Don't Mention It | Donghae, Jea & Jia
Being kind of lost in his own thoughts the Guardian abruptly got woken up from them by the typical ring-tone sounding up in his right ear. Jerking in his seated position Donghae let out a sound of surprise. Completely having forgotten that he was still wearing his suit the male also hadn’t thought anymore about the earpiece which he was still wearing in his right ear. Relaxing in his seat again when it processed that he had a call, he reassured Jia that everything was alright with stating that he had a call. Which he probably should pick up. Watching how the female stood up from the couch and went to his bedroom to give him some privacy, Donghae then picked-up. “Hello?” He questioned in a neutral tone as he stared in front of him. A small frown visible on his face. It was a silence that followed his words, but before he was able to say something else his name got spoken in a familiar voice. Tensing up a bit as he recognized the voice he replied with a neutral “Yes?”. Having had some trouble with keeping his voice neutral, due to everything what had happened before, he was glad that he had at least managed that. Kind of expecting anything coming from her now, because well the woman on the other side of the line had kissed and shot him in the very same day, Donghae reached out to the Guardian side in him. Getting the thought that maybe she needed a Guardian for whatever the hell it was that she needed right now, what followed was actually an apology. Looking down at the table in front of him as he heard that Donghae forced himself to relax a bit in his tense position. “Me too.” He breathed out. Remaining silent together with her, he then got the question whether or not he was okay. The thought that came up in him was ‘no’, but of course he didn’t voice that one out. “I’m healed.” He therefore said having relaxed completely into his position now despite the conversation still being an awkward and tense one. Hearing how she sighed and then apologized once more to him, telling him that she was sorry for everything the memory of them kissing in the apartment came back to him. “Everything?” He questioned her while hoping that she didn’t mean that. Their kiss hadn’t been a mistake for him. If it was for her, well, that would be make the cherry on top of the pile of mess wouldn’t it?
Feeling how his guard lowered a bit when she told him that she was sorry for almost everything, it lowered completely when she continued and told him that she had lost it. That apparently her head hadn’t been fixed after all. Creasing his brows lightly at those words, Donghae felt how he wanted nothing more than to protect the woman. But never would he be able to protect her from her own fears or nightmares. He only could protect her physically. Not from her own head. “Then we need to learn to live with your head as it is now.” He answered her, voice sounding softer than it had done before that. The reply from her that her head did stupid things the way it was now, made the Guardian come up with a more uplifting comment. “It does. So no suit for you and no guns for you in the future.” But after hearing her agreeing with it, she then started to explain what had happened. Not being able to hold himself back while she was talking he asked her why she had shot him. “Why?” Listening to her explanation about how she had been scared and how her home wasn’t safe anymore, Donghae understood the woman’s reasoning. Heaving a sigh of his own because he should have thought of that himself, he figured that he had wanted to be more of a friend to her than a Guardian at that moment in time. Memorizing that he should be more of a Guardian in future situations which were like that, Donghae apologized to her once more. “I’m sorry. I should have thought of that.” Getting asked to answer in the future when she’d ask him something the Guardian remained silent for a second or two before telling her that he would. Finding it ironic how he had taken two seconds for that to answer her, Jea didn’t seem to notice however.
Her next question brought up a couple of possible answers in his mind, ranging from friend to Guardian-Superior to shooting disk, but instead of using one of them the male settled on “I love you.” As simple and plain as that was it was also the truth. What they were or what they were going to be, he did not know. The only thing he was sure of was that he loved her and that’s why he settled on answering that instead of choosing any of the other possibilities. “If you want me to be your Guardian, I’ll be your Guardian.” He added to that in the moment of silence that followed his words. “But I think you won’t be needing me anymore since you like to play Jane Dean.” Smiling lightly because she didn’t seem to know what he meant with ‘Jane Dean’ he told her that apparently she could take care of herself just fine since she could use guns. Smiling wider when he got the reply from her that she indeed knew how to handle a gun but that that didn’t mean that she knew how to protect herself the male repeated his previous words once more with actual warmth in his voice. “That’s true. So no guns or suit for you anymore. I’ll do the Guardian things, you’ll do the Superior things.”
