He raised his eyebrows at her suggestion, a thousand thoughts running through his mind. Of course he wanted Marley to go with him, he always wanted Marley with him. But, could they? Could it be that easy?

“Of course I want you there, but what about your mom?” He asked, knowing that her mother was such a massive part of her life. Could Marley really leave her? “If you came, everything would be perfect, but can you just up and leave?”

MARLEY;

Marley bit her lip, tilting her head, “I’m not saying that it’d be the easiest thing in the world, but I mean...I’ll be legally an adult,” she reasoned. “And my mom has always encouraged my independence, ever since I was a kid, even -- you know?” She laid her head on his chest. “I’m serious, Jonah,” she whispered, “I just wanna be with you. Fuck everything else.”

He didn’t open his eyes until she told him too. But he did, and his heart broke noticing the tears in her eyes, arms atuomatically wrapping around her when she climbed on him. “I love you so much,” He murmured, grinning at her admission. God, he was terrified too, terrified of being away from her, for starting this new path. “I’m not saying goodbye either. I’m not that easy to get rid of,” He said with a small laugh, leaning up to kiss her, “Oh, I wish you could come to New York with me.”

MARLEY;

“No one’s ever loved me before,” Marley said, taking his face in her hands and pressing gentle kisses to his jawline. “Then again, there have been...quite a few firsts with us, I guess,” she laughed a little, then turned serious again, which was weird for her - she was so used to never wanting to be serious, making the jokes or initiating sex before things got too heavy. Right now though, she was serious, and she didn’t want him to think otherwise for even a second. 

“Jonah, I...I could go with you,” she said. “I mean...maybe. If you really, like really wanted me to...I could figure something out. I don’t have to...” she trailed off. “Some art schools will take you with just a GED, and I turn eighteen at the end of the summer. I don’t have to stay here. There’s nothing...there’s nothing for me here.”

Jonah hmmed, resting his head on top of hers, “I’m not gonna be that far. I’ll come visit you whenever I can, and obviously I’ll be back for the holidays, and you’re gonna come visit me,” He said, trying to keep positive in all of this. Though he agreed, God had really screwed them over, cheated them on all the things they could have done. If only they came public a little earlier…

He let out a small whine when she moved away from him, glancing curiously at her when she got her guitar. “Okay,” He said, smiling a little when she told him, resting back and closing his eyes as she began to strung. As she continued, he felt the tears prickling in his eyes. God, he was really gonna miss her even if they did manage to see each other as often as possible.

MARLEY;

Marley could feel her voice breaking towards the end, “I believe in what I see / Now I know that I have met an angel in person / And he looks perfect tonight,”  she sang, playing the last few chords and looking straight at him, noticing that his eyes were tearing up, making her heart feel as if it were being squeezed in her chest, “Jonah,” she whispered. “Hey. Jonah. Jonah baby, look at me, yeah?” She said, sniffling, putting down her guitar and climbing on top of him, her face inches from his. “I love you,” she said quietly, her voice shaky. “And...I just...I want you to know that, because I’ve never said that before in my life and I’m scared,” she admitted. “I’m not...I’m not gonna say goodbye to you under any circumstance, do you understand that?”

Jonah couldn’t believe that he had graduated today. It had been one of those long days – where thinking back to it seemed like five minutes or a lifetime ago. It was weird, his mom not being there. But he couldn’t find himself caring. Del was there, and most importantly, Marley was there. Marley his girlfriend. Marley who he could publicly call his girlfriend.

“I keep thinking back to where I tripped on stage,” He admitted, glancing down at her with a smile, leaning down to peck a small kiss on her cheek, “but ultimately, happy. I graduated. And we have a few months of being disgustingly cute together in public. Longer when you come visit.”

MARLEY;

Marley giggled, a warm feeling creeping into her chest as he spoke. She took his hand and pressed gentle kisses to the tips of his fingers. “I don’t like the idea that you’re gonna be far away at all, honestly...but I’m not gonna hold you back,” she assured him. “I just feel like maybe we got cheated a little. Not enough time...there’s never enough time, you know?”

She bit her lip, “But...anyway,” she said, getting up from where she lay, grabbing her guitar and sitting back on the bed. “I wanna show you something I’ve been working on a little, if that’s okay?” She experimentally plucked a chord and cleared her throat before slipping into the song, her heart beating fast.

