I know right? We’re without a doubt Broadway’s it couple. Like a modern Sutton Foster and Christian Borle! Without the all the cheating, obviously. Though now I think about it, I would be a perfect Emmet if Legally Blonde ever returned to Broadway...

I know it was my choice, I wasn’t trying to make it sound like I resent it at all. I’ve only been looking after him for as long as you did when he was born, I’m just trying to do my bit. I’m glad I’m not as awful at this whole dad thing as I thought I might be.

Please, Joshua is every bit as obsessed with you as I am. I think the thing we bond over more than anything is our love for you, honestly. Though I would love to be our sons favorite, especially as I’m giving up prime broadway time to basically be his butler, its just not the case.

He’s literally named after Sondheim, if his favorite is anything other than Sunday or Into The Woods it’d be a travesty. I haven’t sung him to sleep with Sondheim classics his whole life for nothing.

Babe, I think you may have been a stay at home dad for a little too long if our two year olds movie preferences are bothering you. I’m just happy he’s obsessed with any Lion King movie and not Boss Baby anymore.

..Perhaps. I mean, give it a few years and he’ll have to decide between Funny Girl and Sunday In The Park With George which is where we’ll really start to see who’s mini-me this little cutie is.

I am entirely convinced however that he does prefer The Lion King 2 to The Lion King, which is quite frankly, bizarre. I’d be more understanding if he preferred 11/2 but 2? Absurd.

I’d tell you straight away if anything was actually wrong but he’s been as active as ever and he doesn’t have a temperature.

I worried about it the first 200 times too. He’s building up his little immune system and he’s still teething, it’s totally normal.

No, no. I get asked if I’m a single dad every time I’m out in public with this little guy. Women are super into the whole doting dad thing, who’d have guessed? It’d be entirely hypocritical of me to be jealous.

He’s had a super runny nose today so you have fun with that.

Okay, okay, just checking. I love how you come home and immediately tell me about your fans flirting with you through the medium of coffee though. This is like the love notes all over again.

Today a fan bought me coffee as I was on my way to work and honestly I can’t find a better way to top my day than heart shaped foam in my cup.

...You drank a gift from a fan? Did you see the coffee getting made in the shop or did someone just hand it to you in the street? Because fans put all sorts of weird crap in the food and drink they give to us celebrities, babe.

Probably best you stay at least three feet away from me and J until you’ve brushed your teeth. Just to stay on the safe side.

You are awful at doing laundry, let me please. He’s a little diva that’s for sure, a stubborn one like his father. Much like everything else about him, he’s a little you.

I’m not awful at anything. Granted, I could be better at laundry but if the clothes are clean and they still fit? That’s a success in my opinion. Oh? I think you’ll find that stubborn diva is a title that fits both of us equally as well. Please, he’s a diva that is simultaneously adorable and endearing, he’s a little you.

That is also the number one reason why I always do the laundry and am severely sleep deprived. That boy loves nap time with you though, so I would never want that to be taken away. Let’s test the water with the stubble before you even think about a small beard.

Well when you put it like that, it doesn’t sound great. I do the laundry sometimes! Besides, I’ll be doing all the laundry now I’m your house husband, for lack of a better word? Here’s to hoping I don’t shrink anything or dye stuff pink by mistake. I feel like he already thinks he’s an adult like us, so when we don’t nap with him he tries not to nap himself. Sleepy J is almost as cranky as his dad though and that’s never an ideal situation.

Never in my life did I think I would hear Jesse St. James say he was getting lazy. I am going to have to mark this down in our calendar! You’re either getting old or this boy of ours really has changed you! You’ve just been so clean shaven the entire time I’ve known you, it’ll be quite the transition but I’m most definitely for the opprutunity.

While you seem to have this great strategy where you get things done when J sleeps, I have this bad habit of napping with him. It drastically cuts down the amount of alone time I have to do simple things like that. I’m not planning on growing a substantial beard any time soon, don’t worry.

All I’m saying is that while you are extremely handsome no matter what, I am quite in love with your face when it is smooth. However I am sure it will grow on me.

What can I say, Dad Jesse is a stubble kinda guy. Also, I feel like I’m getting progressively lazier and shaving was the first thing to go. Besides, If I ever want to play George in the Sondheim classic Sunday In The Park With George, I need to get used to having some form of beard.
