my sweetie vended their first ever art market last week and their display looked so gorgeous!! 🥲
Matcha and shinko dango at Ayuchaya Hiranoya, a 400 year old teahouse in Sagano, Kyoto
My brand new gaiwan from teaware.house FINALLY got here! Took a hella long time (for international shipping logistics reasons entirely outside distributor control, so I highly recommend teaware.house regardless) but here! she! is! :-)
She’s an 80ml compared to my old ~150ml, so my little solo seshes will finally stop taking so damn long lmao. So cute and petite but also clearly very intricate with gorgeous details I can’t help but admire. I happen to have small hands, so the handling is really good on it too, my one complaint being that the knob on the lid is flat and not ridged—so, not the most comfortable in that regard.
The gang’s all here now! The gong dao bei, teacup, and strainer are new as well—picked them up separately, from Yunnan Sourcing’s warehouse in China—which, on the other side of the coin of Gambling With International Shipping, somehow got here a mere WEEK after I ordered them lol.
Strapped for time doing adulting stuff so I can’t squeeze in a sesh just yet to verify how this thing does with hot water, but I’ll fill you guys in if the thing fucking explodes or if anything else ridiculous happens. Otherwise… I’ll probably still post, actually, just to show off what I’m sipping on. ;-)
Anyway guys check out my cute flowery tea set I put together :>
With a very floral tea hehe
Lil teatime today, drinking an older fukamushicha that is still surprisingly good.
I recently commissioned a map of my forever island, Red Crane, from @lenacrossing (IG: lenacrossing.) The results are stunning! I've been playing ACNH since early 2021 and logged a lot (A LOT) of hours working on this island so having a formal map felt like a great way to immortalize it. Lena was amazing to work with and has an impressive portfolio. I highly recommend her for commissions!
Since the map completion was close to my birthday, I celebrated with an ACNH-themed tea!
You can visit Red Crane anytime at DA-3852-9978-4700. I would also be delighted to do real-time tours if schedules work out.
Old Hagi ware cup, produced at least before 1960. For tea or sake. The pale beige glaze is covered with fine crackle patterns, and small feldspar inclusions appear across the surface, creating the characteristic scenic texture appreciated in Hagi ware.
