At first, I was told there were no rooms ready when I went to check in (I was a bit early), but then the guy behind the counter said actually, there was one, and an upgraded one at that, but it was right by the elevators. I said I didn't care about that... and I meant it, even though I quickly figured out why they were so eager to offload it. I can imagine someone else, especially someone who paid for an upgraded room complaining about the near constant rumbling of the elevators. :-p But it really didn't bother me. Particularly at night, it just reminded me of the thunderstorm ambience videos on YouTube that I like to put on when going to sleep. :-p And, I got this super sweet bathroom out of the deal! I already miss that tub so much!

Perhaps a little late with this but I did jet off to Vegas very early the next morning. :-p (And I was already so tired from trying to pull Christmas together and all.) However, thank you to everyone for the birthday wishes. I think I've made my peace with turning 50... but, admittedly, I still happily accept all the, "What? 50? No way!" types of comments I can get. :-p

This is just me posing with my birthday cake at the end of the day on the 25th. I had no energy for makeup. :-p

One does not simply go from Vegas to Maryland and not need a few days to readjust.

All I'm saying is, I don't think I can trust a bud tender who doesn't immediately think of Monty Python at the mere mention of "elderberry."

Today is a very special day: the 50th anniversary of me escaping my Mother's womb and entering the world. So happy birthday to me! And you know, merry something or other... :-p
