Colored that Gong Fu Cha set I drew a month ago!
When making tea in the Gong Fu Cha style, you are working with very hot, typically very fragile materials! Accidents are bound to happen. It's important to not let them bother or discourage you. Learn from them, then keep going!
Some Tieguanyin on a misty afternoon in Austin w/ @lorhsdraws
Made some Ma Bien River Red (Sichuanese feral green tea that was oxidized into a red tea). Doing us so right this morning. Today is the last day of week 1 on a month-long feature film Erik and I are working on in NY. This tea is keeping us strengthened and calm for the long days of physically and emotionally demanding work!
Daily Draw 41 - Decided to take a break from the “Place” comic because I’m working this weekend and that comic takes time…so I end up drawing tea until way too late instead.
A-Bing two Qing zhuan "green brick" heichas from Hubei, one from 1997 (white brick on left) and one from 2008 (blue-gray brick on right). Using virtually identical gai wans. The older one took longer to break apart, holding its rough brick shape even after five steepings! Such a fun experiment. Older tea was more earthy and dry, newer one tasted fresher, more like Sheng pu erh or an aged white.

We made a Gongfu Cha ASMR video! Check it out!
Candlelit black tea on a rainy Texas morning
Had this pot for over a month and never made tea in it until tonight! Wanted to wait and get some awesome Jade Oolong since it's such a big pot! This is now our Jade Oolong pot. Huzzah!
Mary and So Han at The West China Tea Company made us an amazing Eight Immortals Phoenix Oolong tonight! They used their clay charcoal stove to heat up the water all traditional-like! 'Twas much fun and very tasty!
Using my little travel gongfu set to make some Yuan Sheng Tuo up here in Seattle!!
Thunderstruck Oolong during a thunderstorm!!
lorhs makes a cup of aged white tea in a black clay gai wan
Having some friends over for tea!
Made some Yellow Twig Oolong tonight, and I gotta say it came out really well! Gave you a cold feeling in your throat. So cool!
Making white tea in the black gai wan and red tea in the red gai wan! A fine balance.
