All the sun sees is illuminated ⁣ ⁣ Maybe this why I love sunrise/sunset so much! It’s literally our life on display! Each scene, distinct location, is representative of our lives, different but beautiful. ⁣ ⁣ Before sunrise, clouds start to change, conception! A beautiful glow appears on the horizon, excitement is in the air.⁣ ⁣ Then you’re born, sun finally peaks. Some have more obstacles or experiences, some less: clouds. Regardless, as we navigate through life we create a brilliant light show unique from anyone else’s.⁣ ⁣ You continue to rise, you get to know yourself: sun is showering it’s life-giving light! You see the good and bad as both beautiful in their own way like having clouds during midday. Who likes giveaways!? Like I said in my video last night, I’m going to do a print giveaway when we reach 5k followers. This will be open to all countries. I will be picking two winners because that sounds more fun than one! You can pick any of my shots and the size of your choice. I will run a random number generator between 0-1000. Drove for 7 hours last night, made it to Asheville! What’s the longest road trip you have been on? One thing I love about a trip like mine is not one mile feels like driving!⁣ ⁣ Need to get back on the road but wanted to post a photo. I also published my first blog post. Will put a link in my bio! I’m hitting the road! I’m running behind so I’m trying to leave as soon as possible! Please be patient as I am working on answering DMs and comments! ⁣ ⁣ I was not looking forward to coming back to NC after Florida but I’m glad I did. I fell in love with the state, the mountains and the ocean offered me some amazing shots! I’m definitely leaving with a newfound appreciation for the state! I also met some amazing people that I otherwise would not!⁣ ⁣ As I travel it will be hard to stay on top of IG but I’m going to try really hard when I stop and take breaks. I say it all the time but I am so thankful for everyone’s support! It’s hard to believe we’re closing on 5k! I appreciate the mentions, without you I wouldn’t be here! I’m trying to find balance between my photography, travel and managing social media. There will also be times where I may be in the wilderness without internet. Have you ever been in a warm shower and had ice cold water dumped on you?! That’s what happened as I was taking this photo! A rogue wave hit the rocks perfectly behind me and got me! The wind was taken out of me but I did everything not not let it bother me!⁣ ⁣ In my life I have had things catch me off-guard but still had to perform, either at a job, family, getting through the day. Try not to let things throw you off balance, find your center and hold on to that!⁣ ⁣ Not a sky swap today. I was experimenting with that shot yesterday. I will never be a purist, at anything in life. I’ve always questioned everything, it’s just how my mind works. Why is a certain thing that way? I get it that we are social creatures and a lot of our motivations stem from not wanting to be ostracized from the “tribe.” We still have that software running in the background. Sometimes we let the opinions of others dictate how we want to live our lives with the fear of being “rejected.” I know I have been there. Society says do this or that, live a good life. To go against the grain, you’re essentially leaving the heard in a way. I think in the end, don’t be afraid to be yourself. The right people will join your tribe, your inner circle of support! ⁣ ⁣ I apologize for my “anyone can take a photo, that’s easy” comment. I didn’t mean it like that. I respect all forms of art! It sounds kinda harsh re-reading it. I want this place to be a place of positivity in a world that needs it. First sky swap! I just realized last night doing this that there is so much for me to learn!! I’m not close to being satisfied and I don’t think I ever will. I always want to improve and push my limits. Included the raw photo. Anyone can capture, that’s easy, to create, that takes time, effort and vulnerability. I love all forms of art so do what makes you happy!! ⁣ ⁣ I received a wonderful note from the hotel receptionist from a gentlemen that saw me shooting this morning from the hotel balcony. He referenced a woman by the name of @rachaeltalibart to check out(I did and her work is so inspiring, def check her out)! I attached it with this post. The receptionist was telling me how thrilled he was watching me shoot. I was literally in the water and it’s January, it’s not a balmy 80 degree morning, it’s cold! It never crosses my mind, I don’t hesitate at all, I just go. Clothes will dry, I can always shower but capturing an image is forever. I totally engross myself with the environment: Sand, mud, water, night, wind, cold, heat and those Florida mosquitos that love “off spray”!ha⁣ ⁣ I get these little things happening to me all the time. The universe will open doors for you, you can’t seek it, just operate and let what will be, be. Follow your heart and watch things fall into place. You attract what’s inside of you! ⁣ I’m going to my storage unit today to grab some older photos for my 1st blog post! I’m going to give a background of my life leading up until now. Good morning everyone!! Who is ready for spring!? This weather down here has been pretty cold and can’t wait for the shift! ⁣⁣ ⁣ I took this photo as I was leaving for the night! I was trying to get back to my vehicle which was a mile away before they closed me in the parking lot! I turned around and figure one more shot, glad I did!