"My contract is going to end next month. You need to give me a new contract if you want to keep me as your Guardian. It only lasted for a year, remember? If you don’t… Then I guess I won’t be your Guardian anymore." Was his reply to her question whether or not if he still wanted to be her Guardian. "If you don’t give me a new contract, then I can’t be your Guardian anymore." He simply stated next. Truth was that he didn’t really know right now or not if he still wanted to be her Guardian or not. Frowning lightly at her next words, he questioned her "What’s that supposed to mean?" Getting the reply that she was going to keep him for life if he’d decided to stay the male swallowed before replying, "Alright. But don’t shoot me anymore. Trust me." If the woman couldn’t give him that than Donghae couldn’t possibly agree with her buying him up. "You won’t do that anymore?" Getting the answer he wanted to hear from her he agreed then with her preposition. "Alright. Then you can buy me up." Adding a little bit later, "Then you’ll own me." Having to admit to the fact that she already owned him now too as she told him that she already did, Donghae stretched his legs a bit while he remained in his position in the couch. Answering with "Yes, noona." the moment she called him Donghae-ah, because if she used that tone to him than it usually meant that he could call her noona too, he frowned deeply at her next question. "What? A Superior? Why would I?" Not being fond of the idea at all, since he definitely didn’t want to be a Superior. The male then got to hear how he would be able to buy her up if he was a Superior. Finding this a really ridiculous thing, because in his point of view humans should all be equal, he answered. "No. I don’t want to be a Superior. Humans should be equal." Breathing out a small smile at her next words he hummed, "For a bit? No. Thanks. I think I’m gonna pass." Getting the reply that he should be one so they would be equals, he simply agreed with her. Finally getting what she had meant with her words. Listening to her as she told him that he could only be a Superior in the house and that they had to be careful, Donghae knew because of those words that Jea loved him. "I will be. We have to." He answered her with a soft smile, feeling glad that the woman apparently wanted to try a relationship with him. How that was going to end, they’d see later. For now he’d just enjoy the fact that she apparently wanted to try something with him.
Another silence fell in between them and although the previous ones had been awkward or tense, this one wasn’t at all. Breathing out a sigh as she questioned him about Jia, Donghae eyes flashed over to the bedroom door. “Yes.” He answered to her inquiry, eyes remaining on the door “I don’t really know for sure. She’s holding herself strong.” He told her then. Speaking the truth once more because he honestly didn’t know what Jia really was thinking or feeling. Hearing how Jea stated that she was sorry for what had happened, he was glad to hear her say that she didn’t regret kissing him. “Me neither.” He told her, not really wanting to talk about Jia with Jea nor the other way around, really. He’d like to keep his opinion regarding the two women separated from each other. “They were. You should have. But it happened.” He told her then as she voiced out her regret about the situation. Tearing his eyes away from the door after he had said that, the male just looked in front of him again. Falling silent for another moment an important question rose up in his mind then. “What do you want me to be, Jea?” Hearing her reply with ‘everything’ he repeated her. “Everything?” He questioned, “I can’t be everything.” he told her then feeling slightly amused. Glancing around his place his eyes landed on one of his chairs. “I can’t be a chair.” He therefore told her then, getting the reply that she still wanted to sit on him he disregarded the sexual connection his brain made because of that comment. “I can’t be a car.” He instead said, getting the reply that she still wanted to ride him this time around it was harder for him to disregard the connection his brain made. Being granted some lovely images by his own imagination, the male couldn’t help but grin. “I can’t be coffee.” He told her then as he tried his best to not make a sexual comment. When once more the Superior told him something which he could interpreted in a sexual manner, the male left out a short chuckle after which he told her to stop.
Luckily for him, however, the images he had in his mind vanished as quickly again as they had come up in him the moment the both of them had left the topic. Hearing how once more she addressed him with ‘Donghae-ah’ this time around he simply answered with “Noona.” Waiting for her to say what she wanted to say with a warm smile lying on his face now, he felt kind of sad when she told him that she should go to bed. She was right. He should go to bed. But talking like this with her on the phone was really nice. “You too.” He answered, however, thinking of how she probably was in dear need of some rest as well. Having to smile again when she questioned him whether or not they’d see each other in the morning, the Guardian easily replied to her, “Yes, I’ll see you in the morning.” Sighing lightly when she told him goodnight he returned the greeting. Waiting for her to hang up the two of them sat in silence for a while longer until suddenly Jea told him that she loved him. Feeling how warmth seeped through him at those words a content smile formed on his lips. But instead of answering her words with an ‘I love you too’ he repeated his previous once in a soft voice. “Good night. I’ll see you in the morning.” It didn’t take that long anymore after that for Jea to finally hang up and the moment she did Donghae took in a deep breath of air which he slowly released again afterwards.
