When you finally start to feel stronger and faster
Didn’t feel like running today, but knew I needed to get in a good workout, so to the bike it is! I did an hour plus cool down! Definitely easier than running or the elliptical, but still a good workout. I just can’t count it towards my monthly miles. Tomorrow I’ll get back to the running.
For dinner we had taco boats! Tacos, but with romaine lettuce instead of taco shells. Not a low cal dinner since I’m a nut for sour cream and cheese, but not terrible either! It definitely hit the spot! And it’s another thing I couldn’t have during whole 30 that I’m adapting to be healthier now that I’m done. So away goes the tortillas and shells! Now I just need to train myself to do with less sour cream, which I probably could have tonight if it wasn’t so dang to get it off the fork and onto the taco!
All in all, not the worst day, though work was insane again. I really need a vacation. Blah.
GET IT.
so try to love it back.
Inspired fitness
We really need to normalise exercising and eating well for reasons other than losing weight or building huge amounts of muscle. I’ve started going to the gym recently to relieve stress and help me sleep but despite the fact that I fit into shirts and skirts in size small, I’ve been asked if I’m trying to lose weight numerous times.
Here’s a list of non-aesthetic reasons to exercise:
relieves stress
keeps you healthy
improves sleep
can have a positive effect on mental health
makes you stronger and fitter
something to focus on other than work/school/uni
IT’S RECOMMENDED AS PART OF A HEALTHY LIFESTYLE
Working out is kinda fucked up because it’s just like: “I want to hurt really badly tomorrow. Like, I don’t want to be able to walk up stairs. This is how I know I have succeeded.”
Followed by an: “I love it, I’ll do it again in the morning.”
I am my own body goals, I just want to be my best self. 💃🏾💃🏾💃🏾

I don’t like running in public because I’m self-conscious of people judging me. But when I see people of any size running, I give them a mental “well done, do your thang” praise
Help I'm 320 pounds and just joined a gym because I want to be physically strong, not lose weight but now my anxiety has kicked in and I don't think I can face struggling in front of these people
I GET IT. Anxiety is the worst. Like. The super worst. For a REALLY LONG TIME I used to only run by myself and do nothing else because I didn’t want people to see me and judge me. BUT despite the lies your brain is telling you, most people at the gym are really nice. There are some loser bros, but there are LOTS of people who literally don’t even notice anyone else and a fair number of people who are super happy to help. AND getting into a routine and making gym friends is SO HELPFUL in sticking with it. If I’m out of barre for a week, all my 7pm barre buddies ask about me! I get all the warm fuzzies, even when I can’t remember anyone’s name. The other thing that I have to keep in mind, especially when I feel like I’m failing at body weight exercises is that I am ACTUALLY doing more work than the people around me who look fitter. Oh, they can hold 150 pounds in a plank for 90 seconds? Well, duh, I’m holding over 100 pounds more than them so YES IT IS GOING TO BE HARDER. So it’s okay if I’m not right there with them immediately. But you can definitely grow and get better. And on days when I can hold my plank for 90 seconds, I feel like a damn queen. You can do it! Anxiety lies! Exercise is great (but also kind of miserable)!
