FFCP1 Research

when doing my research for FFCP1 i found some challenging hurdles to over come. the first hurdle was understanding the meaning of the sonnets and for this i used two websites.

i used this to find the modern day explanations of what the sonnets mean to fully use and understand how i want to create ideas for my film.

i then researched other sonnet film to try make my film as original as possible.

as an example they are mostly all very slow paced with very similar themes. 

I didn't want this to be to do with cycling but i wanted to make my film original so decided that sonnets and cycling could work well together. 

after doing some technical research on the best way to colour grade to change scene from a day dream i code how i wanted my film to look and have hopefully achieved this goal.

FFP1 Research

I started my research by looking into riding stables and specifically ride 2 achieve using their website and google maps as an idea for location.

then quickly realsing how it could be difficult to film and frame horses i started to look into other films which have horses in and how the horses are framed and how the directors use them to show scale and grandure.  

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QhueHIXbTF4  A great example was war horse as it was based around horses and was directed by Steven Spielberg.  

After i had done the initial research we then planned the narrative in which we use the simple ideal of beginning middle and end of the journey through the ride to achieve program. 

after this i researched how you could do a POV from the horses perspective.  

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=sIbSKAkO-aQ this is what i could come up as the best way to do it but as we were working with horses which are notorious for being easily scared animals as well as working with people who have learning disabilities, we decided it was not worth to get this shot. 

we then did a location scout and went through our proposed idea with Janet where she gave us some things to think about including how some people might not want to be filmed. 

On our location recce i took some photos so i could visulized where i wanted to film and how i wanted it to look.