Remaining in his position for a little while longer as he thought about their conversation, the male strangely enough did feel satisfied. Despite everything. Even though their conversation didn’t held any real promise and maybe tomorrow everything would be different again, for now it was not that case. Whether or not he’d be able to trust her fully once more he did not know now, he didn’t even want to think about that. All he wanted to do was just rest. Rest. Forget about today and the happenings for now and let them sink in. Let them sink in, think them through and then make a good decision. But such thing wasn’t granted to him because there was still someone else at his place. Heaving himself up from the couch the male walked over to his bedroom. Knocking on the door first he then spoke Jia’s name in a question after which he opened the door. Stepping into his bedroom, he saw how the Guardian woman had taken place on his bed. Her back turned to him.
Sitting in silence in the couch with Donghae for quite a while just holding his hand and allowing her body to relax in this moment of peaceful quiet, Jia got the scare of a lifetime when all of a sudden Donghae jerked up and basically spazzed out next to her. Feeling her heartbeat go at two hundred miles an hour in her own surprise, she was quickly reassured by the male Guardian that he was getting a call. Nodding her head to that, she looked at him for a short moment longer before then being selfless enough to let go of her own haven of peace and get up from the couch. Motioning that she was going to the bedroom so he could call, she pulled up one corner of her mouth in a small smile Donghae's way before walking over to the bedroom door and entering that room. Pulling the door closed behind her, the first thing she could see was the set of clothes she'd taken earlier which still lay on the Healing Chamber. Sighing softly, she decided to just change then. Stripping off the suit, she took the clothes and put those on instead, after which she walked over to the bed and sat down on the edge of it, with her back turned towards the door.
At first it was easy, just letting her thoughts wander, but as time passed and Donghae's call apparently kept lasting, thoughts of who he was calling with and what kinds of conversations the two of them could be having started plaguing her. Next of course came the memories of how they had been the two people calling some time ago and how Jea had been the one sitting it out. Now somehow the tables had turned and Jia was the one sitting alone on the bed waiting for Donghae to finish calling so she could move around freely again. But most probably moving around freely meant having to go home. Because, well, frankly, this place was not hers to be at anymore. When this day was over she would have to leave and that would be it. That would just be it. Just like that. It would all be over. She would have no business anymore walking around this house, would not be allowed to sit in the couch and watch TV with Bada on her stomach, stroking the dog absent-mindedly with her thoughts entirely elsewhere. She would not be allowed to look up at the sound of a door opening to see Donghae smiling at her in greeting, would not be allowed to even be there anymore at all. He would maybe not even use this place that often anymore either, instead just staying in the main house with the Superior and playing happy little family together with her for the little time they would be able to do that. And all the things he'd done for her and all the things he'd said to her he would now do and say for the other. As the thoughts progressed, Jia could feel the tears fill up her eyes, could feel the way she was going to lose her hold over the emotions and be lost in them. But one thought served to hold her back; at any moment whatsoever Donghae could finish his call and enter the bedroom and she did not want to be crying again when he did so. Which was how she managed to calm herself down again after only one or two tears had made it over her cheeks. Quickly wiping them away with the back of her hand, she stared down at her feet and focused very solidly on the thought that she did not want him to see her cry again. That if the asshole was going to have a new girlfriend, she did not want to be the sad, pathetic left-behind-er. She was going to be the strong, independent woman who would not be a burden but would gracefully allow him to move on to his new lover and give him a hug and a blessing. She was going to be that kind of woman. She was going to be strong.
Continuing to tell herself things to the likes of that, Jia actually managed to stay completely neutral again after that, so by the time a softer knock sounded up from the door, all she had to do was swallow away the bitter feeling in the back of her throat before stating a: “Yeah?” Only turning to look at the entrance to the bedroom when she could hear the door open, she looked over at Donghae as he came in, letting her eyes go over him for a moment to look for any sign of anything before then just locking gazes with him. “Everything alright?” she asked, managing not to sound bitter and actually sounding pretty generally okay, as if she'd just been patiently waiting for him to enter. Being told that everything was alright, Jia had to hold back a vindictive huff, because of course everything was great and dandy with him. How wonderful. "Was Jea?" she instead asked, still sounding as neutral and actually even slightly as if she really wanted to ask these questions and hear their answers. Hearing confirmation made her realise how much she didn't want to hear the answers, but she still pulled up a corner of her mouth anyway in what was supposed to be a smile his way. But she didn't quite know how to continue the conversation from there - how much was she allowed to ask without seeming like a want-to-know-it-all and how little was she allowed to ask without seeming indifferent? Struggles of trying to look normal when you weren't at all feeling like it. Getting up from the bed then, because as she had realised earlier it was not her place to be anymore, she walked around it so she could head towards the door and back to the living room - a more suitable surrounding for her now that she was just a friend anymore.
