Everyone loves a good love story, and the story of your engagement is always one that is close to your heart. There is so much pressure on the poor blokes of today to come up with more and more imaginative ways to propose, and in some ways I guess it’s about outdoing their mates.
As we are always on the hunt for property, be that cool innovative designs, new builds, glass houses, old character properties to the damn right strange we come across lots of creative homes too. And this home by Bruce Campbell an inventive engineer boats an old Boeing 727 certainly is creative to say the least.
This huge 3-engine commercial airliner is supported by concrete pillars in a woodland with its very own driveway.
The aircraft boats a shower, however a working lavatory is still a work in progress, Campbell also intends to restore some of the plane’s original interior like seating and lights.
Campbell who currently resides in the plane 6 months every year, and spends the other part of the year in Japan, where he is also looking to buy and similarly re-use a retired Boeing 747 fuselage. The 10 acres where he’s building his aircraft home cost £16,000 when he bought them in his 20s, and the plane set him back £140,000.

House prices were 9.5% higher in March than March 2013, putting them at about 3% below the 2007 peak.
The figures come from the latest Nationwide house price index which also shows that house prices in London are up 18% on this time last year. At an average price of £362,699, homes in the capital now cost twice as much as the average price elsewhere in the UK.
Nationwide chief economist Robert Gardner said: “There is little doubt that the recovery in the housing market is now firmly established, with activity levels picking up and house prices recording their fifteenth successive monthly increase in March.
“There are some tentative signs of moderation, with the monthly pace of price growth slowing to 0.4% in March down from 0.7% in February and 0.8% in January. Nevertheless, viewed in annual terms, price growth is continuing to run at a robust pace, with the price of a typical home 9.5% higher than in March 2013.
“Record low mortgage rates, improved availability of credit and the brighter economic outlook are all leading to increased demand for housing. However, the upturn in the supply side of the market continues to lag far behind, with the number of new homes being built in England still around 40% below pre-crisis levels (and this was already insufficient to keep up with the increase in the number of households being formed).”
Rory Penn, partner of London estate agency VanHan, says: “Nationwide's latest data will not completely comfort those worried about a house-price bubble as prices rose for the 15th consecutive month. However, there are signs that growth is moderating with a slower pace in March than the previous two months. This cooling will only be moderate, all things considered, given the continued strong demand from buyers combined with a structural lack of supply.
“The number of transactions are still well below what they were at the 2007 peak of the market suggesting we are some way off a return to 'normal' market conditions, although prices are just 3% off that peak.
“Rising consumer confidence among borrowers, increased lending and government schemes such as Help to Buy, are all contributing to the uplift in property prices. London again led the surge, with the average property costing twice as much as elsewhere in the UK. This is causing more Londoners to stay put rather than make the natural progression out to the countryside, fearful that they will ever afford to buy in London again, and further contributing to the shortage of stock for sale in the capital.

So we pondered with the idea about what people are looking for these days, is it a large house in a great location, a large house or the great location?
We came across this great article about this very topic..
New research tells us that space has overtaken location as the main concern for homeowners for the first time in years.
Bigger rooms topped the list of the most important criteria when shopping for a new home, according to a survey of 2,000 homeowners by ratedpeople.com, a website putting consumers in touch with trusted trades people. And one in six people are dissatisfied with the size of the rooms in their home.
How to add space and value to your home
1. Extensions
Look at the house prices in your local area and gauge how much value another bedroom will add to your property - be careful not to overdevelop
2. Conservatory
A conservatory can be a relatively cheap way to increase your house value if space is required. As a rule they don’t need planning permission either, however, check with your local council as this does vary dependent on where you live.
3. Planning permission
Before you begin forking out (on average) £300 to submit your plans research your local area and see what your neighbours have had approved in the past.
4. Internal changes
Consider removing walls and changing the layout of your property rather than building extra rooms, a better layout may be all that is required to give the illusion of space. Check that any walls are not load bearing prior to assaulting them with a wrecking ball or you could be looking at more of an open plan house than you originally intended and a hefty repair bill.
5. Side extensions
Not a massive space however they are a whole lot cheaper than a full blown extension and you may be surprised at how much additional space it may give you.
6. Gardens
Gardens are high on potential buyers wish lists so be very wary that you don’t rule out potential buyers by removing their dream of sitting on the patio with a cocktail in the summer by erecting a huge extension that takes over the lawn.
BE CAREFUL
Although some home improvements can increase the value of your property, some can just about break even with the costs involved in planning permissions and work to be carried out. There are actually some home improvements that will actually bring the value of your home down!
• Turning your house from a 4 bedroomed house, to a 3 bedroomed house... If you’ve always wanted a cinema in your home then hang fire until you have your dream home as not everyone will be a fan and you could eradicate potential buyers by losing a bedroom in your property.
• If you are wanting to splash out on a new bathroom or kitchen and are thinking of going with loud colours then don’t do it! Bathrooms and kitchen’s are the more expensive rooms in your house to re-do. You may get a drastically reduced price as the buyer weighs up how much a new bathroom suite to replace your florescent pink one will be very costly to them. .
• Swimming pools or jacuzzis are unlikely to cover the installation costs.
Decoration needs to be neutral - just because you love bright colours and patterns, doesn't mean prospective buyers will. Try to present your home in a neutral fashion and keep personal touches to a minimum, your buyers are buying your home not your nic nacs or family heirlooms.
So some very valid and interesting points mentioned here.. Ultimately make think about whats important to you and if you need a helping hand why not speak to one of our experienced and helpful property agents TODAY - click here
So we was wondering does a street name alter your opinion? The good folks at NeedaProperty.com spent two months researching the effect of street names on house prices for their‘Street Names Study’, which reveals that properties on the streets with the rudest, most embarrassing names in the country are worth an average of £84,000 less than similar properties close by. We found that embarrassing street names seriously affect the value of British homes.
60% of Brits admitted they would be put off living on a street if it had an embarrassing name. But for the 40% who aren’t so concerned about how others react to hearing their address, it seems there could be bargains to be had on roads such as Crotch Crescent, Bell End and Cumming Street!
Polling over 2,000 British adults to vote for the top 15 streets they’d be most embarrassed to live on we found that Minge Lane came top. On average you could save yourself £84,000 by living on a street with the rudest, most embarrassing names. Bargain!

