Jennifer was failed by her family for 4 seasons straight. They locked her in her room, treated her like a monster and then when she finally got independence everyone forgot that she existed. She ran away with Khalil and they only knew because Perenna told them. She practically lived with Brandon in season 3 and absolutely nobody noticed. She was so attached to the Khalil because outside of him nobody really paid attention to her. She found acceptance and safety in Brandon because her family was never around to support her. She constantly had to look for support outside of her family. The most heartbreaking thing is she still feels a sense of abandonment and loneliness, even in the finale, while trying to cope with the fact that nobody in her family, minus Jefferson, noticed that someone took her place. This time however, thereās no Brandon or Khalil to fall back on when her family forgets her again, and they will. Jennifer deserved better, and Iām sad she never got it. Grateful that she had Keisha, Brandon and Khalil though, even though in the end she had none of them and was alone all over again.
