The Glory Way is a mind and body sensibility system designed to reveal what we call the “home you”.
(quote from American Horror Story)
Tom Ellis fills you in on the best thing about playing Lucifer
beckett-theguardian:
It was a good thing that Jim showed more depth than Beckett initially thought. Somehow, he could now appreciate the smile, finding it not filled with smugness and arrogance anymore. “How very cliche of you.” He chuckled. “Very well.” He nodded and started walking with Jim.
“A cliché need not be a bad thing,” Jim countered, his face a mask of humor, smiling. Beckett was a conundrum. An intrigue. He had been put off yet had not fled or left. Now he stood to join him, reacting to his smile as intended while simple in his complexity. And complex in his simplicity. “As I have invited you I will pay,” Then, checking out Beckett’s form in his clothing again, “You seem like you’ll be able to handle a little bit of butter.” He teased, walking toward the park exit with his guest beside.
tanner-thesupersoldier:
Tanner, or Elijah as he went by now, had a boring couple of weeks. His life with CARMA was over, that much was certain. Working in construction was hard, but tedious work without much thinking required. He did a good job hiding himself from CARMA. He build up a new life as Elijah Bennett in the corners of Lompico. The quality of life was no where near he had been used to, nor desired to live. But there was no point in thinking of the past. However, on some days, it was particularly hard not to.
Tanner sat in a shady bar, smoking a joint with very light effect. It gave a pleasant daze, but mostly he sat depressed by himself, reminiscing over the old days. “Hm?” He hummed absently as he looked up at the person who was muttering something to him. “Care to join?” He grinned. He wasn’t quite sure what they wanted, but whatever, as long as it wasn’t CARMA, he’d be fine.
“You read my mind,” Jim joked, smiling wide as he slid into the booth beside Tanner. The familiar face had garnered his attention, and simply a “Well well well, Elijah,” Had captured Tanner’s - Elijah’s - focus. It had been some weeks since he had rumbled the foundations of the man’s world, opening the locked doors on his secrets all in one day. It made sense ‘Elijah’ would keep some distance, especially given his recent status as a Nephilim. Metahuman radical, as one particular tabloid had coined.
adam-finley:
“Mm, well, a lot has happened in a short time, Jim,” he said softly, not looking over at the other man. “For one instance, have you looked at the news recently? Surely you’re aware of all the things that have happened,” Adam remarked, not bothering to let the other man really reply. Of course he knew. “I think I’m happy with where I’m at right now. I don’t need anything to change that.”
Jim paused for just a handful of moments before he answered Adam. “Liar.” One simple word that be spoke to the world, letting it hang and grow and have its effect. Adam was not happy and Jim needed not his empathic senses to detect that. Just looking at the boy’s face, and eyes, belied how he was not radiating warm happiness. “You don’t trust me, which is smart considering the news.” The news of himself and the Nephilim. “But you needn’t lie, Adam. I know the truth even when other’s hide it or lie to themselves. You don’t have to lie to me.” Honesty implied trust...at times. When a secret was constantly in the light, as with Jim, then it became not a matter of trust but simply getting to the point. Not wasting time.

Jason was tired and worn out and he knew that it was way too early in the day to be getting drunk, but alas, here he was at a bar in the middle of the day. He had gone through four, maybe five drinks when he noticed someone had sat down next to him and he shook his head a bit. He was hoping that they didn’t try to engage in conversation, he wasn’t sure he’d be able to handle it without breaking down. He was drowning in stress, he had no friends he could talk too without risking them getting hurt, his family felt a million miles away, and he didn’t exactly think it was good to pour out all his frustrations to a random stranger. He ordered another whiskey from the bar tender and picked tiredly at his plate of fries, knowing they were pretty cold and not great at this point, and he could feel the persons eyes on him. It almost felt like they were drilling into him, but that might’ve been the anxiety and stress.
Many a stranger broadcast their thoughts and feelings. Information wafting for any to feel should they have keen senses. When a CARMA member crossed his path their minds offered up a veritable cornucopia of information without even meaning to. Jim watched the tired brunette nurse his drink and his thoughts, sat at the bar some distance away. Having a stake in the pub, Jim made it a point to made sure business was running smoothly.
“A penny for your thoughts,” He said charmingly, moving to sit by the dark haired CARMA person. What he did was still unknown, but the boys thoughts were obvious. Just like his fatigue. And loneliness.

mari-golde:
“Since when do any of us want to just be a face in the crowd,” she countered with a raise of her eyebrow. He was ridiculously good looking and he knew it, clearly. But drama was exactly what they were trying to cause and she, for one, was reveling in it. She took the paper without further argument and looked at the ad he was referring to. They all had been itching to get out of the madhouse for some time now and revealing themselves to the world gave them extra incentive. Of course any one of them could afford a new place on their own but the idea of a little fun at a human’s expense was irresistible. “Well, well, well…what are we waiting for?”
Jim chuckled as he handed the paper over. “Touché.” Their lives were a conundrum, higher and superior to almost the entirety of the planet, never blending in yet having to pass through the crowds out of risk. For all their power, they were still human, Still fallible and breakable. Unlike others, Jim could not change his face. But his abilities meant he need not to; people loved him.
