The story of Deviltale in a very brief way:
The Deviltale story takes place in different time phases, so we'll start from the beginning with the story of Devil Sans.
In the underground, monsters are trapped after a war with humans like in the classic Undertale story. The history does not change much, the only difference is that humans are angels (pure, peaceful beings) and monsters are demons (aggressive and unclean).
Another difference between the original and this world is that this AU is not a game. There is no reset or checkpoint or LV.
The story begins with a human girl named Lilian falling underground. Lilian is a grown woman and one of the few people who still has angelic powers because, as we learn later, humans have been losing their magic over time because they have become corrupt. Lilian wanders the underground with her broken wing, which Toriel has healed, and encounters various monsters from the underground. At first, they all seem hostile and wary, but over time, Lilian gains their favor with her willingness and kind nature, and thus wins the heart of Sans. After a long time, Lilian and Sans came to Asgore, and thanks to her soul, which is the last one left, the monsters come back to the surface among the people.
People were initially terrified, but Asgore told everyone that they were going in peace, and so negotiations began between the President and Asgore. The world the monsters came to was no longer what it used to be because people started relying on technology when they lost their magic and without negativity to fight against, it started to create itself in people and so now people are normal people and not angels. However, there are still exceptions like Lilian.
The President and Asgore agreed that the monsters would be allowed to stay, but they would be restricted by being forbidden from using magic since humans no longer had it. Over time, however, more prohibitions against the monsters began to emerge, and they had to comply. People still perceived them as dangerous and so the monsters slowly began to be oppressed. One of the main prohibitions was mixed couples. However, this prohibition was violated by Lilian and Sans who secretly got engaged and during this time living in seclusion they fathered a child.
This is how Black's story begins. Unfortunately, Lilian did not survive the birth and Sans was left alone with his son Black. Black had a few problems from a young age because he was a combination of something that did not belong together, a human and a monster, an angel and a demon, there was a strong power in him which of course had its consequences. Black suffered from frequent pains in his soul as it cracked. The older he got, the more powerful he became and the more unstable his body became. Despite all this, he was happy and lived a happy life with his father.
Until one person who hated Sans decided to take action. He attack Sans when he was at home and kill him. While Sans was dying he let his magic infuse Black to protect him. Black saw his father die and saw the person set the house on fire. For Black it was the end of the world, he was only 10 years old. Since then, he lived on the streets and hated people more and more as he got older. Life on the streets showed him what kind of monsters people really are.
At the age of 15, he became a member of a gang and began to massively murder people and rob black markets. Over time, he became a feared and wanted criminal and he is still so today. Black is already 20 but he has experienced so much atrocity and hatred that it will mark him for the rest of his life. Black wants revenge and so he kills, but eventually he gets tired of it. The only reason he returns to his world is to put flowers on the graves of his father and mother.
