Peter Fischli and David Weiss The Way Things Go (Der Lauf der Dinge), 1987, film, 29min 45sec
The art installation was in a warehouse, about 100 feet long, and incorporated materials such as tires, trash bags, ladders, soap, oil drums, old shoes, water, and gasoline. Fire and pyrotechnics were used as chemical triggers. The film is nearly 29 minutes, 45 seconds long, but some of that is waiting for something to burn, dissolve, or slowly slide down a ramp.

The Quay Brother's Universum @ EYE
From 15 December 2013 to 9 March 2014, EYE will present a major exhibition of the extraordinary work of the Quay Brothers. These American identical twins have built up an enigmatic and dark body of work that includes stop-motion animation, drawings, and performing arts productions. This exhibition will show their films amidst many of their special sources of inspiration, including artifacts such as scientific collections, curiosity cabinets, and early-twentieth-century drawings by psychiatric patients.
