🎼 Now, what did that book say about these flowers again?
Roses are red, violets ar- wait no, that’s wrong.
Red means?…Red tulips mean?….Red tulips and jonquils mean???… It’s something in the way he’s feeling, right? Close enough. Knowing Caesar, he wouldn’t do this without some intentional reason. Perhaps she’ll ask him about it later. Nonetheless, this didn’t stop her from genuinely smiling and appreciating his kindness.
She laughed at little, “My recent events can never top days like these. Working part-time for small businesses really becomes mundane when you don’t have anything as delightful as this look forward to.”
Her hard work was going to pay off though. Everything she had done prior were all for means that lead up to exactly where they are now. In her purse she was reaching around for it but after a few moments she then slipped it across the table.
“I don’t think my gift compares in creativity to yours but, I thought we could use their last day of fun together” She finally earned the money and was lucky enough to have caught the finest tickets to the Italian Fireworks Festival.
Caesar listened intently to his friend, eyeing her features while still listening to her speak. He widened his eyes slightly at the sight of the tickets, he wasn’t expecting such a gift, “Cara, I was not expecting this.” He said earnestly. “It must have taking you some time to save for these, I’m grateful.” Sliding his hand across the table he held hers gently in his, “I would love to go with you, thank you for this.” Just then the waitress was back with their drinks, “here you are,” she handed them off one by one, “For the lovely couple, I’ll be back shortly with the food.” she said as she bounced off. Caesar merely chuckled but didn’t deny the couple part.
🎼 It was definitely worth it. He was definitely worth it. All of those long hours and efforts of work and she finally pulled it off. Now could she just do that with her feelings?
She loved the way they were. Caesar’s the only one who could do that to her. She just wanted to return the favor. And maybe that’s why she didn’t deny the waitress’s sentiment either. The setting, the flowers, and their soon lively destination; These are the kind of things people do in soap opera and romance novels, because you like being with each, right? Do you even have to say yes?
Mari found herself smiling a silent nod, closing their hands completely.
Tonight will be different, just wait until nightfall.
On that note, What did she order again? Having already placed the bouquet across the table, Mari reached for the small cup with the pretty design. The taste was undeniably good, something different than what she normally gets, but still good nonetheless. Her thoughts started to wonder as she was looking over to him.
Caesar's mind wondered to the event they'd attend and how the set up seemed perfect for a certain confession, he was confident tonight would be the night he finally gave the extra push for their relationship to change. He'd never admit he was nervous, after all he was known as a skirt chaser, how could he be nervous? Because this time it was different? Because this time it meant so much more? Because no one made him feel this way?
He put any doubts out of his mind, he was sure that if he really put his all into it he could pull off a great night and finally tell her, the time felt right.
"At what time would you like me to pick you up? Unless you'd like for us to meet up together at a midway point, I-" Caesar paused as she took a drink from his cup of coffee before stifling a small chuckle. "Does this mean I get to try yours as well." He joked.
