“No one’s ever loved me before,” Marley said, taking his face in her hands and pressing gentle kisses to his jawline. “Then again, there have been…quite a few firsts with us, I guess,” she laughed a little, then turned serious again, which was weird for her - she was so used to never wanting to be serious, making the jokes or initiating sex before things got too heavy. Right now though, she was serious, and she didn’t want him to think otherwise for even a second. 

“Jonah, I…I could go with you,” she said. “I mean…maybe. If you really, like really wanted me to…I could figure something out. I don’t have to…” she trailed off. “Some art schools will take you with just a GED, and I turn eighteen at the end of the summer. I don’t have to stay here. There’s nothing…there’s nothing for me here.”

JONAH;

He raised his eyebrows at her suggestion, a thousand thoughts running through his mind. Of course he wanted Marley to go with him, he always wanted Marley with him. But, could they? Could it be that easy?

“Of course I want you there, but what about your mom?” He asked, knowing that her mother was such a massive part of her life. Could Marley really leave her? “If you came, everything would be perfect, but can you just up and leave?”

Marley could feel her voice breaking towards the end, “I believe in what I see / Now I know that I have met an angel in person / And he looks perfect tonight,”  she sang, playing the last few chords and looking straight at him, noticing that his eyes were tearing up, making her heart feel as if it were being squeezed in her chest, “Jonah,” she whispered. “Hey. Jonah. Jonah baby, look at me, yeah?” She said, sniffling, putting down her guitar and climbing on top of him, her face inches from his. “I love you,” she said quietly, her voice shaky. “And…I just…I want you to know that, because I’ve never said that before in my life and I’m scared,” she admitted. “I’m not…I’m not gonna say goodbye to you under any circumstance, do you understand that?” 

JONAH;

He didn’t open his eyes until she told him too. But he did, and his heart broke noticing the tears in her eyes, arms atuomatically wrapping around her when she climbed on him. “I love you so much,” He murmured, grinning at her admission. God, he was terrified too, terrified of being away from her, for starting this new path. “I’m not saying goodbye either. I’m not that easy to get rid of,” He said with a small laugh, leaning up to kiss her, “Oh, I wish you could come to New York with me.”

Marley giggled, a warm feeling creeping into her chest as he spoke. She took his hand and pressed gentle kisses to the tips of his fingers. “I don’t like the idea that you’re gonna be far away at all, honestly…but I’m not gonna hold you back,” she assured him. “I just feel like maybe we got cheated a little. Not enough time…there’s never enough time, you know?”

She bit her lip, “But…anyway,” she said, getting up from where she lay, grabbing her guitar and sitting back on the bed. “I wanna show you something I’ve been working on a little, if that’s okay?” She experimentally plucked a chord and cleared her throat before slipping into the song, her heart beating fast.

Jonah hmmed, resting his head on top of hers, “I’m not gonna be that far. I’ll come visit you whenever I can, and obviously I’ll be back for the holidays, and you’re gonna come visit me,” He said, trying to keep positive in all of this. Though he agreed, God had really screwed them over, cheated them on all the things they could have done. If only they came public a little earlier...

He let out a small whine when she moved away from him, glancing curiously at her when she got her guitar. “Okay,” He said, smiling a little when she told him, resting back and closing his eyes as she began to strung. As she continued, he felt the tears prickling in his eyes. God, he was really gonna miss her even if they did manage to see each other as often as possible.

 Marley curled up next to Jonah in bed, the dim light of her lamp illuminate just enough so that they could see each other’s faces. This was his first night as a high school graduate, the first night that they were able to feel truly free together. It almost brought tears to her eyes to realize that she didn’t have to hide from the world now - they belonged with each other, and no matter what the world decided to throw at them because of their differing social standings, she knew they could take it on.

“How do you feel?” She asked sweetly, her voice low as she ran her hand through his hair. She couldn’t put a finger on how she felt - happy that they weren’t hiding, happy that he was out of that hellhole, sad that he’d be leaving in the fall, but happy that they’d have the summer.

JONAH;

Jonah couldn’t believe that he had graduated today. It had been one of those long days -- where thinking back to it seemed like five minutes or a lifetime ago. It was weird, his mom not being there. But he couldn’t find himself caring. Del was there, and most importantly, Marley was there. Marley his girlfriend. Marley who he could publicly call his girlfriend.

“I keep thinking back to where I tripped on stage,” He admitted, glancing down at her with a smile, leaning down to peck a small kiss on her cheek, “but ultimately, happy. I graduated. And we have a few months of being disgustingly cute together in public. Longer when you come visit.”

“Mm, I know,” she said in between kisses, tightening her legs around him, her dress hiked up to the point where she knew her ass was probably out. She kissed him hard, heated, like they didn’t have all night, but the beauty of it was this – they did have all night this time, and she wasn’t going to waste a single second. The elevator door opened and thankfully they were alone. As soon as they step in the small space, he pushed her against the wall, pressing the buttons at random, hoping he pressed their floor. This wasn’t the first time she’d had sex in a car, but it was probably the most thrilling. She giggled and blushed when he smiled at her, and when he struggled into the back seat, she couldn’t help but grab his ass playfully, “Oops,” she said. “Hand slipped!” She climbed into the back seat and pulled her crop top over her head, climbing into his lap and kissing him hard, letting her hands slide up and down his torso. They were incredibly close together - even closer than they’d be if they were in her room like any other day, she could feel his warm breath against her each time they broke apart, “I wanna suck your cock.”

JONAH;

As soon as he managed to get comfortable in the backseat, he removed his shirt, throwing it over one of the seats for him to find later. He turned around and gave Marley a look when he felt her hand on his ass, though he definitely didn’t mind. When she joined him, he held her waist to keep her balance, kissing back hungrily. His lips moved to more exposed skin when she removed her top, pressing hard kisses on her neck at her words. “Yes,” He murmured, “please.”

Marley pretended to think it over, “I mean, we can try, but it’s not super likely,” she giggled, pulling him back to kiss him again, hard and filthy before taking his hand and walking towards the check-in desk, the woman standing there seeming unfazed by the horny teenagers in her lobby. It was prom night, after all. She couldn’t hold off, though. As Jonah got everything sorted, she couldn’t help but nip at his neck - she couldn’t deal with not being able to touch him for a single extra second.

JONAH;

God, she was super distracting. He tried to be as normal as he could for the check out lady, but Marley’s mouth on his neck made him bite his lip to suppress moans and laughs from the ticklish sensation. Once they were given their keys, he waited until they were out of view, pressing the elevator button before turning around and picking her up, kissing her hungrily. “You drive me insane, you know that right?” He murmured against her lips.

Marley bit her lip when Jonah touched her thigh, unsure why something so tiny could make her feel so much. “I spotted a patch of forest back there, I’ll just creep in there,” she said, moving to make a U turn and driving toward it, then looking to make sure no one caught them, turning into it and parking them there. “This isn’t the most…lovely environment, but I mean…” she giggled. “Crawl into the back with me?”

JONAH;

He couldn’t believe they were doing this. But, that’s what he liked about Marley. It brought out his more adventurous side. “Hmm, if you’re involved, then it’s a lovely environment,” He said with a grin, shaking his head at how weird this was. “Okay, yeah sure. More room back there and all.” He said, trying his best to clamber back, cursing his long limbs and the tiny car.
