hi y'all... it's been, quite a long time (again). i'm not sure when i'll be back in the td community, all i know is that i updated le desir when they finally get together, but i am still writing on my tumblr @sammieflute, and I'm more active there.

i have recently been writing a fic for the pitt, a mel/langdon story if you want to see romance that i'll link here. here you'll see how much better my writing is. my writing has improved so much since le desir. looking back, i don't think le desir was the best fic out there, but it's interesting how people will message me saying how it's like the fucking bible of jacsee shipping lol when there are plenty of others that are way better.

Hard to believe a fic I wrote smoking weed 90% and have yet to complete has gained traction in the jacsee world. also ty for reminding me that the revival needs to be written.

She once believed that there was only one way to ice dance.

He insisted that the music would lead them anywhere.

She thrived in superstition.

He had a cigarette addiction.

Her mother wanted a champion.

His father wanted a hockey star.

There were moments when she felt that if she had skated faster, she could overcome the shame.

There were moments when he felt that if she had skated slower, she would realize that there was nothing to be ashamed of.

She realized later on that her heart wasn't just reserved for a gold medal and didn't like that idea.

He had always known that his heart wasn't just for a gold medal and was terrified by it.

She thought he was clumsy.

He was mesmerized as much as he was scared of her.

She doubted that they would last a week as ice dancing partners.

He smiled knowing that she was completely wrong.

She was Josée, and he was Jacques, and after getting silver in the olympics they stepped into a reality TV show, fell in love, but prior to that, they were two souls navigating their world of ice dancing: a beautiful, horrifying world that produced two beautiful, horrifying people that just so happened to be made for each other. --

okay looking back at le desir,,, the writing was,,, so fucking bad lmao i am interesting in revamping it though. the plotlines would stay mostly the same, but the writing would be so much more polished. and since i use ao3 now, i might might consider doing this.

i still have my outlines and old chapters, thank god i saved them, but i think considering i wrote this when i was *checks year* TWENTY when I first published it (oh great heavens)

So, if there is a Jacsee revival in the great 2025, I promise that you will get a quality fic that matches with that. My writing has improved so much since then since I'm in the Pokemon fandom and am finishing up that story.

i am currently revamping this. something i remembered was people being fucking PISSED about the cigarette/drug use in Le Desir (they're fucking french what do you expect) and i'm totally ignoring that, and now it's totally about to get crazier. not done by jacques and josee of course, but the people they are surrounded by. i really am interested in exploring their teen years more and there might be more chapters dedicated to that. gonna make some chapters look like episodes of skins at this rate.

Josée stole a glance at Jacques.

They had kissed.

They had kissed, and no matter how many times Josée tried to erase it from her memory, she simply couldn't. Because she knew it was only to get harder from here, and that she could feel her partnership slipping away all because of how she felt; feelings that she had trouble feeling, but now that she was experiencing it, she wanted it to go away.

It wouldn't change, however. She couldn't go back and changed that they had kissed, and that Jacques had expressed his feelings for her then. Josée knew what she wanted - then and there - but of course, she just had to be late in figuring things out. She liked him; she really, really liked him - and she couldn't help but stare at him. MacArthur was right - as much as she didn't want to admit it to herself - they did dress up nicely; especially Jacques. He was absolutely beautiful.

"It feels like an obligation." Jacques finally looked at his partner who whispered that. It was almost like a confession of some sort. Josèe's eyes were averted to the grass which she had begun picking at. Jacques didn't interrupt. Instead, he waited for her to continue, which she did: "Going to her grave all the time. I feel like I owe her everything. I only have her voice in my head left, and it just won't go away and that brings me here. I just feel nothing and everything at the same time, and that doesn't even make sense."

"No, it does make sense," Jacques interjected quietly. "That's how I felt when Bernadette died. I think... there's this term she used... something about psychology..." If he wasn't so concerned for Josèe, he would've smirked at her rolling her eyes at the mere mention of psychology. "I think she called it detachment."

"Detachment?" Josèe echoed, then shook her head in disbelief. "No. This isn't detachment. I still feel lost without her... but it's the feeling of not having anything else for me, that it's time to give up, because why bother? But it hurts so much to think about... god, I sound like a mental patient. Maybe I'm just insane. No, I've always been insane-"

"Mon petit chou, breathe for me," Jacques cut in gently. Josèe did so, letting out a shallow breath. She had started to ramble again, and Jacques knew that it would eventually turn into her panicking. Luckily, they were able to stop it in time. "You're not insane, don't call yourself that."

"Well I'm not exactly normal, am I?" Josèe questioned. Jacques didn't immediately dispute the point. "I'm all kinds of screwed up... and the race didn't help."

"Josèe," Jacques began, offering a small grin. "Even before the race... when have we ever been normal?"

That earned a little chuckle from Josèe. "You're a moron."

"Ah, but I got you to smile, didn't I?" Jacques remarked. He was right, Josèe was still smiling despite her tear stained face. "You're not screwed up... you're just going through something... you were there for me when Bernadette died. I was going through it, you saw. We'll get through these things together. You know why."

Josèe smiled a little more. "We're the perfect team."

Le Désir: Through the Eyes of the Ice Dancers - Chapter 35: “Something Worth More Than Gold.”

Jacques' lips were warm and moist, and, Josée realized - it was far different from any other kiss she shared with Claude. When Jacques' lips met her own, Josée tensed up ever-so-slightly, but then found herself returning it - she leaned in closer, taking his cues. She felt her heart beat rapidly against her chest in the moment, and only pulled away briefly to catch a few breaths. Josée felt a shiver go down her spine when Jacques caressed her jaw as he kissed her. It wasn't the bad kind of shiver where she was unsure and doubtful about the kisses she shared, thinking that she was a bad significant other, but this kiss she shared with Jacques was real and raw - and it confused her so.

She felt him smiling against her lips; and her stomach did a little flip.

At last, they finally pulled away and gazed into the other's eyes - a million thoughts shared between them.

"I think you're the first girl I've ever kissed," Jacques remarked.

Beat.

Josée's face was bright red, and was still catching her breath that she lost because of her lips against his. Then she couldn't help but let out a chuckle. "Liar. Camila Lemieux, in seventh grade - it was a truth or dare."

Jacques considered it. "Hmm, oui. But..." He looked at her so seriously that Josée was rendered shocked. "...You're the first girl that I wanted to kiss, and for a long time."

Le Désir: Through the Eyes of the Ice Dancers - Chapter 34: “Matters of the Heart.”

Jacques felt very, very cold.

Everyone was there. They were watching the remaining episodes of the Ridonculous Race, and many things became clear to him - it was so painfully obvious that he was into Josèe, and the looks he got from the other contestants told him that they noticed it, too. No wonder Sanders and Tom could tell; and he wouldn't be surprised if everyone else did. In fact, the only person who probably didn't know about his affections for Josèe was, in fact, Josèe herself.

He got the butterflies watching how Josèe hugged him in Argentina; he remembered the feeling all too well. He had been called her hero. She was practically attached to him on the way to the hotel, and they had gone asleep together in the same bed, despite the fact that Josèe had her own. But then he remembered the dread that washed over him when he realized he had caught feelings, and how he was determined to push her away the very next episode.

The very next episode...

"Alright, the Bahamas episode is next!" Don announced.

Jacques' eyes grew wide.

Fuck.