“We are a democracy, I wouldn’t step on any toes making a hasty decision for us all.” Jim teased, pushing to his feet with the grace of a gazelle. “We could use some quiet...for as long as Scarlett allows such.” Her abilities being rooted in lust, she was a creature of passion and sexual desire. Whether it was Jim, Blake, or both, the nights were seldom ‘netflix and chill’.
beckett-theguardian:
“Wonderful.” He smiled, feeling rather smug at the moment. “Sure, why not?” He smiled and got up. “What are you craving?”
Jim paused, giving Beckett slow, considering smile. The man claimed simplicity yet was filled with a sudden smugness. There was a lot more cheekiness under that pale skin than Beckett let slip. He was anything but simple. Making sure Beckett felt the effect of his smile, the kind of emotional flare that made a person blink and think ‘wow...how did I not see that before’, Jim hummed in fake thought. “At this moment...I rather fancy a chocolate croissant. Pretentious, maybe, but delicious all the same.”
adam-finley:
Adam only stared at Jim for a moment before glancing away. “Everything for a reason, huh? I’m not sure I really buy that, but if that’s what you think, then so be it…” he murmured quietly, letting his voice be drowned by the approaching waves.
“It was a one time moment, Jim. And more of a mistake than anything,” Adam said softly. “It’s nice to see you’re doing well though. But I think I’ll have to keep things the way they are between us, with space.”
Somewhere between the hospital and now Adam had found some steel to graft onto his spine. It was a swift and impressive change, one that made Jim roll his head to examine young Adam. There were tones in his voice that seemed so foreign. “Being technical, nothing strictly happened that would require this distance,” He pointed out, smiling. “Something has happened in the time since I last had your attention. Many do not change to noticeably in such a short time, dear Adam.” He detected a lot more than just a greater ability to assert himself. Much more.
beckett-theguardian:
“Wonderful.” He smiled, feeling rather smug at the moment. “Sure, why not?” He smiled and got up. “What are you craving?”
“Do not look so smug, it breaks your simple character,” Jim smirked, amiable and teasing rather than dark and cocky. “As it is after midday lets go to one of the clubs I own. The bar is open during the day and they do a rather nice burger.” If one is into that kind of pub food.
beckett-theguardian:
“I’d rather not.” Beckett smiled. “I like that there’s still a part left you know nothing about it. Let’s try and keep it that way, shall we?” He laughed.
“There are many parts of you I know nothing about. But since you issued a challenge...I will accept.” Jim smiled, teasing. Partially. The man was intriguing in his ability to shirk influences others quelled at, and susceptible to others most barely even perceived. “In the spirit of getting to know one another,” Jim said, standing gracefully and straightening the short sleeved, button up shirt that hugged his form, “Might we adjourn. I’m feeling rather thirsty.”
beckett-theguardian:
jim-irons:
“Oh my life is terribly simple. Knowing more about yours won’t change that in the slighted, don’t worry.” He chuckled. He had a rather good life. Apart from the lack of purpose he was currently experiencing.
Jim blinked, this time keeping his gleaned knowledge to himself. “Simple how? Where one sees simplicity others see boring, so, tell me all about the life of Beckett Montgomery. Given that thought, Jim guessed Beckett’s life was painfully simple...
beckett-theguardian:
“Very well, I suppose that’s a point to be made.” He nodded. “Wouldn’t you like to experience it? Love?” He wondered. An ability like that was pretty cool, but Beckett would’ve found it a curse not to know one’s true feelings. “That much I gathered from the first moment you flirted with me.” He chuckled.
Jim chuckled back, smiling wider. Beckett may not be amendable to his physical charms but that did not stop Jim from smiling, nor looking his beautiful self. “I have felt love, from others and directed toward others. I’m not unfamiliar with it, I have just never met someone to evoke it from my own heart.” Part of that reason may be his powers and how he had to distance himself to not become overwhelmed. Needs must as the devil drives. “For a stranger, you are awfully invested in my love life. And you claim you like keeping your life simple.”
beckett-theguardian:
“That’s a sad truth.” Both he and Beckett could agree to that, he was sure. “So either your arrogance is fake since you don’t trust your own persuasion, you’re in it for the sex, or you live a fake life.” Beckett leaned back. “I’m not sure which is the least sad.”
That was rather bold. Jim lifted his brow and propped his chin up, but otherwise did not react. He was impressed by Beckett’s ballsiness. “Some say love is strength, others weakness. Which suits you is up to your perception; because I have never been emotionally intimate I an therefore at a loss?” He asked rhetorically, not offended whatsoever. “I can safely say that I am completely amendable to both male and female persuasions, that I very much enjoy sex.” Jim gave Beckett a pointed look.
beckett-theguardian:
He glared over at Jim, disliking his ability a whole lot right now. “You’re a smart guy. You figure it out. I believe it’s my turn for a question.” He hummed. “Have you ever dated someone fair and square? That is, have you ever not used your abilities to win them over?”
That was a rather personal question. Jim mentally applauded Beckett on his ballsiness. Despite not liking his ability to read his mind it did not repulse him. “I can honestly say I am not sure. In the beginning my ability was hard to control, I couldn’t turn it off. I don’t think I’ve ever met one special enough that I want to give myself wholey to them.” That was the truth, as much as Jim knew it. For years, feeling had not entered into it, feeling the doorway to being overwhelmed. Feeling too chaotic. His father taught him to be a staunch businessman ruled by logic.
