Baldface Lodge, nestled in the Selkirk range of the West Kootenay’s near Nelson, British Columbia. Peak height of 7,678 feet with 3,100 vertical feet of ridable pow over 32,000 acres.
Three young men with a vision, to explore and build a backcountry adventure playground sharing their passion in mountain safety with complete freedom. The lodge has its roots deeply embedded in the snowboard (and extreme freestyle skiers) history and culture, with vintage snowboards lining the walls from the decades, each board telling a story. As if the paintings and sketches from artist Jamie Lynn weren’t enough to induce you into a snow globe feeling, old photographs decorate the walls so we can all remember how cool the 1990’s really were. Echoing down the halls you can hear the strumming guitars and the tech shop talk with a scent of fresh wax. It’s no wonder you feel the sentiment of excitement with views that take your breath away.
It’s truly impressive what delicious fine dinning you can experience 6,750 feet above sea level. The wine list, the whisky shelf, and the daily menu are specially curated for the winter chills. There is certainly no shortage of games either, from cribbage to pool to foosball to ping pong to jenga to some outdoor Canadian ice sliding shuffle pucks. It is the ultimate lodge life of endless* late night pizza parties, Champagne (powder), and a sauna to soak it all in, fireworks included.
