abundance of options, likelihood of the choice
there comes the pretty month of july to convince me that the summer is everything i need and everything i could wish for. sometimes what you seek gets illuminated– softly, gently, with a trace of a hymn, that crickets hum after the dawn chorus– by rays of pure, sublimated bars of gold. i am trapped in a cage of heat and beetles only in my slowest moments, unsure where the next white cloud rests to bike towards. a haze gets caught between my eyelid and iris, the sun’s fault, dust and glitter falling on my face. i blow a kiss to a dragonfly and let the grass brush my havianas.
and the summer breeze calms me.
a man will discover the word ‘sonder’ and act like he just invented consciousness. bitch i thought of that at 13. #thoughtdaughter #philosopherat8btw
how do i explain as an atheist that my metaphor for love is religion? because to love is to create a god that is fallible.
is the ability to understand more important than the ability to predict? and if you get better at predicting, doesn’t that limit your understanding?

how can i shut up
when anger is never
ever healthily engulfed by a
whisper and a sigh
of slightly raised concern
hidden between the crease
of your eyebrows
beneath the coarse purple-red
of your tongue
anger isn’t soft and short,
transparent and clear
it is more like the heart-pumping
adrenaline addiction of mine
it’s golden brown rustic,
it froths and it churns
bubbles up from bottom up
just to triumph over time
body of time
cutting skin that isn’t mine
no life, no breathing, none to keep
the heart that pounds will keep the time
to still the knife that knows the deep
what if god exists, but he doesn’t love you? why do we assume that god is good, it makes him more fictional

do i contradict myself? very well, then i contradict myself. i am large, i contain multitudes
If the path is to detach from the material world,
to release its weight from the soul,
why do monks not abandon life itself?

how strange is it, that we can hold an opinion on the righteousness of the matters that transpire in our lives. to judge our character and determine that the happenings are unreasonable. what would be reasonable otherwise? tao te ching but my own thoughts
