this has been my whole life for the last 10 weeks and to say i've grown tired of it would...actually be wrong. I've never had this much fun on a project, problem solving, collaborating, making it... this was gratifying in every sense of the word. sure, there were bumps, but i had fun! and so many people enjoyed this too and i am forever grateful for them as well...

also, name reveal! it's in both the cover and the last page spread, but honestly refer to me as you wish!

next post from me will include process work regarding this comic!

i do love how spidey clearly did have a loving family, and that loving family was partly why she grew so attached to her subsequent found family. it's obvious she thinks the world of her dad & from what we know about him, he adores her too. he loved her enough to make sure she didn't have to see him turn, to save her from the horde that would eventually swarm their camp. she might feel guilty for leaving, but he told her to leave for a reason.

and jonathan reminding spidey of her father is important, because i truly don't think she would have trusted him so quickly if he didn't. for all we hear about her being so trusting, she doesn't actually seem to trust anyone outside of their trio (at least not at the same level.) otherwise, would she really see 4c and jonathan as all she had left? trusting jonathan is easy though. jonathan knows what he's doing. jonathan's like her dad: a hardass, but with a heart of gold.

thinking about 4c too, we gotta go back to before the series, because being a traveler doesn't really allow for a lot of long-term friendships (especially in the apocalypse). her struggle with making friends, her loneliness, her obvious abandonment issues, i don't think it's unrelated to her upbringing. so becoming friends with 4c even after he forgets her over and over again, it would be so refreshing. if he sticks with her through all that, then he must be a true friend, right?

the way spidey's bio family & her found family are intertwined is just so special to me. i need to know more about her backstory and her dad right now :((
