Leon Ross describes what happened in the shooting of his dog by Hawthorne Police - (ORIGINAL) (by ElCanalFutbolista) What did Leon do so wrong? What did his dog Max do so wrong? He was wrongfully handcuffed and his dog was wrongfully killed. I truly admire his composure after what had happened. I hope serious action can be taken after this. But unfortunately it doesn't replace him with his dog. We'll do our best to support you Leon with whatever it takes.
POWER - The definition
Often misused and abused unfortunately by law enforcement and needless to say, by our Government. How would a world without power exist? Something to ponder I guess. Who has power over us Humans? Just coming from a different perspective...... POWER |ˈpou(-ə)r| noun 1 the ability to do something or act in a particular way, esp. as a faculty or quality: the power of speech | [ with infinitive ] : the power to raise the dead | (powers) : his powers of concentration. 2 the capacity or ability to direct or influence the behavior of others or the course of events: the idea that men should have power over women | she had me under her power. • political or social authority or control, esp. that exercised by a government: the party had been in power for eight years | [ as modifier ] : a power struggle. • a right or authority that is given or delegated to a person or body: police do not have the power to stop and search | emergency powers. • the military strength of a state: the sea power of Venice. • a state or country, esp. one viewed in terms of its international influence and military strength: a great colonial power. • a person or organization that is strong or influential within a particular context: he was a power in the university. • a supernatural being, deity, or force: the powers of darkness. • (powers) (in traditional Christian angelology) the sixth highest order of the ninefold celestial hierarchy. • [ as modifier ] informal denoting something associated with people who hold authority and influence, esp. in the context of business or politics: a red power tie. • [ with modifier ] used in the names of movements aiming to enhance the status of a specified group: gay power. 3 physical strength and force exerted by something or someone: the power of the storm. • capacity or performance of an engine or other device: he applied full power. • the capacity of something to affect the emotions or intellect strongly: the lyrical power of his prose. • [ as modifier ] denoting a sports player, team, or style of play that makes use of power rather than finesse: a power pitcher. • the magnifying capacity of a lens. 4 energy that is produced by mechanical, electrical, or other means and used to operate a device: generating power from waste | [ as modifier ] : power cables. • electrical energy supplied to an area, building, etc.: the power went off. • [ as modifier ] driven by such energy: a power drill. • Physics the time-rate of doing work, measured in watts or less frequently horsepower. 5 Mathematics the number of times a certain number is to be multiplied by itself: 2 to the power of 4 equals 16.

Police Officer Uses "Power Trip" On My Son
Last night my son had told me and his father something that really bothered me up until I woke up this morning. He had gone to watch his school’s varsity basketball game. During the singing of the national anthem, he had stood up like everyone else and sat back down like everyone when finished. Then his friend had nudged him because a police officer was at the bottom of the stands pointing for him to come down. My son was a little confused as to why the officer was pointing at him because he didn’t feel he had done anything wrong. So he didn’t come right down. Then the officer stood there and yelled up at him in a harsh tone, “Next time you need to take off your hat…….show some loyalty!” Whoa! Okay hold up! Excuse Me?!!! Was he really gonna pull that “loyalty” bullshit on my son for not taking off his hat during the national anthem? Uh…..no. I don’t think so. If it's such a crime for him not taking off his hat then just tell him to remove it next time, and move on thank you very much. And by the way, loyalty and respect come from within, it’s not judged by whether or not you’re wearing a hat during the national anthem. Are you kidding me? Yes I understand that under the United States penal code Title 36, Chapter 10, you're supposed to remove your hat during the national anthem. Personally, I think it's a stupid law. However, the interesting thing is there were many people around my son that had their hats on during the national anthem. So what exactly was the purpose of this officer to point HIM out of the crowd of so many hat wearers during the national anthem? Maybe the officer was upset with my son for having on a Cal Berkeley Bears hat? Or maybe because he is a skinny 6’2” tall kid that sticks out like a sore thumb? Possibly, because he’s a half Black/Asian kid that looks ethnically ambiguous? Am I in the wrong here to feel that my son may have been discriminated against in some way, shape, or form? This really does not sit well with me because he is not only MY kid, but he is A kid. So what if he didn't remove his hat during the national anthem? He didn't know and no one around him told him to either. Seems to me that everyone else may not have known as well, obviously, because they all kept heir hats on. But none of them got hashed for it. That is unfair and unjust. You see, this kind of thing really makes me lose all hope in authority altogether. Despite my own beliefs in the system as it is, I feel as though I truly can’t count on the authority if I, or loved ones, were really in trouble and needed them. It’s ludicrous to know how so many police officers hide behind their badges and take advantage of their so-called “power”, or should I just say ‘power trip”. I am not a cop hater and I’ve never had any run-ins with the law, and I also have many family friends who are cops so this is not written to bash them. However, when it comes to defending and owning my rights as well as my kid’s rights, I don’t like to be fucked with. I won’t stand in silence when I believe that I’ve been wronged in some way. And when my kids are treated unjustly, then I feel treated unjustly. Honestly, it’s circumstances like this that makes me DO hate cops. It was absolutely unnecessary and uncalled for him to do that. Next time, my son will take off his hat during the national anthem since it's technically the law. In my opinion, it's just plain etiquette for showing your respect for a flag, but if you don't want to you shouldn't have to. But that's just my opinion. And also next time, hope this officer doesn't just single out one person, a kid, for not knowing something.
Sweet lucid dreaming.....good nite!
