Fuck no, he'd clawed tooth and nail to get himself out of that shithole. The idea that he still had to deal with handsy, entitled expats in the heart of Seoul was nothing less than ridiculous. His body language conveyed that expectation as he stalked toward the bar, muscles taut with pent up aggravation as he slammed a palm to the lacquered surface.

Pacifist, he had to remind himself as he snarled at the bartender who'd let Hyuna run off in the first place. You are a pacifistic. 

"Listen you shitstain."

...Well, for the most part, at least.

"Keep a better eye on your fuckin' customers before I tear both of yours out. I'm sick and tired of playing Robin Hood around this block. If you want to buy yourself a pair of fucking tights like the cocksucking twink you are, then fill the role yourself. But cross me off as one of your merry henchmen, because I'm done."

The bartender could only blink through his furious tangent, stunned into silence, fingers freezing around the stein he'd been wiping down with a clean rag. It was only when Jonghyun disappeared back around the alley door that he chanced any kind of movement. A question, more like it-- aimed toward his Tuesday night regulars by the pool table.

Her sniffling had been an incentive to keep himself as collected as possible, knowing his own reaction was second-hand to the actual victim's.

After all, despite the common theory that Jonghyun lacked feelings outside his latest joke, it was safe to say he knew a thing or two about these situations. That he was no stranger to the hollow looks, the way a heart could twist in a bramble of discomfort. looking at someone who'd felt so exposed and vulnerable just moments before--

" I mean-- you've gotta be hungry." His thumb hikes toward a drive-through down the road, eyes flicking back to gauge your reaction with a hesitant smile.    Kim Jonghyun had never considered himself a violent person. Up for a bit of roughhousing, sure-- but the idea of knocking someone around for the fun of it had never quite breached his idea of "a good time." His friends coined him a pussyboy, but personally, he preferred the term pacifist. He barked more than he bit, and that was that.

"All I'm saying, is--"

Jisun drawls from his left-- a broad, thick cut brunette aiming a pool cue at Jonghyun's glass."Who the fuck comes in here to order a seltzer."

Jonghyun's eyes flick up from the green felt, unimpressed with the comment as he bends low over the table to line up his shot. "The guy two seconds away from ramming this stick up your ass if you don't shut the fuck up."

His coworker can only cackle at the spiteful response, brows raising up past his fringe as he swings back another beer. "Jesus princess, you're out for blood today. What's got your panties up in a bunch?"

Thankfully, Sojin cuts in before he can lube up his cue-- palm smacking at Jisun's head.

"He's got a court date for Sodam tomorrow, Ji." She hisses over the crack of Jonghyun's break, stepping in as he calls stripes. "Cut the kid some slack."

Slack, his ass. There went his idea of relaxation after work. As if eight hours of scrubbing bathrooms wasn't enough, he had a radio show to host at two am and a hail-mary pass of a business to start up. He'd just wanted to chill out with a few rounds of pool in this dive, and instead-- he had to come face to face with the reminder of yet another court date.

Tomorrow morning.

...Maybe a drink wasn't such a bad idea.

Shuffling back to the bar, empty glass in hand and fully intending to pussy out on another club soda-- imagine his surprise when he came face to face with one Kim Hyuna. Stumbling over her own two feet and clinging to a... friend? acquaintance? future.. one-night stand?

Her current state was the equivalent of spotting the lochness monster for him. He'd never seen her drunk-- hell. He'd never seen her anything less than composed, if not a tad flustered by his own sleezy comments. It was obvious that she was either too inebriated, or too wrapped up in her friend to recognize him. Probably both. Etiquette told Jonghyun that it was hardly any of his business. She was laughing, after all-- seemingly having a grand time hanging off his arm.

But even as he let them pass, he couldn't help the nagging feeling that there was something off about the picture. Something off about her escort's smile. Thin lips stretched far too wide, eyes glinting with an unholy light, and absolutely nothing about it felt friendly to him.

"You gonna finish this game Hyun, or what?"

His tongue slicks across his canines thoughtfully, left to stare at Hyuna's retreating back. It takes him a moment to respond, the call snapping him out of his contemplation with a shake of his head-- reaching for Jisun's half finished bottle of Golden Lager instead.

"Hey, what happened to being strict on the seltzer here?"

"Eh."

He shrugs as he pushes through the back entrance of the bar, ignoring Jisun's protests and tipping the remaining alcohol onto the pavement. 

"I've got a feeling it's going to be a rough night."

Rough had been a bit of an understatement. Five minutes later had him cracking the empty bottle onto an alleyway wall, lunging under a halo of glass-- and you guessed it, dodging a swinging fist.

Ah. That's how he got into this situation.

"Now I know you weren't planning on taking advantage of this nice lady, right?" His tone is far too cheerful as he backs the attacker further into the alleyway, tables turned as he forces the hunter to accept his position as prey. His idea of a good time might not be violence, but even he couldn't deny the poetic justice of that face-- so smug, just minutes ago-- pale into a pasty. ashen. white.

"Just like I know--" 

The blonde grunts, catching another (desperate, at this point) attempt at a punch, his palm curling around the assailant's fist mid-swing. Knee jerking up in retaliation as he takes advantage of the other's momentary imbalance with a crippling blow to his groin.

"I know you don't want to get a big boo-boo, yeah?" 

Not that he hadn't already. The way he'd crumpled to the floor, balls receding into a hell of their own seemed like a pretty bad blow. Only not really. What he was actually referring to, was the boo-boo Jonghyun might cause if his throat happened to slip. Slip right onto the jagged prongs of glass he held up to it, foot pressing into the little porker's back. Holding him belly-down as he bent over to fish for his wallet.

"I know you're going to pay for that very expensive shirt you destroyed."

The remaining cash was plucked from it, a good two hundred thousand won, along with the ID he stuffs into his hoodie pocket. One he quickly unzips and tosses toward Hyuna before bending back down to grab a fistful of her attacker's hair.

"And I know you're going to apologize to my very good friend, here."

Jonghyun's boot digs into his spine, One hand sporting a makeshift shank, the other-- the other forcing his head toward the woman he'd attempted to rape. 

True, Jonghyun had the habit of bark over bite. But that hardly changes the fact that when he chooses the later, he never simply bites.
