own suitcase as it is. So unless you want to leave your stuff behind, you should maaaybe give me my suitcase back.

Okay, I’ll tell you! But you know what? You probably won’t even find it that creepy anymore. When people tell me something’s really creepy, I always come up with something even worse. So when they finally spill the beans, it does nothing. Well, usually. Alright, lemme look it up real quick...

Oh! I’m getting my bachelor’s in Elementary Education. Just one more year left before I graduate!

“Come on, come on!” Doreen bounces on her toes. “You can do it, you can do it, yeah, yeah, yeah!” But she really has no idea what’s going on, not anymore. “Actually, screw this, let’s get ice cream.”

“I did it!” She announces happily, setting the coffee pot down on the counter. "Would you like to try some or do you wanna go straight for the ice cream?”

And you trust me in that if it’s gross, I could handle it. Kind of half to being a doctor and seeing the things I do. Yeah? Is something supposed to happen this weekend?

It isn’t gross... it’s more along the lines of creepy? But alright, if you’re completely sure you’ll be fine then I guess I might as well tell you, Doc. Um... well, kind of? It’s nothing exciting or anything! I’m just buying school supplies with my sister if she decides to tag along.

Trust me, you don’t wanna hear it. It’ll keep you awake at night probably... I mean, I could hardly get a wink of sleep when I read it so... Oh! I’m doing good myself. Just wishing the weekend would get here already.
