Jae: You might be right. Some of them seem kind of legit though. Jae: Still not sure I need sunscreen inside but you're too good to me. I'll try it. For your sake. Jae: I'll even order takeout.
Ji: I am right. Hyung is always right. Ji: You should put it on every morning. Ji: Takeout? What should we eat? Nothing too heavy or I won't be able to skate tomorrow~~
TAEMIN - The 5th Mini Album ‘ETERNAL‘ Trailer: Motion ver. [X]
Jae: Wearing sunscreen inside sounds like a scam from big pharma or something. Jae: Uh. The cheapest kind I can find at the corner store? I've also had the same bottle for a few years so I might not be the best judge. Jae: Are you saying you have a favorite sunscreen brand?
Ji: You sound like you've been reading too many conspiracy theories on facebook. Ji: I have an extra bottle of the one I like. It's good for dry skin since the ice is very drying. I'll bring it over so you can try it.
Jae: ... Every day? Jae: Hypothetically, what if one decided to just stop going outside? I don't like leaving my apartment anyway. Jae: I mean, hypothetically.
Ji: Every day!! How do you not know this?? 😭 Ji: UV rays can reach you through your windows. And you need vitamin d from the sun so you can't just keep the blinds closed. Ji: What brand of sunscreen do you like? I'm writing it down so I can pick it up later.
Jae: I didn't think I'd need it. Jae: I wasn't out *that* long. Jae: Now I have regrets.
Ji: You need it every day!! Ji: Even if you're not out long Ji: Hyung is bringing sunscreen to your apartment after practice.
Jae: I made the mistake of going outside during daylight hours earlier Jae: Why is it so hot? Jae: Why do I live in a place that gets so hot that my skin burns? Jae: I'm never going outside again.
Ji: Don't you use sunscreen?? Ji: Hyung will bring you sunscreen next time.
TAEMIN - JUICE (FaceCam, Inkigayo, 230702)
The songs changed, changing the rhythm of the crowd and Jiwoo pushed his way back to his seat.
"Yeah," Ian nodded, fingers darting to his drink without looking, unwilling to let go of the tentative connection that made his stomach swoop with electricity while Jiwoo was on the dancefloor. Something uncomfortably close to desire. "You make it look too effortless." The dominant laughed, elbow placed on the bar, leaning closer.
"Alright, let's see what you have for me." A lazy sort of smirk touched at the corners of his mouth. "Dare."
The air between them felt different for some reason that Jiwoo couldn't quite put his finger on. It was heavier, but not unpleasantly so, like heat coming from a stovetop as something simmers. "I'd be bad at my job if I couldn't make it look effortless," he said with a smile before reaching for his jack and coke for a sip.
Dare. Ji hadn't thought that far ahead and now needed to think of something worthy of that smirk on Ian's face.
"I dare you...to choose someone in this room and put your best moves on them." The least he could do to repay Ian's kindness in bringing a sad widower out to party would be to be a decent wingman. Right?
He watched Jiwoo take to the floor, a grin still peppering the corners of his lips. Someone’s hands landed on the sub’s hips and Ian’s grip on his glass tightened, body coiled to step in to interfere when Jiwoo shook his head a subtle no, and looked back at Ian. Their eyes met, and the hockey player felt unsteady in his seat. He didn’t let his eyes weaver, however, a silent assurance that Jiwoo was still his to watch over.
The sight of Jiwoo, so vulnerable yet strong, unexpectedly beautiful and graceful in the dim bar light, stirred something deep within him. He swallowed hard, taking another sip of his drink to steady himself. Was there something wrong with looking? He didn’t think so. So what if he let his gaze linger over Jiwoo’s body, taking in the elongated curves of his body, the narrow line of his hips as Ji swayed with the music. Ian licked his lip, eyes climbing back towards the other’s face and smiled quietly.
Ian's eyes held weight on Jiwoo's form, as if his line of sight were made of the heaviest of metals, but it wasn't uncomfortable. On the contrary, Jiwoo felt secure, safe to maneuver however he wanted. And perhaps, somewhere beneath that security, there was an inkling of something else, something primal that had slumbered since the funeral dirge of Adrien's death lullabied it to sleep.
Oh to be seen as a man once more.
When the song ended, Ji made his exit from the dance floor, flushed and smiling, warmth spread throughout his body. When he sat down, he took one of the shots and threw it back, even though he'd chosen dare. "Are you satisfied, hyung?" he asked with a grin. "If so, the question remains. Truth or dare?"
