Kebisingan adalah hal yang sekunder ketimbang misalnya; kemacetan; lingkungan yang kumuh; pengangguran; kriminalitas kota; dan lain-lain. Marjinalnya isu kebisingan bisa menjadikan masyarakat kota tidak mampu membicarakan dan mendefinisikan kebisingan. Sehingga kebisingan terus ada dalam masyarakat kota. Salah satu kota yang bising adalah Yogyakarta. Munculnya Jogja Noise Bombing (JNB) di Yogyakarta menjadi penting. Meski JNB dapat dilihat sebagai aktivitas dari pelaku music eksperimental, ia adalah bentuk ekspresi masyarakat, terutama komunitas JNB, atas kebisingan. Pusat Studi dan Dokumentasi Media Alternatif (PSDMA) Nadim Prodi Komunikasi UII tertarik untuk mengadakan diskusi bertajuk “Kebisingan (dan) Kota” dengan menghadirkan pembicara tamu dari JNB (Hendra Adytiawan) untuk berbagi cerita mengenai makna kebisingan dan kiprah JNB. Selain itu menghadirkan pembicara tamu dari KOTAKITA (Filda Husna Amalina) yang membahas relasi kota dan kebisingan. One of the most memorable moment at the noise fest last night was captured by @latemonthster . . This is when Bomi of SitbQ from Seoul and PGR from Italy doing their set and Bomi's table was broken then some of the kids try to "help" her by "taking care" the table so she can continue doing her set. .
