I felt like sharing a draft that was probably just gonna sit in my Drive, but I had this idea for a Hazbin Hotel AU where Charlie has a personality that’s a bit closer to a naive entity
For example, I imagined her being really fascinated by Earth and humans, but since it’s kind of a taboo subject for her parents, she had to repress that curiosity.
Like her dad, she likes birds (not duck specifically), and she wouldn’t hesitate to study their skeletons, after all, they’re creatures that live on Earth. For her, skeletons aren’t creepy at all, she just has a very different relationship to those things. Because of that, she can come off as kinda creepy without even realizing it.
Her relationship to death and human suffering would create a lot of conflict with others. She’s never really experienced “close” death (aside from souls in Hell), so while she’s very empathetic toward them, there's also this natural distance (thanks to her immortality) that keeps her from truly understanding human's mortality. Which would make her whole “redeeming souls in Hell” goal a bit more challenging
In the same vein, I imagined Lucifer as more openly divine too. He’d come off as more intimidating at first (which would contrast later with his goofier side). His wings would have a heart-like shape, and his hat could cast a shadow that looks like an apple. He experiences his depression like any immortal deity would, he doesn’t even realize he has it. So his “years” away from Charlie don’t really feel that dramatic to him. He plans to be by her side for centuries anyway, so he sees things on a much bigger scale.
What else… I heard Charlie is supposed to be several centuries old, so to keep her naive, I imagine her as very sheltered and privileged, stuck within her family’s aristocratic circles (like her first boyfriend being a noble too). And it’s only after a long time that she actually confronts the reality of Hell and decides to take an interest in Earth, the dead, and the idea of redemption.
It was a quick thought tho, nothing serious, so It might be off topic
I do prefer the 'sitcom' tone of the show, I just thought it would be fun to explore the 'Hell'/'Immortal' part of HH
