/you are so beyond lucky I don’t have any weapons on me and my arm’s still in a sling
//enjoying a good laugh behind a soda//
/I will find you and I will make sure that you go face first into some wet sand and trust me even though I appreciated the magical help I will make sure it hurts
//oh well then you better watch your step with those loose boards mister threating.//

//You mean like that sinkhole you might walk into?//
//what's in it for me to not ruin your fun?//
//at the beach, looking for beach goers to mess with and fun to have//
Ahh, in that case eight out of ten. I’d recommend something along the line of vague earth trembling, perhaps a bolt of lightning. That’ll surprise the kiddos.
Lightning...isn't my area. I'll leave it at that.
Six out of ten. Too flashy.
I was more aiming for disorienting.

ooc;; of course that twat is probably planning something grandiose and expensive
ooc;; Hey I'm really sorry I was so absent. There was a lot of stress and family stuff, but I got some of it sorted out so I'm back

Not trouble, just the kind of injuries you get out of occasional clumsiness—managed to fall and give myself a nice forehead cut. I got blood on the carpet, too.
//arches an eyebrow at the girl's clumsiness//
I wasn't aware such unintentional self harm was possible.
Uh..since Vergil’s my father, I guess he’d be my grandfather. Though it’s hard for me to believe.
That is hard to believe.
//He doesn't bother masking how bored he sounds with the subject now as he spins around to properly face the other//
First, you should display what you already know, so I might be able to instruct you how to improve.
@Dante
Another shrug, hands included this time. “I’m not the kind of guy who socializes a lot”, he sighed, grabbing his beer and drinking. “If your feelings are hurt, well, the only thing I can do is apologize once and warn you I’m not the people kind of guy so don’t take it personally”.
His fingers tapped the counter, giving a quick nod —that was one good beer, he would make a note to buy there more frequently. “S’ not that I’m not giving you a chance or not, this is who I am. I just find it weird for someone who just soaked my shirt with coffee to suddenly offer to buy me a drink when the obvious sort of thing would be to at least offer to clean it up at the laundrymat not too far from here. I dunno”.
"I wasn't aware there was a launderer near by," Loki admitted with a half-smile. He tapped two fingers on the counter, to indicate that the bartender keep both their drinks coming. He leaned his elbow on the counter and his chin in his palm.
"I could still offer to have it cleaned, if that's what you'd rather have," he then offered. It would solve the problem he was having of not being able to see down Dante's shirt. He looked over at the man with an eyebrow raised. "Or do you think I would find some way to make a laundromat deadly, too?"
@Dante
So much kindness was starting to creep Dante out. But he didn’t let it show.
The bar wasn’t full, it looked quite nice. To avoid pinning himself against a tight corner he wouldn’t be able to get out without jumping at a ridiculous height and shooting someone in the way, he decided to use the seats right in the middle of the counter where the bartender stood. The more witness, the better. And, besides, his red coat wasn’t easy to ignore.
He set his hands on the counter, pointing at the bartender and asking for a beer. “Canned, pour it right in front of me”, he shrugged. “Can’t be too careful, now can we?”
"Keep up like this, and you're going to hurt my feelings," Loki said before turning to the bartender asking for whatever brown ale they had on tap. He stretched a bit in his seat, trying to grab a quick glance under Dante's collar, but to no avail. He sat forward again, with his elbows on the bar.
"You only ever meet friends at random, and you aren't giving anyone much of a chance, with that attitude," he commented lightly. He paused to take a long drink from the beer he was brought. "It sounds a lot like you've had one too many bad experiences."
@Dante
Dante followed his lighthearted laugh with a chuckle, waving his hands at his remark. “Hey, it’s not like that! Just a bit weird for me to see people willing to throw out money for me that quick. Gotta keep your eyes open to serial killers and the like”.
One last look and pat at his shirt and he had forgotten how warm the coffee was when it touched him, which for him was close to nothing. After facing demons in the pits of hell, Starbucks better rev up their coffee machines to burn him the slightest. Leaving out a sigh as the man started walking, Dante had no option but to follow. It felt like in one of those serial killer movies, the charming guy turns into a psychotic asshole and the unknowing person figures it out too late —with the only difference being his guns hidden under his jacket. “Name’s Dante”, he responded. He had dropped the Tony Redgrave persona a long time ago, no need to start using it again.
Bingo! Everything started falling into place like Dante's and Loki's steps, meshing together into a natural pattern. They passed the entrance to a dark alleyway, and every fiber of Loki's being wanted to take Dante back there and finish this quickly. He didn't, though. He promised himself that the wait would be worth it. A lot more could come of this drink than just getting the pendant. Another possible ally.
They reached the bar with no incident. Loki backed hismelf against the door to open it, gesturing in with an open hand and begging, "After you, Dante."
There weren't many people there, mid-afternoon. Loki let Dante choose where they would be sitting, and what they would be drinking for the first round. Now came the next step: get Dante wonderfully drunk.
<Rubs the back of his neck slightly.>
Sparda was a dark demon knight, the second hand man to this demon general, Mundus. Mundus wanted to control and probably destroy the human world, letting demons run rampant on it. Well, Sparda didn’t like that idea, so he turned on Mundus and defeated him, sealing any and all pathways from Hell to this world. After that, he dropped off the radar and apparently decided to settle down, hence where Dante and my father came from. He kept peace in the human world for 2000 years. Hah, it’s weird talking about this stuff again. Never thought I’d have to after leaving Fortuna.
Well, that was all a bit heavier than I had expected.
//not really, but he's going to pretend it was while they take the final steps out of the city and towards the plains//
And your relation to him would be....?
I think that’d be putting it mildly. He’s insanely powerful, just like my father. Almost puts me to shame that I’m not nearly as good at fighting as him, heh. But I guess it’s to be expected, considering he’s got Sparda’s blood. First time we met, I thought I’d beaten him by impaling him to a statue with his own sword, he slid down and pulled it out like it was a splinter.
My, that sounds tough, indeed...
//arches his eyebrows as if he hasn't heard any mention of these things before//
--Sparda? Who is that?