An outstanding and simply amazing converted Grade II listed church which boasts beautifully and respectfully presented contemporary styling, yet remains sympathetic to the original Grade II listed building.
Where do we start on this epic journey?
The jaw dropping property makes for some interesting opportunities, even one of our contacts said that this would make a simply outstanding restaurant, and I am inclined to agree. That said this property just works exceptionally well as residential dwellings.
This would make a great property for the home worker or better yet, bring the entire team home and create a buzzing office environment in the exceptionally large Studio that benefits from its own entrence.
Retaining many of the original features including stained glass windows, stone arches and vaulted ceilings, the property benefits from underfloor heating both upstairs and down, alarm system and an electric gate.
This is a property that I could simply talk about for most of the day, what with the open plan living area that measures over 40ft x 31ft, or the open plan kitchen and dining space that leads to a fantastic games area (Currently hosting the full size pool table) or maybe its the galleried landing with fabulous views across the original stained glass windows and stone arches.
What can be said about this property is the minute you enter through the electric gates into the beautiful and immaculately presented gardens you feel at home. But the magic really happens when you enter the property and the outstanding beauty of the reception hall captures you before you have even began to wonder through this hive of contemporary living space which ties together the beauty of old and new.
Situated in the popular and convenient residential area Chapeltown, with great public transport links including train station and being situated close to junction 35 of the M1 Motorway network making it ideal for anyone wishing to commute.
The area thrives from a buzzing neighbourhood of local amenities, restaurants, shops, supermarkets and great nightlife with the newly opened Weatherspoons not being too far away.
A few minutes drive and you are also within reach of beautiful open countryside and the village of Wentworth just being a short drive too.

Here' some great information that I discovered about the church:
A Church built for Newton-Chambers and Co.
This church is of early Gothic design of the French development.
It consists of nave, transepts (now used as vestries), and
tower at the west end, where is also the principal entrance. The
height to the wall-plate of nave is 20 feet, to ridge of nave 44
feet, and to ridge of transept 37 feet. The external dimensions
of the plan are 92 feet long, by 68 feet wide; across transept the
nave is 36 feet wide; the tower is 66 feet high, to which it is
intended at some future period to add a spire. There are galleries
over the vestries and lobby in tower; sittings are provided
for 333 persons on the ground floor, and in the galleries for 188,
making a total of 521.
The traceries of windows and moldings of doors are very bold
and simple. At the east end is a semi-octagonal apse, in which
placed the communion table. The church is built for Messrs,
Newton, Chambers, and Co., by whom the heating apparatus is
provided. Their apparatus is found to be very efficient, and is
very highly recommended by the architects. The walls are
2 feet thick, those of tower 2 ft. 6 in. In the tower are clock loft
and belfry loft. The walls are built of range work of native
stone; the shafts in doors, &c., are red Mansfield stone: the roof
is covered with slates with Delabole bands; the internal fittings
are picked red deal sized and varnished; the roof is boarded to
collars, in which are ventilators communicating with an exhausting
flue in tower.
The floor of the church is laid with Godwin's encaustic tiles.
The church occupies a site on the top of the hill. commanding
a very extensive prospect, and has been erected almost entirely
by the munificence of Messrs. Newton, Chambers, and Co., of the
Thorncliffe Iron Works, from the designs and under the superintendence
of Messrs. Wilson and Willcox, of London and Bath, architects.
The builders were, Mr. Robinson of Barnsley,
mason; Mr. Smith, of Hemingfield, carpenter and joiner; Messrs. Leadbeater
and Brown for the other trades. Mr. Sykes was Clerk of Works.
There have been very few extra.
Would Simon give this property a thumbs up or not? What do you think?
Is this the type of home you would like to call home?
Well Tulissa Contostavlos called this home for the last year.
The former X Factor judge reportedly moved into the five-bedroom property little less than a year ago and is thought to have been renting the extensive Georgian style mansion.
Edge House, situated in Hatfield, Hertfordshire, doesn’t disappoint in terms of what you’d expect to find in a celebrity’s home. The spectacular home boasts a cinema room with a 60” LED Sony TV and indoor pool complex complete with a gym, sauna, steam room, changing rooms… the list goes on!
The new build’s sleeping accommodation is spilt over two floors and each bedroom has its own en suite bathroom and fitted wardrobe – and of course the master bedroom includes a walk-in closet!
The lavish interior of the house isn’t let down by its façade and surroundings either. Its rural Hertfordshire location offers panoramic countryside views and has 2 acres of land of its own. The N-Dubz star’s former home is secured with electric gates and video entry and is reached via a sweeping gravel drive leading to an impressive water feature and triple garage.
This magnificent property has come on the market for a cool £4.5million.
