Daniel Desario x Lindsay Weir Story
Mature. No smut just slow burn love story.
Not canon, I wish it was😭 just an imaginative story between Daniel and Lindsay.
Need more Freaks and Geeks! This takes place after the end of season 1. (This is actually canon; James Franco said one time that if the show wasn’t cancelled then Daniel and Lindsay would have ended up together in season 2.) hate that they cancelled it😔.
Lindsay has been riding in a van following The Grateful Dead around the country with her friend Kim Kelly and those kids from the lunch room who were already following them around. She’s experienced so many new things, took a few new drugs at some concerts and came back home as what she would call herself, a changed woman.
Whilst she and Kim traveled around making life-long memories, Daniel has been putting around at home with Ken and Nick. With Kim and Lindsay gone it did feel lonelier in town, and Daniel had heard from someone what the girls were up to and it made him feel envious of their roadtrip. Daniel, Nick, and Ken were all sitting around on couches at their hangout spot in the field. “I’m so fucking bored of this town.” Sighed Daniel.
“Well, what are you gonna do about it?” Replied Nick.
“I don’t know.” Daniel answered him as he threw an empty beer can at him.
“I miss Lindsay and Kim. Lindsay could always figure out what to do.” Said Nick.
“I hate to admit it. Me too.” Said Ken reluctantly.
“Oh yeah, what ever happened with you and Kim?” Ken asked Daniel after some time went by.
“Uhh, we never really talked about it, she just left. It’s over; for me at least.” Answered Daniel while looking at his shoes.
“Damn she threw you out on the curb.” Said Ken while laughing.
“Shut up. Let’s go score some booze and fireworks for tonight.” Said Daniel whilst motioning for everyone to get up and follow him.
Today was the 4th of July, in the afternoon and Ken was throwing a party at his house with fireworks and alcohol. Everyone was gonna be there. Flash over to Lindsay and she was still unpacking things from her getaway and trying to hold up the lie with her parents of going to a learning camp. She asked her parents and they said she could go over to Ken’s house as long as she stayed to eat dinner with them. Sam and his friends are planning to shoot some more rockets in the yard along with fireworks.
Lindsay went to the local grocery store with her mom, which is next to the liquor store. They went there to pick up some hot dog buns, hot dogs, cole slaw, hamburger stuff and whatever else. They checked out and Lindsay was putting the groceries in the back of their car when suddenly her mom yelled, “Lindsay, look! Your friends are here!” In a classic high-pitched mom tone. Lindsay instantly cringed and then looked up to see who it was and she saw Daniel standing on the sidewalk making small talk with her mother. Daniel smiled at Lindsay and waved at her.
“Now what was your name again?” Mrs. Weir asked.
“Daniel, Ma’am.” He answered respectfully.
Lindsay had walked up to the both of them.
“Hi Lindsay, it’s good to see you.” Daniel said whilst looking Lindsay up and down without realizing it.
“It’s good to see you too, Daniel.” Lindsay replied looking at him and smiling.
“You always look so cute with your friends, Lindsay.” Said Mrs. Weir cutting in.
Lindsay then noticed out of the corner of her eye, Ken and Nick carrying a large keg together to Daniel’s car. She knew she couldn’t let her mom see or else she couldn’t go to Ken’s party.
Thinking quickly, Lindsay said, “I’m getting pretty hungry mom, can we go?”
Daniel furrowed his eyebrows whilst raising an arm in confusion at Lindsay as to say “what’s the matter?”
Lindsay widened her eyes and quickly tilted her head at Nick and Ken still carrying the heavy keg together their car.
Daniel smiled and shrugged his shoulders while playing along and said, “Well it was great to see you again Mrs. Weir, and I’ll see you later Lindsay.”
“Alright, alright I just know you like being with your friends.” Said Mrs Weir trailing off as she grabbed her keys from her purse.
Lindsay put an arm around her mother walking her to the car, making sure she wouldn’t turn around and see Ken and Nick just lollygagging around with the keg.
A couple minutes later on the ride back to their house, Lindsay’s mom said, “He’s cute, y’know. You should date him.”
Lindsay instantly rolled her eyes and said, “Oh my god, mom.”
Flash forward and the boys (Ken and them) are getting the party put together and the Weir family is eating dinner.