Marley curled up next to Jonah in bed, the dim light of her lamp illuminate just enough so that they could see each other’s faces. This was his first night as a high school graduate, the first night that they were able to feel truly free together. It almost brought tears to her eyes to realize that she didn’t have to hide from the world now - they belonged with each other, and no matter what the world decided to throw at them because of their differing social standings, she knew they could take it on.

“How do you feel?” She asked sweetly, her voice low as she ran her hand through his hair. She couldn’t put a finger on how she felt - happy that they weren’t hiding, happy that he was out of that hellhole, sad that he’d be leaving in the fall, but happy that they’d have the summer.

As soon as he managed to get comfortable in the backseat, he removed his shirt, throwing it over one of the seats for him to find later. He turned around and gave Marley a look when he felt her hand on his ass, though he definitely didn’t mind. When she joined him, he held her waist to keep her balance, kissing back hungrily. His lips moved to more exposed skin when she removed her top, pressing hard kisses on her neck at her words. “Yes,” He murmured, “please.”

MARLEY;

Marley smiled against his mouth as she kissed him again, “Such a well mannered boy,” she said sweetly. “Lay down on the seat for me?” she said, moving off of him to let him lay back.

It depends. I think if you like those places at all, you probably shouldn’t work there because they’ll get ruined for you. Working somewhere gives you a lot of behind the scenes action and that’s not always a good thing.

The elevator door opened and thankfully they were alone. As soon as they step in the small space, he pushed her against the wall, pressing the buttons at random, hoping he pressed their floor. Jonah moved his lips to her neck, and he could feel himself getting harder, which already made his tight leather pants even more uncomfortable. Not that he cared in this moment, “God I want you so bad,” He murmured, deciding for a brief moment to have her right there and then, before the elevator announced their floor and the doors opened. Maybe he could wait another minute or two.

MARLEY;

Marley groaned, feeling him press against her and suddenly wishing to God they were just in bed already. She had a feeling they wouldn’t even make it, truthfully. She nipped at his neck and left little marks there, hearing the ding of the elevator shortly after, “Oh thank God,” she said, “C’mon, c’mon I need you. Let me down and we’ll run?”

Marley: And so I told him that I "love my boyfriend Blaine" and feel "committed to him" and wouldn't feel right sleeping with anyone else even if that's something I used to do all the time.

Marley: We got into a big fight over how I don't know how to deal with the moody version of him he's been showing me lately and the fact that I won't fuck him and we haven't spoken since.

A smug grin came over his features as he won out this particular battle of the wills, with a little help from Mr. Thomas. Leaning back in his chair, he flashed the charming smile he used to get what he wanted at her. Of course, he knew she was strong willed, always had been even when they were kids and lived in the same neighborhood, which made it feel all the better to have won this round. His book was on his desk, although he hadn’t even opened it to read any of it. He had managed to read the sparknotes version, and that was good enough for him. “You’re right, for once.” He shrugged and then sat up again. 

“So, what do you think we should do? Cause hell if I have any ideas.” He was hoping she had some sort of clue of something that would impress Mr. Thomas. Jake had a B in the class, but if this project didn’t go well that could drop pretty easily. 

She pursed her lips, not looking at him - she knew that if she did, she’d just get pissed off, and that’d help no one. She sighed, “Well, I still do the art thing, so we could always design something -- I don’t know what. I have a ton of canvas to work with and I splurged on the expensive paint tubes over Christmas break,” she said with a shrug. “And if not that, you have the whole...dancing thing going on, but I can’t dance,” she nearly laughed, but swallowed it, “Never have been the most coordinated kid.”

It brought out his more adventurous side. “Hmm, if you’re involved, then it’s a lovely environment,” He said with a grin, shaking his head at how weird this was. “Okay, yeah sure. More room back there and all.” He said, trying his best to clamber back, cursing his long limbs and the tiny car.

MARLEY;

This wasn’t the first time she’d had sex in a car, but it was probably the most thrilling. She giggled and blushed when he smiled at her, and when he struggled into the back seat, she couldn’t help but grab his ass playfully, “Oops,” she said. “Hand slipped!” She climbed into the back seat and pulled her crop top over her head, climbing into his lap and kissing him hard, letting her hands slide up and down his torso. They were incredibly close together - even closer than they’d be if they were in her room like any other day, she could feel his warm breath against her each time they broke apart, “I wanna suck your cock.”
