Año 2222, la tecnología ha alcanzado su más grande avance hacia lo que debería ser una nueva época dorada, el mundo se recupera de la transición orquestada por el irresponsable uso que el consumismo desencadeno y la materialización que la oxidación en el ambiente generó. Ahora con la erradicación de los potenciales riesgos, grandes progresos en salud, transporte, seguridad e interacción, han cambiado con esperanza el estilo de vida de los ciudadanos y solo unos pocos se han mostrado reacios frente a las mejoras o insatisfechos con lo recibido, pero incapaces de direccionar sus preocupaciones al rumbo correcto. El consejo de herederos encargado de proteger los intereses colectivos y proveer de soluciones al actual gobierno, se ha solidificado con su secreto grupo de elite, denominado la Agencia Especial para la Vida, especializada en diversas artes, siendo capaces de unir gobiernos, combatir los despojos de lo que alguna vez fue el crimen y mantener en forma el reglamento que por años ha protegido al Zen -el mayor centro de distribución de datos y fuente de poder que ha hecho posible que lo inimaginable reine en este mundo.

Find Your Writing Process

You need to have a writing process to get down and write your novel, so how do you start? NaNoWriMo guest writer Esther Wildman has some tips on helping you find your writing process.

“Write every day. Write your draft in three months or less. You need an outline to write a novel. Don’t outline, just write.”

Somewhere along your journey as a writer, you’ve probably heard or seen lots of pieces of advice like these and more. Before I started to write my first novel, I felt overwhelmed by all of the writing advice I was seeing, much of it conflicting with each other. I thought I wouldn’t be able to tell my story if I didn’t follow a specific formula. But the truth is, there is no one right way to write a novel. There are so many ways one can write because writing is so individual. Whether you prefer to write everyday, only during NaNoWriMo, or anywhere in between, you get words onto the page. Two drafts or six drafts, detailed outline or no outline, different processes work for different people and different stories.

Submit Your Novel to Pitchapalooza!

Ready to pitch your novel to the pros? Here’s a message from The Book Doctors to tell you how!

You wrote your 50,000 words (or close!). You’re a winner. You felt the high. Now what are you going to do with your precious manuscript? That’s where we, The Book Doctors, come in.

For those of you unfamiliar with Pitchapalooza, here’s the skinny: You get 250 words to pitch your book. Twenty pitches will be randomly selected from all submissions. We will then critique the pitches during a live webinar on March 13, 12PM PT, so you get to see what makes a great pitch. At the end of the webinar, we will choose one winner from the group.

The winner will receive an introduction to an agent or publisher appropriate for his/her manuscript.

Beginning February 1, 2021, you can email your pitch to [email protected]. PLEASE DO NOT ATTACH YOUR PITCH, JUST EMBED IT IN THE EMAIL. Include your title and your name at the top of your pitch. All pitches must be received by 11:59PM PT on February 28, 2021.
