“Well you move, so I don’t really need to, now do I?” Elliot replied, sounding a little harsh without intention.
“Maybe next time you’ll be the one moving,” he called after her.

“Well you move, so I don’t really need to, now do I?” Elliot replied, sounding a little harsh without intention.
“Maybe next time you’ll be the one moving,” he called after her.
Elliot was skating through camp on her skateboard to clear her head, following on the path. It was rough, but just good enough to skate on. As she was heading near another, she screamed to them to warn them, “Watch out! Coming through!” she said.
Jordan teleported to the other side of Ellie so quickly it almost seemed as though she had gone through him. He watches her and shakes his head. “You could learn to steer.”

“Touching,” he sneered, scraping the nearest chair over to him. “Do me a favor and don’t give me any special treatment.”
Jordan rolled his eyes and crossed his arms, leaning back as he put his feet up on the table in front of him. “Tough crowd.”
brent-vale
Brent rights himself. “Are you doing that to everyone, or is this cry for attention meant just for me?”
“Just for you, babe,” he deadpans.Â

Victoria fell on the ground and shot her brother a dirty look. “Really Jordan?” she asked, blowing a strand of hair from her face. She looked to him. “Was that necessary?”
He snorts and shakes his head. “Not really.”
brent-vale
Brent was about to sit down when the chair suddenly disappeared. He cursed and caught himself before he fell. Wincing, he saw Jordan and shot him a dirty look.
He smirks a bit at the dirty look and shrugs.

Emily watches the person fall, then looks back at Jordan. “You’re going to get sued.”
He snorts. “Good luck to anyone trying to get money from me.”
Jordan teleports someone’s chair out from under them at another table. He looks half satisfied and half bored.

“I mean, not when it’s like, being used and running. There’s kinda a lot of stuff to learn, so the lava may have been missed.” Cordelia shrugged. Jordan’s constant teleporting still gave her the heebie jeebies whenever he’d magically appear next to her, and she was still trying to figure out his personality. She prided herself on being easy to befriend, but, she’d read enough Harry Potter to know that sometimes people from two obviously different houses just don’t mix. “I’ll try it. Do people get hurt a lot?”Â
“Did you also miss the burning smell coming from this direction? Or was it more of an intentional miss so you wouldn’t have to think about it?” The question was meant to be rhetorical, teasing Cordelia. Jordan didn’t exactly ask that many questions that weren’t rhetorical. It wasn’t that he didn’t care, he just didn’t think a lot of answers were that important. He shrugged. “Sometimes, but it’s a quick fix. I think they might get rid of it after the therapists here count it as cruel and unusual punishment.”

“I mean, demigods are supposed to do this, right? Imagine how much cooler you’d be when you come back having been some hero.”Â
“Doesn’t everyone go on quests? Not that glamorous when we have to be heroes every six seconds.”
Cordelia quickly learned that being at camp was a learning curve. She’d gotten the handle of the schedule, the constant meeting of new people, even a slight handle on how to shoot an arrow. She was still working on the magic glitter she so desperately wanted. But, it was all a learning curve. Calloused fingers plucked at the leggings clinging to her thighs, staring down the climbing wall as if it were the world’s biggest puzzle. She rubbed the sole of her sneaker into the dirt, “Does this thing really spit lava and stuff?”
Jordan stood at the bottom of the wall and tilted his head back to look up to the top, then turned to look back at his sister. “Yeah, haven’t you seen it before?” It wasn’t that Jordan didn’t like Cordelia, they just kind of existed on two different planes. It’s as if she lived in a world where she wanted to create glitter with her hands and get excited at the prospect of new adventure, and he lived in one where he liked to make fun of people and teleport places so he didn’t have to walk. They were fundamentally different, and he didn’t hate her for it, he just accepted the fact that they probably wouldn’t understand each other. “So you wanna go up or not? If you’re too slow, I can teleport us back down.”

“Well….” Isaiah took a moment to repeat Jordan’s question in his head. “Yeah. I guess. If we have to.” He shrugged. “I think it might be fun to go out and kick some monster ass, though.”Â
“Yeah? Well I think it’d be more fun to not risk death just because Zeus can’t handle shit on his own.”
“Alright, so you’re telling me,” Jordan started the sentence this way even though what he was about to say was not exactly what the person had said to him, if at all. “That if we don’t stay at camp, we’re probably gonna be eaten by monsters, but in order to stay at camp, the gods want us to go out and fight monster, which we might be eaten by? Bull.”

“Well you can look away now, then,” she replied.
“Okay.” He teleported away without saying anything else.

“Then why are you staring at me?”  Â
He shook his head again, shrugging one shoulder. “Wasn’t. You just caught me looking over in response to someone falling.”
Ellie was tending to her bleeding knee, after having skinned it from falling. “Look, it’s fine, I just fell off my skateboard, no biggie.”
Jordan shook his head. “Alright. Wasn’t really asking, but okay.”