“So what was going on at the liquor store? You trying to make a move on Mrs. Weir?” Nick asked Daniel teasingly.
“No, SHE cornered ME. What can I say?” Daniel replied.
Both Ken and Nick laughed.
“Yeah you were over there flirting it up while we tugged that heavy ass keg around.” Said Ken.
“The ladies love me.” Replied Daniel while putting his hands up.
The Weir’s just finished up dinner so Lindsay called Kim wondering if she was going to Ken’s party and that she also needed a ride from her. Kim said that her parents were using her car and that she needed a break from the party life anyways so she’ll be staying home and doing fireworks with her family later.
The only other person Lindsay could think of who had a car and could drive was Daniel. She didn’t know why but she got nervous to call him but did it anyways.
“Hello?” Answered Ken from Ken’s house phone.
“Hey this is Lindsay, is Daniel there?” Asked Lindsay.
“Yeah, hang on.” Said Ken while yelling for Daniel. “You have a secret admirer Daniel! Come to the phone!” He yelled while Lindsay still heard. Her face went a bit red and she sighed.
“This is Daniel. Who’s this?” Daniel spoke on the phone.
“Hey it’s Lindsay. I tried Kim for a ride there but she’s a no-go, so I was wondering if you could pick me up for Ken’s party.” Said Lindsay.
“Yikes… I guess I can come get you. Just because you’re special.” He replied sarcastically.
“Oh thank you Daniel, what would I ever do without you.” She replied half-heartedly.
“Sit and mope; that’s what. Alright, well be ready I’ll be there soon.” He said.
“Okay, see ya soon.” She replied then hung up.
Lindsay had a giggly laugh when she was on the phone.
Sam noticed and looked at his friends and said “Girls…” while shaking his head.
15 ish minutes later and Lindsay heard Daniel’s car pull up and rushed to the door after saying goodbye to her parents and telling them she’d be home after spending the night at Kim’s house after Ken’s party. Which half of was a lie: she was just going to sleep at Ken’s house.
Daniel had some rock music playing when he parked on the street for her. He smiled at her through the window as she walked up closer and reached over to open the passenger door for her.
“Hey, I love this song.” Lindsay said as she climbed in and shut the door.
Daniel hit the gas and his loud car echoed through the neighborhood as they drove off together. They began to banter back and forth through the car ride.
“It’s been a while, huh? Well, other than an hour ago at the grocery store when you rudely dragged your mother away from me.” Said Daniel while laughing.
“I just didn’t want her to see the Keg, I definitely wouldn’t have been able to come if she saw that.” Lindsay explained.
“Aww I know. Ken and Nick got mad at me earlier cause they said I was busy with the ladies.” He said with a smile.
Lindsay laughed while sighing with her hand on her face and said, “I just remembered she called you cute on the way home.”
“Oh yeah? And what did you say?” He said teasingly.
“About what?” She tried to play dumb because she didn’t want to answer.
“Do YOU think I’m cute?” Daniel asked her with a smirk.
They pulled into Ken’s driveway which gave her a way out of this demanding question. She just rolled her eyes and hopped out of the car.
“I’ll get an answer sooner or later.” Daniel teased as he walked behind her a couple of feet.
Lindsay greeted and caught up with Ken and Nick for a while before other people started showing up for the party. The sun was setting now as more and more people started to pile into Ken’s average sized house.
No matter how crowded it was, or what was going on, Daniel always managed to stay in the same room as Lindsay at all times. And she noticed it too.
A couple of hours passed by and everyone there had had a couple of cups of the spiked punch and found themselves a bit drunk. Loud music played as all different types of people were socializing and having a good time. Lindsay was across the room from Daniel, Ken, and Nick. She was talking to one of her girl friends who was at the party about who knows what when some guy from another school introduced himself to her and was a lot more drunk than she was. She was taken aback some because she never saw herself as someone approachable but was not opposed to it. He made her laugh a few times and was getting flirty with her.
Daniel didn’t know why but he stayed focused on this interaction. He was protective over her because she was his friend but now he felt another feeling towards the guy who was flirting with her: was it jealousy? He found himself wanting to be the one making her laugh and blush. It was confusing.