“Where’s the fun in playing fair?” Ian’s brows did a daring sweep upwards. Hiding behind his drink, Ian swiped a hand across his lips, eyes fixated on the flush on the sub’s cheeks. Was it hot in here? Maybe a bit. He could feel the way the heat was spreading on the back of his neck coupled with the liquor it wasn’t quite unpleasant. It only him feel present, in the moment.
He was almost surprised by Jiwoo’s answer, but maybe he shouldn’t have been. There was a fire in Jiwoo that Ian had completely missed before, even if he was nervous. He’d come to the bar anyway, hadn’t he? “Alright.” The dominant blew out a soft breath, eyes sparkling with mischief. He didn’t want to push him too much right from the start: “I dare you to dance to whatever song comes next.” He offered, the ‘dancefloor’ was just a few steps away, hardly a walk at all, enough that Ian had clear view.
"It's no wonder you're always in the penalty box," Jiwoo said, grinning. He was a little surprised by the dare he received, wondering if Ian was taking it a little easy on him. "You want me to dance? Well, it'd be more fun if i had a partner but I suppose you won't be joining me."
With a dramatic sigh, he rose from his seat and made his way to what served as a dance floor. Jiwoo was always aware of his body, his lines, the way they moved. Years of ballet and figure skating drilled that into his brain for good. Even in a dive bar, the most informal of settings on a Friday night, he was conscious of the way his hips swayed, arms above his head to give clarity to the S-shape his body created.
When he felt hands on his hips, he turned to face an interested stranger and put some distance between them, shaking his head in what he hoped was a polite way. Those hands were not Adrien's hands and something in that still felt wrong, even months later. He looked to Ian, just to make sure he was still near, just for a fleeting feeling of security, a sign he wasn't alone in this scary new world he'd danced into.
He nodded, lost to the conversation as Ian's eyes followed where Jiwoo pulled his hair back, revealing the long line of his neck. It made him seem swanlike, improbably graceful for his surroundings.
"What, I gotta pick just one?" Ian grinned, stalling the answer as he looked around. His type usually consisted of people who wanted to come home with him and choosy Ian was not, even if there were plenty of photos online of him and a different flavor of models or socialites each week. Did Jiwoo know about his reputation? Ian figured that was unlikely. "Hm, I don't know, I just learned the hottest guy in here isn't even in the crowd, so why pick?" He winked at the sub, laughing.
"Alright, your turn. Truth or dare?"
Jiwoo laughed, a pleased blush adorning his skin. "I'm not sure that counts as an answer to my question," he teased, though it seemed to him like an answer that was brilliantly Ian. "I guess you don't play fair. I should have expected that." He took a sip of his jack and coke. It surprised him sometimes just how much he liked Ian. Sometimes his like was weighed down by wondering what it would have been like to spend time together when Adrien was alive. Ji pushed the thought aside. Adrien still owned so much of him, but his time was Ian's right now.
"Dare," he said with a smile. "Since you seemed disappointed last time and I can't have that." He was a little nervous for what Ian might come up with, but he trusted that he was more than safe in the dominant's hands.
Ending Fairy ✦ Guilty Music Core 231111
It took a second for the words to truly register in his mind before Ian laughed. "Really? That's your secret" He shook his head: "I guess I've never figured to pull ice hockey as a move before." Then again...he couldn't say it wasn't attractive. Both the skill required to do what Jiwoo did, and the beauty of it. His fault for never paying attention to figure skating before, right?
His eyes naturally traced down to where Ji's hair fell - touching his shoulders. Ian felt the full weight of his attention, it was exciting to be part of this game - almost as much as it was to put his skate on the ice before a match. Jiwoo's hand was gone too soon, but Ian's eyes didn't leave the other's face:
"Me?" He considered it and reached for a second shot: "Truth."
"I guess if it didn't work, I could have just flashed my silver olympic medal. It's not gold, but it probably would still work," Ji replied with a grin. Ian's laugh was nice to hear, and bringing that sound out of the dominant was even nicer.
When Ian picked truth, Ji hummed with thought as he reached back to tie his hair back up off his neck. It really was starting to bother him. "If you weren't here with me tonight, who in this crowded room would you be putting your moves on?" He wondered a little bit what Ian's type was. Out of Adrien's teammates, he couldn't ever recall seeing Ian with a partner like some of the others who had gone on double dates with him and Adrien. And maybe he wanted to know what Ian was sacrificing to take him out tonight.
