Luzon - Philippines
Luzon is the largest island in the Philippines, and the 4th most populous island in the world. These waterfalls in Laguna, one of the islands provinces, beautifully cascade down into the river below.

“Postmodern Loneliness” - Pencil, ink & watercolor art by Idalia Candelas. From the artist: “I like to show women who exist in solitude but do not suffer. They are not depressed or crying. Rather [they] are safe, exalting in the sense of enjoying the company of just herself.”
weird things I have learned about being an adult thus far:
everyone has stress. talking on and on about your stress is not a conversation topic, and it offers nothing and no way of response for the person you’re talking to. because literally everyone is dealing with it in some way or form. don’t make it your only identifier.
there are days when you will eat only salad and run for miles. and there are days where you eat peanut butter and nutella straight out of the jar and don’t get out of bed. learn to neither punish nor reward yourself for either. both have equal merit in terms of well being.
getting out of your typical habitat for a day or so is like a mental exfoliation. go to the beach. go to the farmer’s market. meander around downtown. don’t define the worth of your weekends in how much studying you got done. not all who wander are lost.
instead of beating yourself up for the ways in which you fucked up, stop, take a twenty minute nap and allow for a moping period of exactly two hours, and then go beat back at whatever stopped you the first time.
despite what hollywood films allow us to believe, it is incredibly difficult to speak up for what you believe in. don’t degrade people who don’t fight back simply because you think you would have said or done the right thing. courage truly is an extremely rare human trait. consider, rather, compassion towards those people, rather than cruelty for the cowardice.
there is no greater balm for the soul than forming a tight knit group of girlfriends who all mutually support each other without judgement. boys? they’re cool. but have you considered fierce lady friends?
use people’s names aloud. learn people’s names. write them down if you’re forgetful. there’s nothing more pleasant than watching someone’s face light up when they realize you recognize and know them.
cynical and logical viewpoints do not always equal intelligence. have hope. be romantic. see the world for what it could be instead of what it is.
plan what you’re going to have for breakfast the night before. cook it, if necessary. nothing will make your morning routine easier.
don’t be afraid to log off tumblr for a while every now and then. it may be one of the most productive and cathartic things you will ever do.
acting is easy. it’s living that’s hard.
humans are full of foibles and flaws. but the worst and truly terrible of those is cruelty, which manifests from a lack of respect for the truth of another’s humanity. respect the truth of other people’s humanity and right to that humanity, and you’re already 3 steps ahead of the game.
we are made up more of infinitesimal, subtle moments (rather than big and grandiose and overwrought with emotion), than we will ever be able to admit.
