Back by popular (?) demand, more Granada Holmes fanart, this time from the second episode, The Dancing Men.
Side note: This series casts some of the most beautiful women I’ve ever seen to act their fucking asses off. Hits every time.

Film People Not Currently Listed On The Nonagenarians and Centenarians Website
I am a regular visitor to the website titled Nonagenarians and Centenarians (genarians.com). It contains the names of famous people of all walks of life who are over the age of 90. Outside of the usual legends, there are names of lesser-known film people that are missing from the website and rather than pester the webmaster to constantly update the site, I'd like to set up the list of people who I feel are integral in the world of film and entertainment in general born up to 1935, as the 1936 page is still underway. Rest well, Mr. Burke 💛
[ID: A collage of five details of digital art showing David Burke as Dr Watson. /end ID]
One of the finest and most beloved Watsons ever to grace the screen has passed away. David Burke was 91 years old, just shy of his 92nd birthday, and he is survived by his wife Anna Calder-Marshall and his son Tom Burke.
By all accounts, he was a gentleman and a wonderful human being. He could have stayed on to play Watson much longer, which would have made many of us very happy, but he chose to leave the show to be nearer to his family, especially since Tom was very young at the time.
His was not the first intelligent and competent Watson, but this version marked a turning point in mainstream depictions, from comedic sidekick to a hero in his own right.
RIP, dear sir. You will be missed. Thank you for everything.

i have now listened to both podcasts linked above, and they really are lovely. bookmarked both sites so i can listen to more. (already listened to the brettcon panel about patrick gower's music, 11/10 rec)
I'm so glad! The Jeremy Brett Sherlock Holmes Podcast is really a must-listen for Granada fans — at this point, they're an oral history of the show, and it's amazing. <3
And IHOSE... well, IHOSE is just great for Sherlockiana in general. And I'm not just saying that because I had a segment on it for a while. :D Scott and his cohost Burt are really lovely people and good friends of mine now, too, and their show has done a lot for the fandom over the years. <3
Rest in peace David Burke 🕊️🥀