"You getting kicked out?" she questioned next, since that was a subject a friend could be interested in without breaking any boundaries, right? Damn, why was she thinking so much about this? Because if she didn't think about it she was going to say things that would reveal how much she was hurting inside and she didn't know if she could, because yeah he was her friend but he was also the reason why she hurt and even though she wanted him to put that aside and just be her friend in that moment, maybe he couldn't do that and would always remain the asshole that hurt her. Donghae's negation came quickly after her words, but then what followed next was the thing that really cut through her core. She could keep the apartment. Which meant he was staying as the Guardian, probably as more too then, and she would have to go home. Alone. "Oh nice," she piped up, going the complete opposite with her voice of where her thoughts were going. "Apartment hunting is such a bother anyway." Her tone was quite light now as she plopped herself back down on the edge of the couch to be able to pet Bada a little. Then an actual question which she really did want to know the answer to brought itself up to her and she simply spoke it aloud, looking up at Donghae as she did so. "Did she mention why she shot you?" Being told that the Superior was afraid and that it all still had everything to do with her kidnapping, Jia for a moment felt sincere sympathy for the other woman. Fear was not a nice thing to deal with, fear in fact was the hardest thing to deal with, really. She knew that from experience. And with her the fear had solely been to trust others in talking about her own feelings, not fear of ... well, being kidnapped again, most probably. It must have crippled the woman who had known no different her whole life than that everyone would obey her. When suddenly people stopped doing that... Well, everyone must be a danger then, even Donghae presumable when he didn't obey either. Or maybe it was something entirely different.
"Oh..." she therefore brought out, her voice having gone neutral again. "That's unfortunate." Yeah cause that was her vocabulary alright. Really, down to the letter. All things she'd never bring out in a normal conversation where she felt at ease. Nodding her head once or twice, she focused her gaze back on Bada for a moment to gently pet the dog one last time. Listening to how Donghae said that he just needed to answer in the future, she nodded in understanding herself. So the obeying thing after all. "So just be a good Guardian next time a situation like that arises," she agreed with a nod as she got up again from her position in the couch, looking over at him and quietly aching at how he was still in the bedroom door. As if just waiting for her to get the fuck out of his house already. Listening to his words, she hummed softly, thinking her own thoughts about that because if he'd been more of a friend earlier, why had he lied? But she didn't mention that as it wasn't her business anymore. Nodding her head once more to show she agreed with him, she glanced shortly over at the door before looking back at him. "I guess I'll be going then," she spoke, forcing a small smile on her face. "You should get some sleep in your system." Being told that she should do the same, she huffed out a smile and, although it would've been a mocking one if she'd let herself, she managed to make it seem almost genuine. "Yeah," she agreed then, not even trying to bring up how that was clearly not going to happen tonight with the whole thing she was going to have to get through tonight. On her own. Because here was her friend and the one who was supposed to love her just letting her go off to deal with it all herself. Beautiful. "I guess I'll see you around." Starting on her way to the door out of his shed then, Jia walked over to it in a composed manner, as if none of this came even remotely close to hurting her as much as it did. And the way he agreed with her words just as aloof and uninterestedly as he had been doing up till then made her bite her lower lip for a moment - her back was turned to him anyway - and have to swallow some of the hurt back before a nasty comment would come out of her.
