Monday nights are no longer an average weeknight for me and Frederik Damhus. Our weekly studio session consists of songwriting, filming and drinking lots of tea. (Hey, it’s a Monday night!).

Creativity needs a home, it needs a space where it can explore. The creative process isn’t pretty to many, but it needs a place that is comfortable, welcoming & cosy. In October 2014, I opened my Studio. It serves a few purposes, for me to do my work, write, read, teach, learn and discover. It is a place for the creative tools and instruments that just don’t have its own place in an apartment (Or even most houses).

A Songwriting Sanctuary

Having a place with all the creative tools at hand, without feeling too industrial, is something that I’ve dreamed about for a long time. To be able to come up with ideas, or develop existing ones, it is a dream to have a ‘safe’ place to do so.

Recording and Filming Studio

With a bit of sound proofing, this little basement studio will serve as a great place for some acoustic recording. I’m also planning to do some acoustic music videos here.

My biggest music achievement in 2014 is the development and concerts by the CopenhagenGroove brand that I launched. The background to this music project to promote Copenhagen based music artists to the world.

As a lecturer for Creative Industries and also with Digital Media in Marketing, I had classes involved with producing the events, as well as the marketing and artist management. In 2014, we produced 3 acoustic evenings and ended the year off with a gig at the infamous live venue Loppen, located in Copenhagen’s Christiania quarter.

Artists and bands included Benjamin Aggerbæk, Ingo Stahl, Frederik Damhus, Sahra Da Silva, Kaia Hjøllund, Johann, When I Grow Up and Exit Fields and DJ Spitz Lang(US).

Plans for Copenhagen Groove in 2015 is taking shape.