⁣ ⁣ Thinking yesterday at how lucky we are to be living in this time. I know it’s not perfect and there is still a lot of progress to be made but it is a great time to be alive. No other time in history does the common man/woman have access to the opportunities we have. Granted I know there are many in this world who are living in peril, war, poverty. I’m talking about the access to health care, knowledge, inter connectivity with the internet, civil rights to name a few. We will progress, it just takes time. Look throughout history and see how far we come. I also don’t prescribe that all tech is bad and leading us astray! I marvel at everything we have created....crazy thing, everything man-made started with a thought! Our minds are truly remarkable!⁣⁣ ⁣ If the human species were a human, we would probably be in our teenage years....trying to figure it out, going through a lot of changes. I believe one day we will hit adulthood, become wise and go to the stars! So take advantage of the time we’re in, don’t squander it!⁣ ⁣ ⁣ Ok, that’s enough random thoughts for the day!! Look at that tiny sun! I love how massive this cloud looks! There are no mountains at the beach so gotta make your own sometimes!⁣ ⁣ Funny I was just talking about attitude the other day because this morning my camera fell while on the tripod and broke my fav wide angle lens! I went back to the Jeep to put on some gloves, the wind was kicking hard! I had my headphones on so I didn’t hear it fall, just turned around and there she was, on the ground.😭 Luckily the lens broke the fall and the body was ok. The lens is broken though, so will have to ship it off. I have a 24mm prime lens so I can still get wide angle shots. ⁣ ⁣ So yeah, it’s not cool but what can you do? It’s like crying over spilled milk! There is literally nothing I can do about what happened to change the outcome so why get all bent out of shape. Accidents happen, such is life. I will definitely not leave my camera on the tripod like that even with the legs out and stabilized! ⁣ ⁣ Look at your life the same way. We can either be victims or victors! We can let what happens in our lives define us or rise above. The decision is always yours, it’s an internal one that starts with your mind! Not saying don’t get upset, just don’t let it consume you and throw you off your bigger goals in life! There will always be setbacks and challenges we must all face.⁣ ⁣ I don’t know how many days I’m going to spend here. Scouting it out, overcast today. Getting antsy to leave soon, want to regroup at my Mothers home and head out west from there. I’m really excited for a change of scenery! Don’t let your current situation in life dictate how your future will be. Let me give you an example with this photograph.⁣⁣I took this in the Everglades and initially I didn’t know what to do with it. The raw photo was really dark and looked nothing like I saw and felt. I didn’t know what I didn’t know with processing. I didn’t delete it though, tried some things but was never happy. In my mind, I always believe that I will get better, that one day I will improve. So a month later, I did improve and was able to apply what I have learned today. Always believe in a better day! ⁣⁣What’s the story you play in your head about yourself?When you’re all alone in your thoughts, what is that story? I used to have a negative story and it manifest in my life those feelings. How you think really does shape your life and it’s ok to have thoughts of all sorts of things. What I learned through meditation is to observe those thoughts, pass no judgement and let them go. You acknowledge but you do not accept a negative thought. It’s harder than it sounds but with practice it becomes a part of your everyday life.⁣⁣Thank you as always everyone! I feel I’m falling behind on comments but going to work on them now! Is Jan going fast or what? Seemed like it was yesterday we were all wishing Happy New Year!!⁣ ⁣ Here is today’s photo! I like how the sun illuminated the windows on the right! I’ve been taking advantage of the reflections when they are available, I just like how they look, the balance of it and all! ⁣ ⁣ With my VA appointment now behind me it’s finally time to move. Tomorrow morning I will be driving to Corolla NC in the outer banks. Going to spend some time scouting and see if we can find some wild horses.⁣ ⁣ From there, I’m headed to Oklahoma to visit my Mother and family! So there will be a change of scenery on my feed but still focused on sunset/sunrises. Super excited to head west!⁣ ⁣ When I was talking to the Doc at the VA we discussed what I’m doing and how it was a good thing for me to do this. Some people get out and they miss it or they have a hard time adjusting because it’s so ingrained in their identity that they feel something is missing. I never let that happen. I actually felt like something was missing by being in the service, it’s so restrictive mentally and physically. I’m really happy to help, motivate or inspire others! Wake up to light, what!? Whoah, my alarm, did it go off!? What time is it!? Jump out of bed, rush to the balcony, omg the sky!! I slept in, sun is peaking at the horizon. The sky is perfectly blanketed with a layer of clouds stretching as far as the eye can see. The scene is breathtakingly beautiful! There is a perfect opening where the sun is traveling creating a nice under cloud effect! ⁣ ⁣ Disappointed, you dummy Jonathan, 4 hours of sleep!? What happened to the alarm!? I stand there for a few seconds thinking. Ok, it is what it is, throw my pants on, where are my boxers?! Ugh who cares, go!!! ⁣ ⁣ Get to beach, perfect spot, o this is going to be good!😎 Omg I left my 1st memory card in the room!🙀 Ok, run back up, grab it, back down to beach. There is more to it than this, it’s very beautiful and worth a read. Last night I kept thinking about it as the sun sunk below the horizon and displayed her wonderful colors!⁣ ⁣ To me, to rage against the dying of the light, is to really live your life knowing that this is temporary. So with that, you rage against it by living your life like every minute is your last! Simply, live your life fully so you have no regrets on your deathbed. Take a chance today on something.