Daniel chooses to continue to play a card game with Ken and Nick and have fun. Then a couple minutes goes by and Lindsay’s girl friend has walked away at this point so now she’s just talking to this new guy. The room is so crowded that no one else pays attention but he always did.
Daniel tried to do his own thing but was brought back to her by hearing some words utter out of the guy’s mouth: “Come on, don’t be a prude.” He said with a hand squeezing Lindsay’s waist. “I don’t know you like that.” She said while trying to pry his hand off of her. He had her up against a wall across the room.
Daniel’s eyes widened and his head whipped to the left when he heard the guy say, “Don’t be a bitch.”
“Get away from me!” Lindsay said sternly as she tried to push him off of her.
Daniel quickly stood up, his legs hitting the table and knocking things over as it shook. Nick and Ken just watched as Daniel shot up like lightning and across the room then shoved the guy against the wall.
“Get the fuck off of her!” Daniel yelled loudly almost sounding like a dog barking.
The wall shook so hard it made a picture frame fall down and break. Whoever noticed gasped audibly. Lindsay just stood there speechless with her mouth wide open; not knowing what to think.
The guy who turned out to be a creep had turned white and just backed out of the room. No one saw him again but everyone thought he probably just left.
A few seconds after it happened everyone was staring at Daniel and Lindsay. Lindsay ran outside then Daniel just stood there for a second saying, “Lindsay….” Then, “Aw shit.” As he saw the broken glass at his feet then the look on everyone’s faces.
He walked outside to find her and she was sitting on the steps of the porch drinking another glass of punch. He sat down beside her carefully and stayed silent for a second.
“I’m sorry Lindsay, I don’t know why I-“ Daniel was cutoff by Lindsay lunging at him with a hug. His arms lingered at his sides, slowly and carefully raising them to match the way she was holding onto him.
They hugged for a while, Daniel took one of his arms and brushed the back of her head to comfort her.
She let go of him and just laid her head on his shoulder. “There are so many creeps in this world, Daniel. I know you’re not one of them….” She stared talking to him with tears in her eyes and her voice slurring some. “I came across a few at those Grateful Dead shows. Not ALL of those hippies are about peace and love. Even Nick! One time I was upset over… something… at the party at my house and he gave me a hug then started feeling me up.” Said Lindsay.
“Well you can trust me, I promise.” Said Daniel as he put an arm around her shoulder.
A few seconds went by then they heard Ken scream, “WHO WANTS TO SEE SOME FIREWORKS?!?!” In a deep voice and they both started busting out laughing.
Daniel got up and screamed back, “ME! I DO! I DO!” Which made Lindsay start laughing even harder.
They helped each other walk back inside and Lindsay grabbed a blanket off of Ken’s bed and laid it out in the grass to lay on.
They both sat down on the blanket as they waited for the first fireworks to be lit off.
“Please don’t blow off your fingers guys.” Said Lindsay to Nick and Ken.
“We won’t, princess.” Ken replied.
It was one of those big boxes of fireworks so it would be blasting them left and right for at least 10 minutes or more.
They started shooting up into the air and Lindsay and Daniel watched, both fairly drunk and amazed by the show.
“It’s beautiful.” Said Lindsay as she stared at the night sky that was lit up with red, blue, gold and other colors.
Daniel just stared at her when she said that and said, “I know.”
She looked back at him and said, “Pfft, what are you looking at?”
“Something else that’s beautiful.” He replied.
Lindsay blushed and laughed at what he said, then they just stared at each other for a while. Their faces turning different colors every few seconds with the different flashes of lights from the fireworks.
They both leaned in slowly together and kissed, their lips being very gentle at first. They stopped for a second and smiled, then Daniel took his hand and tucked Lindsay’s hair behind her ear and kissed her again, this time continuing for a while. Lindsay took her hand and placed it on his.
“Did you want to light one Daniel?” Asked Nick before he turned around to see what Daniel was doing and saw him and Lindsay making out. Daniel stuck his middle finger up at him as to say, “I’m busy.”
They stopped kissing and Lindsay held his hand tighter. “I think you are cute, by the way.”
Daniel leaned back and acted surprised as he curled his lips and raised his eyebrows.
“Really? Wow.” He said sarcastically.
This will be a continued story. I think I have something good going on here muhahahahaha…
