I might make a little exception, I mean you aren’t exactly the worst kisser so. Well, could you? I’d want a lot of break up songs written about me though, like throw all the shade like T. Swift does. That is if you could break up with me. I hear I’m quite the catch and kind of a keeper.

I would, but, I’m trying to show I can fucking do this without messing it up. But this guy is just ridiculously difficult and he makes me want to punch someone. And I don’t want to look like a prissy artist ya know? So, I’m trying to suck it up but it’s really getting difficult.

That’s the highest praise I’ve ever gotten. Hope I hold up sober, too. I’d only have a little trouble. I mean, I think if any artist has a right to be prissy it’s a tattoo artist, your work is going on this dumb man forever, think it’s less pris more caring about what you do. But I can see where telling him to fuck off isn’t the best course of action.

“I hope it will be, or I might have to consider starting a band without you,” Rhys warned with a playful grin showing shortly after he spoke. He had no doubts that this would be worth the trip, Jared looked like the kind of man that you’d see on stage, possibly singing ballads or Smash Mouth, but all together he was made for it Rhys thought. “Well, get ready to sign loads of tits, ‘cause this place is loaded down with them,” he said and motioned his finger around the bar at all of the women that were there, of course there were men too and he had no doubts they’d be all over Jared too, honestly who wouldn’t. “Try not to get too hammered and forget the lyrics, kid,” he said and poked lightly at Jared’s thigh for a moment before pulling his hand away, placing it back around his beer bottle. “Hold on, you mean to tell me that I came all the way here to see you play and I’m not even getting an Oasis song?” Rhys asked, acting as if he were truly offended by such a thing. “I only came down here to hear Wonderwall, guess I’m leaving now,” the Italian boy said and acted as if he were about to leave only to shut up and sit himself back down. “Well, I bought a lighter on the way, so you know I can wave it around when you’re singing, hope that’s not too much.”

“Good luck finding someone who matches your level of MouseRat appreciation like I do. But here’s hoping that’s not necessary. “ He laughed, unwinding more and more as he spoke with the other. Had to keep check his watch, couldn’t very well be late for his own performance, but it was way too easy just to fall into a conversation with Rhys and lose track of the world going on outside of them. “If I end up getting angry looks from at least two boyfriends the night is going to be a total success, honestly.” Jared wasn’t looking forward to directly after he was finished, though. Once people stopped cheering at started swarming, it was his least favorite part of what he did. He’d already be out of breath from being on stage, trying to smile and talk to anyone that wanted to come up to him to tell him something or the other, and he just wanted to sit down and drink a gallon of water.  He laughed at that, would be sure to tell the other the story after the night was over, he was hoping he’d get to spend more time one on one with him when all was said and done tonight, and the crowd had cleared out. “I’ll do my best, no promises though.” Jared let out a laugh at the show. “Stick around and I’ll give you a private show, even throw in Champagne Supernova for good measure.  I don’t think it’s too much, but then again I might just want to have someone wave the first lighter at one of my shows. I’ve had cellphone flashlights before, which blind you, but never an honest to god lighter. I can appreciate the classic.” He checked his phone again,chewing on the inside of his lip seeing the short amount of time he actually had before going on.

“Trust me, it wasn’t easy to get around that schedule. But I couldn’t miss this,” Rhys said as he took a seat on the stool next to Jared. “Surprised you’re not at the bathroom doing some VIP meet and greets at the moment, but I guess it makes sense to do it after a show,” Rhys said before he took a sip of his beer and sat it on the bar top. “So,” Rhys began as he looked at the boy with a smile on his face. “Are you nervous about this?” Dumb question he as sure, he couldn’t imagine it being exactly an easy thing to know you’d soon be the center of attention of a room full of people ready to put all of their focus on you. But then again, Rhys hated being the center of attention so anything like that would cause him to go into a panic of the sorts. 

“Well color me flattered, hope you end up thinking it was worth the effort.” Jared laughed, they were of course joking when it came to the band, but he was really glad to see the other had shown up, just to see him play. Hoped he could make it worth it.  “Yep, that’s not till after the encore, got to give them what they came for first.” He grinned, turning more towards the other as he spoke. “Nervous? Yeah, a little, but I always am a little right before a show. Just glad this isn’t my first go around. And this-” He took a sip of his drink. “-helps a ton to get rid of those nerves. As long as I stick to one, at least.” Learned that the hard way after ruining a fairly big night for himself last year after getting just a little too drunk to see the strings on his guitar anymore.  “More excited than anything, since I get to play my own stuff tonight. If someone likes what they hear it means they’re just a fan of mine, not of whoever I’m covering, y’know?”

As promised, Rhys was going to make his appearance at the Satellite tonight to see Jared perform. After his brief encounter with Danny, Rhys managed to get himself home and showered, changed, and ate some leftover Chinese food to satisfy him. He didn’t want to seem too eager to get down to the event, he didn’t need Jared thinking he was overly excited about going down to see him and this gig, but he was tired of just sitting around his house waiting for time to pass. So ordering an Uber and grabbing a small jacket, he slipped it over his white button down that complemented his destroyed jeans that were rolled at the ankles with his doc martens, a true hipster if you’d ever seen one really. After making sure his dog had food and water, Rhys grabbed his phone and keys and made his way out once the Uber had texted him that they had arrived. He got inside and gave the address before they were off to the event. Rhys could feel himself smiling like an idiot the whole way there - couldn’t really stop himself. After what seemed like a lifetime he finally arrived and made his way inside and to the bar, there he saw a familiar face and grinned even wider than he had, Making it a point to not be seen, Rhys ordered himself a beer and tried sneaking his way around so that Jared wouldn’t see him, and when he was close enough behind him the boy leaned into Jared’s ear and whispered in a husky and awful tone of voice, “Hey hot stuff.”

Jared didn’t see anyone, but it was still a good chunk of time before he was supposed to go on,he’d just been there for hours. The crowd was slowly growing, some people he’d seen at other shows he’d done, others total strangers, probably just guests looking to check out the entertainment.  There were a few people from work he’d invited, and some friends, and he was hoping everyone that could would be there, but he was particularly hoping to see Rhys there. He hadn’t seen him since he had stayed over the other’s, so he was definitely excited at the idea of the other coming tonight after their conversation on twitter..And not just because he wanted the chance to impress him with his performance, even if that was in the back of his mind. Just wanted to see him again. Liked being around the other. He turned back to the bar to take a sip of his drink, pulling out his phone to check the time, scroll through his timeline just to kill some time until he was set to go on, when he heard a voice in his ear, jumping slightly before turning and smiling at the other. “Hey there. Glad you made it, with all these secret auditons you’ve been holding for our other band members and all.”

The Satellite || Open

Jared really hadn't  been except the call from the coordinator, but he couldn't pass up a show at the Satelittle. The pay wasn't great but the exposure was enough. And if he was well received it could become a regular thing for a while, and it had the chance for someone who could really start his career to hear him play. So he'd shifted his schedule around some, and fit in the show. He'd even been offered a room for the night since the show was starting and ending late. It was a lot more exciting than his normal open mic nights and small bar concerts. If only because he'd be on an actual stage with a setup for concerts. And because he was getting to play most of his own stuff tonight, hated saying it because he sounded like a narcissist, but he loved a lot of his songs, and liked playing them better than covers.  He had aboutbforty minutes before he was supposed to go on, and he couldn't spend anymore time in his room practicing,  so Jared made his way into the crowd, nobody was really going to recognize him and crowd him, a luxury of being an unknown act and to the bar in the back, ordering a drink before turning to scan the crowd for anyone he knew there,