Putting her hand on the door handle, she looked down at it as she pushed it down and pulled open the door, all of her feelings raging around inside of her and trying to get her to express them in some way. But what hurt her the most was that he wasn't saying anything, even as she was leaving his house, was just heading off just like that. And he was just letting her go, just like that. Some part of her just couldn't let that slide. She just couldn't. Even if she wanted to be strong and just go and pretend this didn't bother her at all, she couldn't. Pushing the door closed again, Jia turned her gaze over to Donghae, knowing there was anger in her expression but that the tears slowly starting to brim in her eyes were breaking down the intensity of that emotion. Or maybe they were only heightening it. "It's that easy for you, huh?" she accused him then, voice hard even though her lower lip started to tremble slightly because of the overwhelming wave of hurt and sadness that crashed into her now that she was letting it do so. And he dared to state it wasn't easy. "No? You're just letting me go, though," she sneered back, but her voice sounded softer than that, just making it an almost neutrally stated comment with a little bit of anger in it. His reply to her words had her want to get angry, but it was true. He had no right to tell her what to do or what not, but he could show some emotion regardless, show he cared, ask her if she was alright, ask her if she needed him perhaps. Something, anything to show that he wasn't a complete ass and wanted to make sure she was alright through all of this. Even if she'd end up telling him she didn't need him at all, even if she'd end up punching him for even remotely thinking he had the right to assume she was in pain. Because he should be assuming that. Because he knew her. Because he knew what he'd done to her and he should be more than fully aware of how much hurt resided inside of her.
"Still, you could try," she therefore spoke, as the first tear made it down her cheek, even though she refused to acknowledge its existence by wiping it away. Her inside was a turmoil of emotion that she had only a vague grip on which simply prevented her from breaking down right then and there, but she could no longer hide them away completely, she could no longer pretend like she was feeling nothing even remotely as huge as the things she was actually feeling. "Maybe explain yourself." Glaring at him now because she hated him, the asshole part of him, for being an asshole and putting her through this, she still divulged a truth to the friend part of him. "You know if you told me it was a mistake, I would've been able to just continue to live like it never happened." Being huffed at because of those words, Jia felt both the hurt and the anger just increase. Why did he think he had any right to belittle her words like that? Being questioned after that even, she huffed herself when it became clear he'd misunderstood her words. "No. No I can't anymore now because all of this has happened meanwhile. But if you would've told me back then that it was a mistake instead of just apologising I would've been able to. I would have. But it wasn't a mistake because you love her. I fucking know that." Wanting nothing other than to break down and just cry, Jia was once again faced with the fact that the person she needed at her side right now to tell her this guy was an ass for dumping her lay hidden behind this attitude of the ass himself and apparently wasn't going to come out and take her side. Clenching her teeth, Jia shot the next question at him. "You know what the worst part is?" Receiving a shake of his head as her only reply, she breathed in and out a few times to calm herself enough to be able to speak normally before continuing.
"I'm hurt and you're the reason but I don't even give a shit about that right now. The you who was my boyfriend doesn't exist anymore, at least not as my boyfriend. I need the you who is my friend. But I can't even expect him to be here because I don't know if he can manage comforting me without continuously thinking that he's the cause for all of this and I don't want him to be thinking about that. I want to be told that my ex-boyfriend's an asshole and agree with that without having to be afraid that I'm hurting my friend too by doing so." The words came out almost angrily again, despite the tears that were still running over her cheeks, but she was very strongly against the whole situation where she was trying to find her friend in a person who was clearly being her ex-boyfriend. Whom she didn't need at that moment in time. Whom she didn't want to see at that moment in time either. She just wanted her friend, who would comfort her and hold her and tell her everything would be alright. Because things got better, she had learned the truth in that. Being told then by Donghae that 'he' was indeed an asshole, she looked at him as he walked over to her, stating that he could be her friend, that he was her friend. Relief popped up inside of her at those words, but she held it at bay to see what he was going to do. When he put his arm around her shoulders then, Jia felt the last of her defences give in and she instantly turned to him to wrap her arms around his middle, hide her face against his chest and start to cry. For real. Like she'd never done before. Because this man was the only person she'd opened up to enough to even allow herself to feel things more openly and even though this situation had happened and he was in it, she still felt things and she still felt them openly and this hurt just felt like it had to get out of her or it would fester and turn into hatred, maybe. Like it had done with Ri Na. And she didn't want to hate Donghae. She wanted to keep him as her friend, because she knew he was the only one she was going to be this open to. Even after all this and no matter who she met in the future.
