to elaborate more, i came out when i was 13 and was in the childrens system once i became 14. i managed to go on a blocker (luperon) later that year. luperon has a list of side effects but one of the most pronounced side effects is severe bone and nerve degradation, on top of the inevitable post menopausal symptoms one gets without any hormones coursing through their body whatsoever. i was given luperon because it was a puberty suppressant that did not have the ability to give me any feminine changes. as i turned 16 years old i was finally given hormones! .5 mg of oral estrogen every day, low enough to where it didn't even appear on any blood test. by the time i turned 18, i ended up on 1.5 mg of estrogen. after spending most of my teen years struggling through post menopausal hormone levels and chronic pain induced by muscle and bone atrophy, the first thing my new endocrinologist did once i cycled out of the childrens system into the adult system, was being given 6 mg of estradiol, eventually up to 8. my body will never heal from the carelessness and apathy from my doctors, and i have not met a single person who transitioned as a teenager who did not suffer the same treatment. many of those people to this day still don't have a proper dose of hormones, and are continuing to suffer because of it
