Do not withhold good from those to whom it is due, when it is in your power to do it...So then, as we have opportunity, let us do good to everyone, and especially to those who are of the household of faith.

Do not be anxious about anything, but in everything by prayer and supplication with thanksgiving let your requests be made known to God...Arise, cry out in the night, at the beginning of the night watches! Pour out your heart like water before the presence of the Lord! Lift your hands to him for the lives of your children..Trust in the Lord forever, for the Lord God is an everlasting rock.

Can a mother forget her nursing child? Can she feel no love for the child she has borne? But even if that were possible, I would not forget you!...As a mother comforts her child, so will I comfort you...As a father shows compassion to his children, so the Lord shows compassion to those who fear him.

Let marriage be held in honor among all, and let the marriage bed be undefiled, for God will judge the sexually immoral and adulterous...So flee youthful passions and pursue righteousness, faith, love, and peace, along with those who call on the Lord from a pure heart...don’t you know that the unrighteous will not inherit God’s Kingdom? Don’t be deceived. Neither the sexually immoral, nor idolaters, nor adulterers, nor sodomites, nor homosexuals,nor thieves, nor covetous, nor drunkards, nor slanderers, nor extortionists, will inherit God’s Kingdom.

Rejoice in hope, be patient in tribulation, be constant in prayer...Trust in him at all times, O people; pour out your heart before him; God is a refuge for us...By your endurance you will gain your lives... Blessed are those who endure when they are tested. When they pass the test, they will receive the crown of life that God has promised to those who love him....Rejoice always, pray without ceasing.

If they were wise, they would understand this; they would discern their latter end!

Cursed is the man who trusts in man ...Blessed is the man who trusts in the Lord, whose trust is the Lord...Put no trust in a neighbor; have no confidence in a friend; guard the doors of your mouth from her who lies in your arms; for the son treats the father with contempt, the daughter rises up against her mother, the daughter-in-law against her mother-in-law; a man's enemies are the men of his own house. But as for me, I will look to the Lord; I will wait for the God of my salvation; my God will hear me.

The sacrifice of the wicked is an abomination to the Lord, but the prayer of the upright is acceptable to him...The Lord is far from the wicked, but he hears the prayer of the righteous.

If your brother sins against you, go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone. If he listens to you, you have gained your brother...How good and pleasant it is when brothers and sisters live together in unity!...whoever says to his brother, ‘You good-for-nothing,’ shall be answerable to the supreme court; and whoever says, ‘You fool,’ shall be guilty enough to go into the fiery hell.

For if we live, we live to the Lord, and if we die, we die to the Lord. So then, whether we live or whether we die, we are the Lord's... Blessed are the dead who die in the Lord from now on.” “Blessed indeed,” says the Spirit, “that they may rest from their labours, for their deeds follow them!”... If I live, it will be for Christ, and if I die, I will gain even more.

He put a new song in my mouth, a song of praise to our God. Many will see and fear, and put their trust in the Lord...The Lord is on my side; I will not fear. What can man do to me? The Lord is on my side as my helper; I shall look in triumph on those who hate me. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in man. It is better to take refuge in the Lord than to trust in princes....“Great and amazing are your deeds, O Lord God the Almighty! Just and true are your ways, O King of the nations!...be strong in the Lord and in the strength of his might.

Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope...Then shall the young women rejoice in the dance, and the young men and the old shall be merry. I will turn their mourning into joy; I will comfort them, and give them gladness for sorrow..There will be no more night. They will not need the light of a lamp or the light of the sun, for the Lord God will give them light. And they will reign for ever and ever...He will wipe away every tear from their eyes, and death shall be no more, neither shall there be mourning, nor crying, nor pain anymore, for the former things have passed away....Blessed are those who are persecuted because of righteousness, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven...Blessed are the poor in spirit, for theirs is the kingdom of heaven.

Treasures gained by wickedness do not profit, but righteousness delivers from death...Neither their silver nor their gold shall be able to deliver them on the day of the wrath of the Lord. In the fire of his jealousy, all the earth shall be consumed; for a full and sudden end he will make of all the inhabitants of the earth....They cast their silver into the streets, and their gold is like an unclean thing. Their silver and gold are not able to deliver them in the day of the wrath of the Lord. They cannot satisfy their hunger or fill their stomachs with it. For it was the stumbling block of their iniquity....Keep your life free from love of money, and be content with what you have, for he has said, “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” So we can confidently say, “The Lord is my helper; I will not fear; what can man do to me?”

The Lord loves righteousness and justice;

the earth is full of his unfailing love...The Lord foils the plans of the nations;

he thwarts the purposes of the peoples. But the plans of the Lord stand firm forever, the purposes of his heart through all generations. Blessed is the nation whose God is the Lord,the people he chose for his inheritance...He frustrates the devices of the crafty, so that their hands achieve no success. He catches the wise in their own craftiness, and the schemes of the wily are brought to a quick end.

A man who remains stiff necked after many warnings will suddenly be broken beyond repair.

Because of the increase of wickedness, the love of most will grow cold, but the one who stands firm to the end will be saved...the one who endures to the end will be saved.