Actually being comforted then by her friend, Jia just let him guide her to the couch when he moved and really just let him do whatever as she cried. Being held mostly, she could only feel grateful for that, but he also told her every now and again that he was there and that helped too. Being handed tissues at regular intervals as well, she did use them to clear her nose every now and again, but mostly just waited for it all to be out before she would even try and resemble normalcy. But eventually the waves died down a bit until all that was left in her was a sort of carefree numbness now that all that hurt had found a way to manifest itself. Clearing her nose and cleaning her face, she breathed in and out quietly for a while until he asked her if she needed anything. Clearing her throat, she tried to speak without sound at first but then - after clearing it again - managed to state "Water." Donghae got up at that to get her water, she couldn't help but smile when he returned with a whole bottle of it. A smile that only widened slightly when he told her it wasn't vodka because they didn't do that. Nodding her head, she took the bottle from him, simply screwing it open and drinking from it. Because of all the talking and the crying she had actually become rather thirsty, so she drank half the bottle before finally satisfying her thirst and closing the thing again. Putting it on the table next to the couch where her empty glass also still was, she breathed out a deep sigh before turning her gaze over to him. Even though the magnitude of her hurt had become clear due to all of her crying, what had settled inside of her now was a calm sort of acceptance, something that showed in her expression as well because of the small smile that she still sported. One that wasn't forced at all, which appeared to be a rarity that day. Getting a reassuring and warm smile in return from Donghae, Jia only felt love for her friend in that moment. And only then did she manage again to be honestly worried about him.
"Are you okay?" she questioned him softly, the care audible in her voice, even if it was a bit thick from her earlier crying still. Receiving a nod in reply, she smiled a bit wider at his wordy reply and nodded her head once in a relieved acceptance of those words. Letting her eyes travel over him, she took in the fact that he was still wearing his Guardian suit and that he still hadn't been able to clean himself or the suit from the blood that had spilled because of Jea shooting off part of his ear. Smiling a bit wider and slightly amused at that, she reached out to put a hand on his arm for a moment, giving it a slight squeeze. "You should get changed," she spoke softly then, warmth back in her voice now. "You're almost scary with all the dried up blood all over. Especially because you're even smiling now." Trying to lift the mood a little with that comment, Jia watched how he agreed and got up, standing up herself too when he did that. "Donghae," she said as she did so, to catch his attention and make sure he wouldn't just walk away. Closing the distance between them, she wrapped her arms around his neck and pulled him into a gentle hug. "Thanks for being my friend." Letting go after those words, she smiled at him lightly but warmly, allowing him then to walk away if he would do so. Watching for a moment how he went to the bathroom, she put herself in motion and headed over to the bedroom again. Moving to the wardrobe, she looked through the clothes she still had there, taking them out one by one and folding them neatly. Creating a few piles of folded clothes on the Healing Chamber like that, she ended up putting the dirty suit on its own next to those, which was about when Donghae entered the bedroom as well. Turning around to look at him, she smiled warmly when she saw he'd changed into a sleeping outfit. "Much better," she hummed in a soft tone, locking gazes with him and looking at him nod.
And then she was at a loss for words for a moment again, looking at how he was dressed to go sleep and she didn't know if at this point she should head home after all or if he was okay with or wanted her to stay the night. Luckily he asked her then if she wanted to stay and she simply nodded her head, not smiling at that. "If that's okay," she hummed then, feeling warmth once again when he stated it was. Nodding once, she turned her gaze back to the piles of folded clothes she'd made, picking out one of her sleeping outfits herself and heading over to the bathroom then to change. She'd almost done it in the bedroom but had remembered in time that such a thing was no longer appropriate between them, which was why she'd moved over to the bathroom in the end. Returning to the bedroom all changed, she had left the clothes she'd been wearing in the bathroom to be able to put them back on the next day. She'd put the other clothes in a bag then to take them home with her. But that was all stuff for the next day. Walking over to the bed, she crawled into it on the free side - which had always been her side too in the past - and huddled under the blanket, leaving appropriate space between the both of them. Looking over at him, she saw how he had his eyes clothes and smiled a bit sadly at it, feeling bad for her friend and the things he probably had had to go through that day. "Do you want a hug?" she asked him softly, not wanting to disturb him too much but just wanting to make sure if he needed some affection or not that evening. Being told that he was good, she smiled lightly, settling herself a bit better. Getting a 'you?' in return a little bit later, she glanced over at him again. "No, just..." Moving closer to him, Jia put a hand gently on his stomach, resting her head on the mattress next to his arm and then closing her eyes. The light listened to his voice anyway so she didn't have to turn it off. "Goodnight," she wished him softly once she'd settled and he'd turned off the light, growing silent after that to allow him to get his probably much-needed rest. And in all honesty, it didn't take her that long to fall asleep herself, as all the emotions had wrecked her as well.
