Reflections on Entrepreneurship: Overcoming Challenges and Embracing Growth🌱

In our entrepreneurial journey, one of the challenges we encountered was the validation process for our proposed fees and charges. Connecting with CMU faculty and students was tough because they were very busy with their own schedules. As a result, it was hard for us to figure out what fees and charges they preferred. However, with the hard work and teamwork of Team Juliet, we were able to overcome this challenge. We conducted our validation process through Google Forms and supplemented it with face-to-face interviews to ensure comprehensive feedback gathering.🌟

Looking back, we were fortunate not to face major failures that I can recall. Our team was diligent and hands-on, which helped us overcome initial challenges. However, our biggest setbacks revolved around how we generated income and structured our venture. We had to rethink our financial plans and adjust our strategies to better match what customers and the market wanted. This process of adapting was essential for our growth and ensuring our venture could thrive in the long run.🚀

Throughout my journey, the most important lesson I learned from Ma'am Leanne was the importance of validating not only with customers but also with our key partners. In this way, we ensure alignment and support across all stakeholders. In facing the minor obstacles Team Juliet encountered, I have learned that the key to success is to focus on goals, not obstacles. This mindset has proven essential in overcoming challenges and staying motivated toward achieving our vision.🔑

Lastly, as our journey with this subject concludes, I would like to express my gratitude to Ma`am Leanne. Despite having only two months with us, she imparted all the essential knowledge we needed for entrepreneurship. Her activities were enjoyable and helped us build a strong connection within Team Juliet. Campusphere would not have been successful without her guidance and mentorship. The Power of Feedback: Validating Pricing Strategies for Better Decisions👍

When proposing new ideas or solutions to given problems, it is crucial to ensure they are not only effective but also feasible. Throughout the week, I learned from Ma’am Leanne that it is very important to validate your proposed ideas and solutions with potential customers before implementing them. This process helps us understand what to improve and what to change based on feedback from our potential customers. 🧠🔍

Before the BMC presentation with Ma'am Leanne and Ma'am Shigella, we had already validated the amounts presented in our fees and charges. During our validation process, we asked our potential customers what percentage markup they preferred. We presented some specific and simple scenarios to make it easier for them to decide. According to the results, 25% was their preferred markup. However, Ma'am Shigella advised us to validate the amounts of fees and charges with a larger population, as this amount was considered too high. 📈🤔

In our latest validation, we used the same process but surveyed a larger group of potential customers to ensure the results were accurate. We found that the previous amounts for our revenue streams were inconsistent. The 25% markup was too high, the new data shows that a 20% markup is more appropriate. With this new information, the team decided to adjust our pricing to better match our target market’s expectations, leading to more realistic forecasting and budgeting. 💡📊

From this experience, I learned that testing ideas with larger potential customers gives us better feedback. As Ken Blanchard said, "Feedback is the breakfast of champions," showing how important it is for improving our ideas. Campusphere: Bridging Campus Needs with Innovative Solutions 📱

Living far from campus can be tough. Based on our survey conducted on campus, most people struggle to find reliable transportation, convenient food options, and suitable boarding houses. Seeing these challenges, my group mates and I decided to take action. We envisioned an app that could simplify life for everyone in our campus community. That’s how Campusphere was born. 🌱

During our free time, my group mates and I visited potential customers to see if they were interested in our app. We were very happy that everyone we spoke to expressed a willingness to use it. Even our key partners, boarding house owners, motorcycle drivers, and food establishment owners agreed to support the app. The strong support from both potential customers and key partners gives us confidence as we develop and launch Campusphere, reinforcing our decision to stick with our original business model.👥

In our venture proposal last week, Ma'am Leanne advised us to validate the amounts reflected in our estimated fees for our app. Fortunately, our key partners, specifically the motorcycle drivers, are willing to pay double the price of our estimated registration fee. This feedback supports maintaining our estimated fees, pending adjustments based on our venture’s cost structure. We'll also consider the pricing threshold identified during interviews and integrate mark-up pricing in our delivery service, as validated by food establishment owners and our target market for its reasonable value proposition. As Ma'am Leanne emphasized, "We should not focus solely on our customers but also consider the needs and willingness of our key partners." Their support and investment are crucial for the success of Campusphere. Additionally, this validation process highlights the importance of involving all stakeholders in our planning to ensure a balanced and sustainable business model. 📊

In our marshmallow challenge activity, we were tasked with building a tower using spaghetti sticks, tape, and yarn. The twist was that the tower needed to be sturdy enough to last more than 5 seconds with a marshmallow placed at the top, and the tallest tower would win. I was very confident that we would win the challenge, but during the last minute, when we compared our tower to the one beside us, we felt pressured because theirs was taller. Hoping to surpass the other group, we added one more spaghetti stick to our tower. Unfortunately, our tower started to collapse. The lesson that I learned from the activity is that teamwork and careful planning are more crucial than simply trying to be the tallest. Just like in business, success isn't only about being the tallest or the fastest, it's about staying steady, making smart choices, and being resilient.💡 - Jimboy

Embarking on Entrepreneurship: Insights and Innovations💡

As an aspiring entrepreneur, the subject "Entrepreneurial Mind" excites me. I've heard that it centers on crafting business proposals and places a strong emphasis on the practical application of theories. I believe this hands-on approach will greatly enhance my skills and prepare me for future business ventures.

Based on what I learned during the introduction to this subject, it is not one where you will read and memorize many concepts and lessons. Instead, it is more performance-based, emphasizing teamwork with your groupmates. It does not focus on written quizzes or exams; rather, our grade will be determined by the performance of our group. This approach will significantly help us understand the key factors in making business decisions and prepare us for real-world entrepreneurial challenges. 🤝

The first topic taught me the difference between entrepreneurs and businessmen. I used to think they were the same. A businessman starts or operates a business based on established, existing ideas, aiming to maximize profits within a familiar market. On the other hand, an entrepreneur is characterized by their unique and innovative ideas, actively initiating and establishing new ventures, often paving their own way in the business realm. This new understanding has opened my eyes to the distinct roles and approaches each one takes in the business world. 👨‍💼🚀

I am looking forward to learning more about entrepreneurship and engaging in activities with my team. I find it both enjoyable and challenging, and I believe it will provide valuable experiences for all of us.
