For this most recent competition “Loving Mom” I’m seeing a lot of entrees that are just showing a mom can clean and cook (Basically a housewife). I don’t come from a typical family where mom cleans and cooks and that’s the end of it. She has a job in a hospital so she’s basically busy 24/7. I feel like people are just submitting a stereotype that a loving mom is ONLY someone who cleans and cooks. Any thoughts or feelings?
I made mine look how my mom would look. She'd wear an army shirt and carry around a dino plush

I love the second and third set, but the first one looks too weird and slightly mismatched
as much as Id like to see love nikki devs correctly represent cultural outfits I dont really see the BIG fuss
like the game is based in a fantasy world inspired by real countries and cultures, not actually 100% based in them, so naturally the outfits are going to be inspired by those cultures, not 100% accurately reflecting them
another thing is that ln has been doing this to just about every country and culture (primarily chinese, japanese, american and certain eureopean cultures)
(these are just a few examples)
but no one really said anything until it came down to different native/arab cultures and as a part native girl its really 🤔 to me
I personally am most upset at how they treat wasteland. In other versions the mcs were worried about cannibals. Even after they changed that the dialouge is still iffy. They use the word primitive a lot and act as if wasteland is less civilized than the other kingdoms.
Still it is true that they arent accurate with other cultures outfits. When i first saw the uproar i thought about the pope outfit. And the nun outfit too. Like im pretty sure the pope is a Big Fucking Deal in the catholic world, but people arent upset about that.
^^ I dont read much of the dialouge but if thats true that kinda sucks! like I understand what they mean, our people did go on for many many years without some of the technology other cultures had and we WERE somewhat cut off from those cultures but “primitive” is a bit of an ugly word to use. we werent going around dragging our knuckles and hurling poop. we just didnt need that technology to thrive (that being said, not all tribes are the same and I cant speak for all of them, this is just a bit of a generalization)
but yeah thats another thing no one talks about, east asian countries tend to depict catholics (typically nuns) in a sexualized or incorrect way. thats one thing my original post doesnt apply to. religion is an extremely sacred part of ones culture, whereas other parts may not be. I dont care if its only inspired by an actual religion, its still super important to represent that religion as accurately as possible, and this

No it’s also not accurate but “sexy nun” is not nearly as harmful as as “sexy native (in a headdress)” . For one there’s the massive statistic of native girls being raped and assaulted because of the “sexy native” trope. You could probably compare the sacredness of the feathered headdress and the Pope’s hat but I’m neither Cristian nor native so I won’t go there. IMO it’s the difference in stereotypes and perpetuating bad ones
if youre not native OR catholic I would refrain from making statements comparing the two. both are extremely harmful and both cultures are just as important
All in all the treatment of western religioun and Native American culture in the game is shameful.
I grew up in a Catholic family so I was really uncomfortable with the nun and the pope outfit.
But as someone who has relitives and friends that are Native American, I was mortified at the outfits.
Do they just not research what is considered okay and appropriate to use or do they look up cringy sexy Halloween outfits from Amazon?
i dont speak for all native folks, but i do want to give my personal opinion
with all this wasteland discourse going on, i will say while I do have my oppositions about these suits, im not asking people to hold off on collecting them! you can complete them, collect the diamonds, then never use them again. you can use different pieces of them and not use others (i would however refrain from using the whole thing)
i know some people may have mixed feelings about the whole thing so all I have to say is: do what you personally feel is right! im always here to answer questions if needed
New Event for LN Mar. 21 - Mar. 27
Ruin Island will hold a singer competition since Mar 21 after the update. The event will last until Mar 27 11:59pm. By repeatedly clearing stages in the event map, you can collect Dimension Cubes and then exchange the outfits.
The event itself is broken down into two parts - personality test and styling battles. After answering a series of questions in the personality test, you’ll get 50% off either 1 of the 2 sets depending on your choice. You can take the test as many times you want before ‘Claim’ the discount.
The styling battles is a little more challenging because your score not only needs to be higher than your opponent, but WITHIN A CERTAIN RANGE HIGHER. My tip is: Use your skills very strategically, or not at all.
5 free attempts per day per stage; no stamina needed. Also, you can buy Dimension Cubes directly in the User’s Shop.

My outfit for this contest. I know everyone is going to use this event's pieces for it, but I like using what I've already got. Plus it's kinda stupid to put up a theme that correlates with an event because not everyone is given the chance to collect the event pieces for the theme. Not to mention it's really not creative at all. I mean I know they're limited on what themes to use, but at least give people a damn chance to collect the pieces for a theme like this!
