“It seems like William needed to make a mess of his life to make other people happy. The only way some people like Harry would’ve been satisfied was if William proved himself to be a failure at school, in his marriage, in his job, and every endeavor. No, we aren’t supposed to think William is better because the press said so. It just so happened that William did some things right in his life. He did fairly well at school. He wasn’t an exceptional student, but he didn’t fail. He took part in a lot of extracurricular activities. He saved lives while working as an air ambulance pilot. He took on patronages and causes. If people thought William was better, it was due to what the record of life showed. But it seems that to some people, he needed to make himself a failure just to spare the Spare from feeling insecure and inferior, and for life to feel fair to him. And I don’t know where all of this sentiment is coming from because the public very much liked Harry as well, despite the marijuana rumors and the Nazi uniform fiasco, and the Las Vegas photos, the public loved Harry. We aren’t supposed to think William is better. The public loved them both! Give credit where it is due. William managed to build a life that made people think of him as responsible and good. It was all due to that. Stop blaming him for things related to Harry as if he needed to make himself small just to accomodate Harry.” - Submitted by Anonymous
